These threads aren’t about informing, they are about proselytizing. I really think these forums should be a proselytizing free zone.
Its sad people can’t see though the bullshit.
part 1 - protein functional redundancy.... part 2 - dna functional redundancy.... imagine you are teacher with suspicions that some of your pupils have been copying from each other.
comparing the correct answers in all of their assignments might not provide conclusive evidence.
they could simply claim they had all carefully revised the same textbooks so it shouldn't be surprising that they all gave the same answers.

what were some of the derogatory things you heard or said about house holders?
.
i was taught that if they didn't answer the door & you knew they were in it was always that they had a guilty conscience..
I just literally 5 mins ago just had two Mormons knock on my door. They asked if I would like to hear the gossip of jesus christ. I told them no thanks but invited them in to warm up and asked if they would like some hot chocolate.
They said no thanks but asked if I know anyone who would be interested in the message. I pointed to the elder who lives two houses down from me. I asked if I could watch what happens.
Hi we are from the church of jesus christ of latter day saints...................slam. Too funny.

About six month ago an Elder approached me and asked me if I would re-start my study. I told him with the current WTS shunning policy for even as much as disagreeing with anything the society teaches, I don’t think if it possible to have a sincere discussion about anything biblically related.
He continued to push the point till I just flat told him “I think you just hand out magazines you don’t understand to people who don’t want them to keep your family from shunning you. That is all you are about “.
I highly doubt there is any real sincerity too all these so called science threads other than to annoy. Like I said before, if you were really sincere you won’t be here.

You don’t get it
This isn’t about creationism vs evolution or theist vs atheists.
If I wanted to talk football I would hang out at NFL.com
If I wanted to talk muscle cars I would hang at hotrodworld.com
Do you see a common theme?
I am tired of scrolling past your shit every day pretending your Bill Nye the science guy.

Remember when you were a little dub and you would litter the world with your watchtower magazines thinking you making a difference. Your daily evolution thread is becoming quite redundant complete with the same arrogance of most relentless uber pioneer.
If anyone is truly interested in the subject enroll in your local university or read a book because this is all becoming quite annoying.
so im at my moms the other day, and there lay the latest january study issue has an article about the whole made up silly story of the upper room and the holy spirit.
[ how hard it is to be quiet....] .
i have never read acts, and saw that story happen.
I can’t believe there wasn’t a bigger uproar over the new understanding of the FDS. Too me they essentially took everything they taught over the last 100 years about this magical class of Christians and just threw it away.
I really wish the average JW knew how academically irresponsible to create core doctrine around the book of revelations.
there are seven men who proclaim to be the faithful and discreet slave.
but, are they?
You would think of god’s plan for the salvation of human would be to give us seven magical men and only though our obedience and works to these men do we have a chance to survive the impending Armageddon ………………it would have been a teaching consistent with the bible ?
Outside of twisting a parable into a prophecy ( which is very questionable ) , is this teaching found anywhere else? You think god would have clear about this subject if it was so important.
( Some of my favorite questions for the dubs )
seems to be quite a few posters recently pulling down the beliefs of jw's as not biblical or truly christian.
maybe you're right, maybe you're wrong, i really don't care.. in some important ways though mainstream christians often behave better than jehovah's witnesses; most don't practice shunning or impose lethal medical prohibitions on their members.
many are far more tolerant of the lgbt community and a few even make the awkward attempt to square the fact of evolution with their faith.. please note that i'm saying some, not all.. so i suppose it's fair to say that differing forms of christianity can be better or worse for individuals, families and the wider community.
I believe on the day of Pentecost in the book of act that Gods people became the church instead of the nation of Israel but in Romans it says god isn’t done with the Jews.
I really don’t have a lot of time right now but basically the run of the mill evangelical mumble jumble.
The biggest lie the devil wants you to believe he isn’t real. I visited the holocaust museum as a kid. You don’t face that type of evil and question things. How the fuck could another human gas children all day. It was a factory of death.
Just my two cents.

The term Jew is actually kind of unique because it means both a religion and ethic group at the same time. Technically you can have gentile Jews but it is not encouraged with Jewish faith to have outsiders convert. You can be a Catholic and still be considered a Jew. Actually 200,000 Catholic jews died in the holocaust.
The Holocaust is one of the reasons I still believe in the bible. How could people devote so much time and energy to trying to wipe these people that ¾ of the bible is written about.

When I was growing up I went to an evangelical non-denominational church. We had our core beliefs but we weren’t really that dogmatic. There could be certain levels of disagreement on theology and that was Ok.
Going to a Kingdom Hall is just bizarre to me. Building core doctrine on the prophetic books of the books, twisting parables into prophesy and foaming at the mouth at the destruction of worldly people.
The thing that really scared me the most was the horrible things they would say about other churches and the sheer arrogance of the people. Growing up I thought we were all in it together as Christians. Apparently not.
The more I learn it seems to be anti-Christianity to me.
