I didn't realize they claimed the Father to be the judge. Interesting....

Why does the WTS say Jehovah will Judge?
by Pleasuredome in.
why does wts keep printing in their literature that jehovah will judge when in the gosple of john it clearly states that christ will judge, and that judging was given to the son by the father?
"for the father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the son," john 5:22

DREAMER (Submissive Introvert Abstract Feeler )
Like just 11% of the population you are a DREAMER (SIAF)--reserved and imaginative. You are basically the shy, silent type. You don't have much interest in facts and figures or most of what's going on around you, but the internal worlds you build for yourself are rich and complex.
Luckily, your creativity and strong heart mean you have a deep personality evident to anyone who gets to know you. It's just that not many people do, because most everyone thinks you're a loser. Talk to yourself less, other people more, little shaver. -

I moved out at 16 or 17, and it was probably one of the worst things I ever did. I would think long and hard before doing that. But I know, I wouldn't have listened to anyone, so I won't preach. Just consider your situation and all of your options. Think about where you'd like to be in 5-10 years and base your decision on that. I wasted alot of my life on decisions I made to be 'free'. I thought leaving home at a younger age would give me a head start, but it did the complete opposite, as it does for most.
My 2 cents, good luck!

What comes from the press coverage in combination with the lawsuits and the criminal charges will bring about change. If it doesn't the corporations will go bankrupt and people will end up in jail.
I respectfully and completely disagree. The media is definitely not hurting, but the court cases and the media are NOT going to make the politicians change the laws. Are you kidding me? They have people hammering them every day about this or that. You can't change laws until you go after them. Petitions, letters, phone calls, public knowledge.....these are the things that will bring about change. The WTBS has yet to lose one of these cases (except settling out of court). And even so, they're definitely not going to change unless the law forces them to, and that's 'iffy' as well, since we see them breaking the law every day all over the world. The general public knows nothing about this.
Go out on the street and ask 100 people, I bet you 10 bucks says you find 5 at most that have heard of the problem specifically with JWs.
People care when they hear about it, but not enough to make them think, or remember. It needs to be presented as a personal problem. This differs from the Catholics, these people are knocking on our doors, that's what people need to know. They also need to see where this has actually happened (someone harmed from a molester at their door).
We've been hearing about the Catholics all our lives, have any of us given it much thought? At least to the point where we actually do something about it? Chances are no, because our son's won't be altar boys. That's the same with all the people on this planet that aren't closely related. These people all need to know this is a problem that faces every human on the planet. If you think about it, there's very few issues that can have an impact on every single human alive, and that's what people don't understand. Both the general public, and the politicians, and we need to tell them.

I wasn't targetting my comments at anyone Rev, I just thought that it's easy for these things to escalate with innocent and unconnected events being tied together and built on and I think that we should remember and be mindful of what Bill has done and the pressure that he is shouldering.
This is true, and I'm sure he's under a tremendous amount of pressure. I guess I am a bit guilty of doing a little 'venting' here. I'll try and watch my mouth, it's just that sometimes it's hard to do. You know, you went through this crap with someone else as well, it gets to a guy after a while. But one thing is for sure, for at least most of us. If we didn't care, we wouldn't say anything at all, so I believe most anyway have good intentions. I think alot of this frustration comes because we'd like to help, but aren't allowed to, or some don't because they don't agree with certain things. You know, maybe someone should come up with a game plan for things that people can do, and not have to abide by the rules of any one organization. I know I've seen a thing or two here and there, but maybe we can direct them all into one place. I for one think that localization of this project is the way to go. If it weren't for the phobia of knocking on doors I'd say we could all go from door to door with a petition. That was actually my wife's idea, and I said "What are you nuts, we did that once, haha". Actually, I'd do it again myself, I don't have a problem with it. At least this time I know I have a good message.
It is easy to criticise and yes, find things that have been done wrong, but it would be wrong to "throw out the baby with the bathwater" and dismiss SL completely because of a few mistakes. I know I too have been just as guilty of doing this.
This is true as well, but then again we can't blame those that do give up. Everything in life is made up of choices, and for some enough is enough. I know mistakes are made by everyone, no-one is immune, but rectifying those mistakes is the sign of a learned experience.
I think instead it would be helpful to approach it in terms of "why would Bill be saying / doing this?". Maybe it's the pressure that he is under? Maybe he needs our help (without any strings attached).
I'm willing to help the cause in whatever way I'm needed. Since I've been kicked out of the SL 'loop' I'll have to find my own way, and I suggest other's do as well, those of us that can't or won't work with SL. It's one thing to criticize when you're actually doing something yourself, it's totally different if you sit around and complain and do nothing. Not that I'm talking about anyone in particular, but that's what I figured out for myself. Problem is, when you try and do that, you yourself end up being on the criticized end of the stick. But even if people just spread the word. Leave flyers at the Dr's office, or the supermarket.....everywhere.....or a message on the backside of all your outgoing mail, ads in money savers (Many are free for nonprofit).....even telling your co-workers, and friends....That's the kinds of things we can be doing, and it can mean saving lives....

As far as what I know, Rush Hunt doesn't have anything to do with this anymore. But I agree, I don't like speculation either, but then again, if he'd answer the questions when asked no-one would have to speculate now would they?
Simon,
I didn't know that this thread was argumentative. I actually thought this was one of the more level minded threads on the topic. I think just about all of us pointed out the good right along with the bad. I didn't realize that this was an all out 'attack' on Bill. Like I have said, I still support the cause, and if Bill ever needed my help again, I'd lend it, and TH said the same. If I offended anyone, I apologize, I just looked at this as an adult discussion. If we feel like we can't talk about these things, then our feelings will just build up until we want nothing to do with any of this. Some good could come out of these things. Some things that people don't know, and have speculated in their heads can be answered and set their minds at ease. I agree with you on some of the threads that just go wild, but I thought we were being civilized here, and I thought we made a bit of progress as well. Also, it seems that just about everyone is in agreement on the opinion that silentlambs needs to learn to delegate matters, and that there should be a Board of Directors appointed. Who knows, if enough minds are changed surrounding Bill, maybe someone will be able to convince him of these things, and the cause will be better for it. But, it's your board, and I certainly don't want to cause problems.
I'll take the hint and fade on this subject, but just know I didn't mean any harm, just voicing my opinions, that's all. I wish all the best for Bill and his endeavors.

Well Rev, looks like SilentLambs will fall down flat on it's face. Then you pick up the pieces and take over from there. RevMalk gets my vote as being the new leader to help the abused survivors and those still being abused.
I would also vote that TH take care of the media things and Rev do all the talking.
I'm not interested in taking over silentlambs, nor doing any kind of talking, like some sort of spokesperson. I don't think all this big media attention is doing much of anything. I think TH was working on some TV/Radio commercials for SL, now that's worth doing, but these big media events are forgotten in a few days by the general public. LambsRoar does what it can do, and if it's needed by the Abuse Survivors, it itself will survive by nature. As far as Bill's intentions, he's doing just fine, he's on TV all the time and it seems to work out well for him.
LambsRoar is a totally different ballgame, we're here for support of Abuse Survivors and future Abuse Victims. We're bringing in a Therapist that will be working with LambsRoar, hopefully this week, and we'll be working on an advertising and public awareness program shortly. Not necessarily to tell the world how bad the Watchtower is, but to try and find these Abuse Survivors so that we can help them. As of now I can't do much, we're way in the red as it is, but if anyone knows where we can locate a grant writer/researcher, please let us know.
Also, we're still trying to build a Board of Directors, this isn't a one man show, and never will be. It may seem a bit early for a BoD, but like expatbrit said earlier, it's better to put things in order before it's a problem. But I want to make one thing clear. LambsRoar is NOT looking to replace silentlambs, we have nothing to do with silentlambs, but we are here to help the cause itself, and silentlambs if the need arises. Our number one concern is the Lambs, not the Watchtower, and not taking the Watchtower down. That's a task that will never be accomplished, no matter how hard we try. All we can do is lend a helping hand, a shoulder to cry on, resources for the victims and survivors, promote public awareness, and heal.

Is there a board of directors, as this phrase would indicate?
Yes, there's a Board of Directors, Bill and his wife. And that's all there'll ever be.
The way I see it.

What do you do...?
by Brummie inwhat do you do when you see jw family or jws who were once good friends on the street?
do you look at them and give them the opportunity to snub you?
or do you take the initative to cross the road and look the other way before they do it?

I don't have an axe to grind, I'm merely conversating. What the hell do I care what he does with silentlambs, I was DF'd anyway, haha.
That's what we adults do, discuss things, it's a funny human feature.
