We would do so-called early morning witnessing, go to field service meeting and go get breakfast and call it a day. I found any way to get out of going door to door, it turns my stomach just thinking about it.

Going out in service.
by Fader812 ini loved going out in service, i would empty my book bag out on the counter at the laundromat, walk out and go get a doughnut, i had a lot of hours and placements on my time card.
i really hated talking to people, the anxiety was too much for me to handle, good thing my service partner felt the same way..

The beard issue
by Ray Frankz inthis is my second topic here.
sorry for this biiig post.
i would like to tell you guys about one of the things that bothered me most, despite of being something quite simple, but since it affected me directly, so.... well, being a ministerial servant, i knew the bad view the jw in general have towards beards.

It's all about a corporate image, Jesus must have had the first Norelco electric razor. If this was the TRUE religion, it would have not changed since the beginning, no "new understanding", beards, holidays or trying to sweep the older teachings under the rug, "you can get rid of those old bound volumes, we have new control tactics now". The Overlapping Generation did me in, I ask people to explain it to me and all I see is a deer in the headlights. The best thing that I ever did was to move to an area where people dont know me, grow a beard and fade away.

I'm giving up in 2017! (More steps in my fading)
by Skepsis inwhen i joined this site at the beginning of this year, i was serving as an uber-zealous regular pioneer and ms in a foreign congregation where the need is greater.
i was giving public talks and having parts at regional conventions.
had started to have doubts but i hadn't time to focus on them, i simply was overcharged with so many activities and things to do.. i started by quitting pioneering but couldn't think i would give further steps for a long time.

It's kinda strange, weeks after you start to fade, you start to think straight and you realize that all these rules and regulations are designed to keep you locked up in the organization. It's really about money.

After being in the so-called "Truth" makes me despise all religions.
by Fader812 inafter being a jw made me lose trust in religion, from the lies, hypocrisy and greed of this organization made me lose faith completely.
what does one do after this mind f$%@, what is there to look forward to?
do i make up my own agnostic theory in head and hope for the best?

I'm where you are, I was raised a Catholic also and my parents found the so-called Truth and thats when my childhood started to suck, I was old enough to look forward to the holidays and birthdays, I was told education was not important and college wasn't an option, no sports, nothing! Gosh, what a FUCKED UP religion, Jehovahs people are not happy people, they are a stressed the fuck out, used, abused and programed. Now I know how the people with the signs outside the assemblies felt "let my family go", I was told "Dont look at them!" and now I tell my family not to answer the door. Sorry had to vent, I feel like I've been scammed out of my happiness.

Yes, a major ass. There was no love, just pain and humiliation. I lost out on some of the best years of my life trying to recruit people that didnt care and whatever I did it was not good enough because there was always somebody getting more hours than you.

And you cant masturbate, that alone will make a teenage boy lose his mind from guilt and sexual frustration, but you can get married at 18 so you can breed more JW's because thats the only way the organization can grow.

Beards a-poppin!
by neat blue dog ini live in a pretty conservative area of the united states, and in the past two decades i can remember 2, that's right, two instances of seeing a jw with a beard in my area.
(not counting myself at times, 😜, and i'm obviously not counting bearded visitors dressed in casual clothes).. however at this year's convention, i saw about a dozen bearded jws .
this is like an explosion where i live.

They are losing a grip on their corporate image?
