I'm not naive enough to believe everything I hear, nor to believe that my Gov't couldn't be lying to me. On the contrary, I believe my Gov't always lies all the time, always has and always will (no matter who is in office).
BUT, I find it funny that when Kerry throws ridiculous accusations towards Bush (like the Saudi oil price thing), there are people here that jump right on it as fact just because they hate Bush. It may be human nature to believe what you want to believe, but it's not reality. When something like this pops up, they won't acknowledge that there's even a remote chance this could be truth. Oh no, this horrible and cruel American President is telling lies about this innocent Iraqi leader. There's no way he could have been producing WMD, he has no history of it at all, he's not a murderer or a tyrant. It's all the fault of the American people for backing a monster like Bush. And as for Jordan, King Abdullah must be lying for his American friends (even though he's not thrilled with the US himself nowadays - side note; I don't blame him!).
Grow up already, if it were propaganda, the Bush administration would be all over it by now. There's no proof as of yet that these weapons came from Saddam, just enough to make you wonder how nerve gas that (up until now) was believed only produced in Iraq, wound up coming across the Syrian border. And, more importantly, via a country where Iraqi scientists claim the WMD were transported days before the war began.
You'd just think it'd be enough to at least make people consider a different idea. It's apparent that some are set in their ways and wouldn't see fact if it slapped them in their face.

I don't think there is enough evidence to conclude anything on the jordan incident . There are al quaeda ties all over that area including saudi arabia . We have people in the USA who are trying to make that kinda of stuff in their basement , who's to say where secret labs are in the world? BTW I am chilled out .
There's not yet, but there's enough evidence to discuss it. for months we've heard every hateful thing imaginable about our President. Now with the possibility that we was 100% correct; there's alot of clamming up I think...

I'm surprised that the anti-bush people here aren't commenting so much on the Jordan issue....

haha, I told them I was offended that they allowed a user to claim that some of the very same beliefs that I share with their advertisers are "condemned by the scriptures", and asked that the page and user be removed immediately.
Or something like that - like I said, I'm bored :)

some dumb congressman taking a loaded glock pistol onto an aircraft.. a guy was just jailed for 9 months in the uk for arriving at heathrow (from washington dulles) with amminution in his jacket.
but hey, he wasn't a congressman ... just a black guy.
I tend to agree with AlanF when it comes to Simon's comments. I don't know if the guy really hates anything 'American", although I highly doubt that's the case, but it does tend to offend me personally. I didn't get that idea from this thread in particular, but other threads I've found myself highly offended, so I left them alone.
But so what. It's Simon's site, he can appear to hate whatever he wants.
As for the moron with the gun, he should receive the same punishment that I would if I were in his shoes. Do I think it's possible he made a mistake? Yep. But you know what? Not even a week ago I was arrested for driving without a license. Let mine expire and now I'll pay the price with a big fat fine, much larger than this guy will receive (none). It was a mistake on my part but one I shouldn't have made. So, like a man I'll take what I deserve. He should do the same.

Lab Tests Could Link Saddam's Missing WMDs to Jordan Plot
Laboratory tests on the poison gas smuggled from Syria into Jordan by al Qaeda terrorists earlier this month could determine whether their weapons came from Iraq, intelligence expert John Loftus said Monday.
"What they captured was a poison gas that consisted of several chemicals to be mixed together," Loftus told nationally syndicated radio host John Batchelor. "This has to be a poison gas of what they call the G-series; Sarin, Somin, Taubin and VX."
The terrorism expert noted that, "VX is the only kind of nerve gas where the chemicals could be safely mixed together in the field."
On Saturday, Jordanian officials announced that they had seized WMD components from the cars of the al Qaeda terror plotters, which had been intercepted just 75 miles from the Syrian border. Experts said that had the WMD plot succeeded, it could have killed 20,000.
Jordan's King Abdullah confirmed that the al Qaeda vehicles had come from Syria,
Noted Loftus:
"Syria dopes not make VX nerve gas - only Saddam Hussein did. So it looks as if now that Israeli intelligence and British intelligence were right - that Syria did indeed get a hold of Saddam's weapons of mass destruction just before the war."
Loftus said lab tests of the al Qaeda weapons would be key to establishing a link between the WMDs found in Jordan and Saddam's missing stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons.
