How Many Here Remember Hearing Details from the Platform on Why a Person was Reproved or DF'd ???

i just had this flashback when commenting on another thread about how they used to announce reproof or dfing from the platform.

at least in our congregation, it was a dramatic event (this is what i can remember from back in the mid-late 60's or early 70's when i was a kid).. at the end of the service meeting, just before singing the final song, the brother would announce, "we have a letter that must be read.

the "congregation servant" (my grandfather or later my father) would then slowly walk from the back of the kh to the platform.

Thanks RubaDub was just a teenager then , should have listened better at the meeting rather than just wanting to talk to my pals after the meeting

for those of you who've watched the witnesses documentary, let's suppose for a moment that the org was forced to make their database of abusers available to the courts.

if this database is as detailed and meticulous as it is claimed, how in the world could the org (in its present form) survive that?

assuming they don't go bankrupt after all of the new abuse claims, would they go underground, shut down the kingdom halls, stop the preaching?

Some appointed men no longer irreprehensble , the abusers and those who failed to report it.

If they change the statue of limitations then the police would be very busy.

Recording judicial matters for the file

hi i'm not sure if i remember it correctly but in the mid 2000 onwards i thought matters were recorded by the name bro so &so and the scripture say colossians 3:5 then say "uncleanness" .. which according to jws could mean almost anything of a sexual nature including child abuse ,so people could be hiding behind that .. or have i remembered correctly..

For the elders file that they stopped writing out all the details of the wrongdoing and we were instructed just to write the name and a scripture regarding the judicial committee.

As you said it was for in case someone got access to the file they wouldn't know what the judicial action taken for , as there was just a scripture,so could not take court action.

there is no way donations can cover these massive projects.

so the money will have to come from the sale of the remaining halls.

Just one meeting a week video public talk 30 mins , w/tower type question repeat answer 30 mins , service meeting , local needs (begging for money) 30 mins .

Multiple Cong's one k/hall
