Although hackers get the headlines, most security breaches are inside jobs or human mistakes.
If it was really a hacker (amazing timing?!) then how it is secured, what it's running on etc... needs to be reviewed. Even the server-side code to make sure there are no vulnerabilities.

Although, with the recent emails sent out, it certainly would seem like that was the insinuation, but then again maybe I'm just paranoid nowadays. Maybe Bill should clarify that for us.

OOPS! Well that's because those are directed to MY server, which they're not suppose to be. I was told to dump the files, so I did. So the question is, have they been pointing at my server these past few days? I can't tell with webstats because there's no longer a domain name attached to it, so they won't be able to resolve that. So, if Bill needs me to put them BACK up on my server, he needs to let me know ASAP, because I'm on my way out here in a little bit.

I have to say. I think the way the passwords are handed out, they're lucky they haven't had more problems. I said it before, I told him to be more careful, everyone and their uncle had access to it when it was on my server.

First I would like to say how sorry I am that the site is down. I'm a bit worried. If a person NEEDS to get information from that site right this minute, this could be catastrophic for them. For instance, suppose someone needs immediate assistance, and only has a few minutes on the web for their cry for help? For what it's worth, and putting everything aside, I am offering my assistance to Bill, and silentlambs. I find it odd that the site is still down. I've made a search on google for the site, and when I click any other page except the index page (www.silentlambs.org), it works, which tells me that the site is NOT down, that it is intact, and taking 15 seconds to upload a copy of the index page would solve the whole problem. Anyone can check for themselves for pages to view, but here's one I found, and all the others I'm finding are fine as well:

Hmmm...so after all of the previous uproar about passwords and FTP access and uploading the SL site now its being purported that someone sabotaged the whole thing? The "webmaster" fior SL didn't bother changing passwords when he/she took over administration?

I mean just for security's sake that would have been the first thing I did, if just to keep the former "webmaster" out of the domain's space.Personaly I find that a bit hard to believe. Unless there was a serious hack of the web server one can assume that a potential sabotuer had the username and psw. Seems like an awful lot of trouble over one website. Yeah sure, lets play the conspiracy game and assume someone is trying to undermine the work of SL. Not only would it have to be organized, but also be people who knew how to hack a web server and people who knew they could face jail time and civil penalties for said action. Do you really think serious hackers would involve themselves w/pro WTBTS people involved in some petty game of revenge? I doubt it...So which version of who's truth is it? I ask myself why I should even care and yes wednesday it does come back around to the abused...I just wish it were easier to be on the cheering squad..you know what I mean?
Believe me, silentlambs has hack attempts daily! When I was in there I fought them off all damn day long, and all night long too. There's alot of people out there that are against bill, AND the cause.

i remember when i first started to hear rumblings that "something big" was going down regarding the society's handling of child abuse.
i was overjoyed because i had first-hand knowledge of several atrocities in this regard and was hoping against all odds that a major upset would force them to change their policies.

I thought long and hard on all of this last night, took a long hot bath, and pondered this entire thing, from beginning to end. I came to the conclusion it's just plain embarrassing, and it has benefited no-one. However, the cause in itself HAS. So my point is, if we've helped even one person, and saved even one person regarding this horrific crime that continues to take place in our society, then it far outweighs the negative effect of the series of events that have taken place. Is that a good excuse? Does that mean that we should just let it go? Absolutely. It's time to move on and look to the future. I don't care what Bill Bowen said about Ray Franz. I don't care what Bill Bowen has said about me. It's not about Bill Bowen, or Ray Franz, and it's definitely not about me. Ray Franz does his thing, Bill does his. I feel in my heart Ray Franz is a good man, and I'm trying my very best to feel the same about Bill Bowen. Like I've said, I am a very forgiving person, and it appears as though Ray is as well. I can't help Bill in whatever agenda he might have, no matter what that is. I can't change his mind or opinion on those around him, BUT.....I can do my part for the cause, and that's all I can do. I realized last night that my trying to defend my name against Bill's allegations is not time well spent, and neither is worrying about it for that matter. I have more important things to do with my time and energy than to worry about what Bill thinks of me. I think there's several classes of people here. There's those that support Bill Bowen, those that support Bill Bowen/silentlambs, those that support silentlambs, those that support THE silentlambs, and those that don't particularly support the cause at all, for whatever reasons. Those of you that support Bill Bowen, more power to you. Those of you that support silentlambs, God Bless you. Those of you that support the cause, but NOT silentlambs, I understand you. Among some of you, I'm sure there's frustration. Some of you WANT to support the cause, you WISH you could support silentlambs, you WANT to help, but you just can't find it in you, for whatever reasons. Well, there are things you can do. You CAN support the cause, but not the organization of silentlambs. You can tell everyone you know about these problems. You can pass out flyers, outlining these problems. You can start websites with ALL this information. You can do a number of things, the possibilities are endless. Do you need to follow one man or organization to do this? I'm not saying I have all the answers, but that's what we're trying to do with LambsRoar. It's not about any particular person. It's not owned by one man. Whatever, and wherever LambsRoar goes is up to the Abuse Survivors, and that's that. It belongs to THEM, and if Bill Bowen doesn't like it, too bad. I'm not going to worry myself as to whether or not we have Bill Bowen's approval or that of silentlambs. We ARE the silent lambs, and WE decide how we will heal, and no-one else will. I'm not going to spend my time debating, or worrying or wondering or arguing about it anymore. I need to heal just like all the rest of us, and we need to push forward with that. Does something have to be done about Watchtower Policy? Sure, but we can only do that by educating the general public. No matter how many letters we write to the GB, or how hard we try to make them fall, they will not change. It's time to realize that. We can only educate, and lend support for those that are harmed, and that's it, because NOTHING will make them change. Some want the Watchtower to fall, thinking THAT is the only way to make them change. Well, that could very well be, but while we're beating at the narrow minded rock solid heads way up there at the top, there are still people being abused. So who's going to help them? That's the question.....How will they heal? How do we prevent this from happening? What happens when and if they fall and release all those pedophiles out to God knows where? It STILL doesn't solve the main issue. They'll just run to the Mormons, or someone else, and then what? We chop them down until they fall? Good luck! This is getting lengthy here, so I'll sum it up:
Who cares what Bill Bowen thinks about anyone?
Who cares who Bill Bowen approves of, or disapproves of?
How is all this helping the cause?
How are WE going to educate the general public??
If YOU support the cause, how can YOU help?

Now that he KNOWS I don't want my name used, he uses it more than ever! Nice guy, not protecting the identity of an Abuse Survivor when requested. Not very nice, not ethical, and certainly not professional. This is the guy YOU want running this show? I think you should take another vote!

Well it appears Matt has now hijacked my guestbook. It appears he has killed the admin so no edits can be done to the board. This exposes posters to anything anyone wants to say without protection. The guestbook will go down soon and will be replaced. Yet another expense caused by Matt's actions. I hope he can move on from this, we have a website to run and this is not helping.

And Rev .... it's "apparent libel" not slander and I really want to see where it occurred cause I am having difficulty finding it.
This is not true according to my Attorney, but again, I don't plan to sue, so it really doesn't matter, and I am no expert myself. 'libel' is defamation in 'printed' matter, and yes the email might seem to be 'printed' matter, but it is not. It falls under 'slander' because it was done under a pretense of personal communication via Bill and his 'friends'. 'libel' would be if Bill included a printed version of this email in his inevitable up and coming novel (No, I don't know this, I'm presuming of course :). If he did that, well then he would be guilty of defamation of character, libel AND slander. If he's good at anything, it's killing his entire reputation with one stone. He's a master, and doesn't even realize it. Beyond that, I will not go tit for tat, that would just be ridiculous. If you don't see things as I do, then there's nothing I can do, and continuing on in a debate that will benefit no-one would be an incredible waste of time and energy. I am ready to move on, forgive and forget I suppose, and hopefully heal, this is doing nothing to benefit the cause or the Abuse Survivors. I have stated that the website is still up for grabs by silentlambs.org, and it will remain that way. Again, this is for the Abuse Survivors, and not a personal favor to Mr. Bowen. Unfortunately I no longer have any use for the man, but that's just me. I will respond to the allegations, but it's not my top priority at this point in time. He's buried himself here, and what I have to say in response is really not going to change that one bit. Again, I am bending over backwards, which is and has been a matter of public record for several days now, ever since Mr Bowen 'informed' the public of this insanity.

This was done the THREE times this week he has slandered my name. I am an Abuse Survivor. I've decided that this is not helping the Abuse Survivors, nor their supporters one bit. LambsRoar.org will move on, and there's much to do in the near future, and this is only holding us back. It's holding silentlambs back as well, and hurting the very cause both Bill and I stand for. I am preparing an official statement in reply to those made by Mr. Bowen, and that will be posted sometime today. I'm in contact with my Attorney, I do not which to step out of line, so anything I say on this topic from here on out will be checked with him first. Simon, that's all I meant when I mentioned contacting him. I know this is the good old USA, but I would not sue Bill for what he's done, enough Abuse Survivors are paying a higher price than what I could receive in settlement. This is itself makes me ill. So, for that reason, I will try my best, as I have been for the better part of a week, to keep the peace with Mr. Bowen. I do feel it necessary to answer the allegations levied against me, just for a matter of public record, but other than that, I am at peace with Bill, and the silentlambs cause. If he wishes to continue launching attacks on the innocent, than that is a problem of his own. He can waste all the time he wishes in that effect, it is no business of mine. I would also like to make the following as a matter of public record:
Even though I have been slandered, Abused, lied to and used, I know how much the website created for silentlambs will HELP the lambs, and I don't wish for them to lose out on the valuable information contained within that creative. Many many hours, days and months went into that website, by me AND a few other volunteers. Including G.R.I.T.S., UNDF, Lolipop (from LRD), Dungbeetle, and a few others I can't mention, because I don't know their names (As they were working with GRITS), I wish to thank each end every one of them for their unselfish assistance in the website development. For all these reasons stated, but mostly for the Lambs, I am STILL not holding that work back from Bill, or silentlambs.org. He/They are more than free to come to me and receive the website that they abandoned, with no questions asked. If there is someone who would like to mediate that transfer, please contact either me or Bill, and negotiate that. I think it wise that Mr. Bowen and I not have too much contact with one another for the time being. I will offer Bill nothing else, but the files for the website. I will sign nothing, I will request nothing, and I will offer nothing else. Anyone who is capable of moving the site may wish to volunteer, or he may use his current webmaster, whatever, and however he chooses. That is my offer of peace, in spite of what has occurred over the past several days. And as I have stated publicly, silentlambs has a FULL Lifetime license to use any creative on that site by me or my company, and that includes coding, layout, graphics and design. That means for LIFE he may use that work royalty free. Whether or not he gives my company credit for that work is on his conscience, and that will be understood. I think this is more than fair considering what I have been through. Realize that this offer is on account of all Abuse Survivors worldwide, so that they may sooner find what they need to be at peace within themselves. This is not a 'favor' to Mr. Bowen, it has nothing to do with him, and everything to do with the Abuse Survivors.

I just can't believe I was played for such a fool. All the warnings in the world didn't keep me away, and yet I fell right into the game. I'm so ashamed of myself for not knowing better, BUT, I will never regret the time and energy I've spent trying to support silentlambs, and silentlambs.org, NEVER.
