I am a counselor/therapist working with a practicing Jahovah's Witness client. In our field one of the things we pay attention to is when the sessions will end. This is important to the client since the objective is to solve the presenting problem and there are insurance limitations. This includes being sure the client understands from the beginning there will be an end, reminding them of the end during sessions and entering the end stages toward a termination of the counselor/client relationship. This is important for many reasons, if anyone would like to know more feel free to ask.
My question is in terms of how a Jahovah's Witness might end a relationship? Say for example, a witness gets a job transfer and will be relocating to a different state and distance makes it impractical to remain a member of their current Kingdom Hall and to join another hall in the new state. What might be a traditional Jahovah's Witness ending with fellow worshipers toward leaving their current Hall and joining a Hall in the new state? Is there a celebration or set of cultural/religious steps they might do or say at the end of their relationship at their current Hall? What might be offered to give meaning to the end of such a relationship I have with a client who is a Witness?
Thank you in advance for helping me with this question,
Mark
