Nothing much has changed in 18 years.
Was looking for info on inactive ones like myself when the elders finally find me .
from the audio of the kms posted by kent the other day, it's enlightening to listen to the talk on the inactive.
watch for the tell-tale signs the elders are to look for in the notes that follow:.
congregation book study overseers assisting the inactive.

study watchtower, june 2020, box on page 22 - "note the comment made by an inactive one in spain: “i want to be reactivated, but it is very difficult.
but it is not easy.
i have to change my lifestyle and cut ties with some worldly friends.".
How patient and empathetic the elders will be when the subjects of child abuse scandals , 1914 date, United Nations etc and the inactive ones what to discuss these issues and have evidence to back it up.

Thanks
It didn't take them long to ask for money even though millions of people around the world are not at work , possible have no money coming into the home and they need the necessaries of life ,
What a kind loving organisation
the behavior from the org lately had me a bit confused, as it seemed to fall outside of their norm.
i'm not talking the hardcore armageddon wishers texting each other about peace and security, etc.
* but, the elders contacting people daily, and having extra meetings where they have all their additional rules.
Yes totally agree.
Flying monkey from the wicked witches of Warwick.
They've probably chased up the inactive ones and gaslight them that the end is near again and it's the last of the last days and put pressure on them to return or else . make the flying monkey elders look good to the co .
Then once things go back to normal most will hopefully disappear again.
this whole "zoom" thing has got me wondering whether some of it is legal or not.
if a person has to dress up for a zoom meeting the way the watchtower dictates, doesn't this really go "beyond" cult?.
even the cults who committed mass suicide were able to dress the way they wanted for their meetings.
Waton
My kids are grown up and left the cult years ago,
I'm not on zoom ,it's about who can view the children on zoom with out the parents permission and with the orgs history with child abuse what stops these people recording or taking photos of children,
Zoom I believe was designed for business use .
not only do they want everyone dressed up for the zoom meetings( which i won't do) they decided to keep the zoom meeting at 1pm sunday!
so they don't upset their spiritual routine!
ugh!
The issue comes in divided households where one is fading and the other wants to use zoom to the full , it's easier to sit at a meeting and not look interested than when they zoom in on your home and see you.
Never thought I use the term divided household in the opposite way.

How does GDPR (general data protection regulation) apply to phone call and collecting data unless they are people who are known to you?
Does it allow people just to go through a phone book or a online directory?

There are child protection issues recording or photos being taken of children.
Domestic abuse survivors being protected from being found by their abusers.
Wonder if elders would respect people from refusing to join zoom because of these issues?

In the UK JWs signed a document regarding the org using their info online with the data protection laws whether that includes the homes of JWs , and if they agree to using zoom might excuse the org .
Even though some may not want to use zoom in the privacy of their own home's because of the pressure from the org and elders hopefully that would be against their human rights etc

Behavior Control: An individual’s associations, living arrangements, food, clothing, sleeping habits, finances, etc., are strictly controlled.
Information Control: Cult leaders deliberately withhold or distort information, lie, propagandize, and limit access to other sources of information.
Thought Control: Cult leaders use loaded words and language, discourage critical thinking, bar any speech critical of cult leaders or policies, and teach an “us vs. them” doctrine.
Emotional Control: Leaders manipulate their followers via fear (including the fear of losing salvation, fear of shunning, etc.), guilt, and indoctrination
Yes technically a sect but uses the same physiological manipulation and coercive control as a cult
