I hope you realize the likelihood this isn’t going to work at 44? I am not trying to be a jerk, I have been down this path and it’s full of heartache. We were told when I was 40 and she was 38 by a doctor unless you are really rich ( which we are not) that I am most likely just taking your money.

The Heresy of Neutrality
by Perry inthe one thing that keeps jw's worshiping the watchtower corporations more than (or as much as) anything else is the issue of neutrality.
neutrality is such a benign sounding word isn't it?
it even sounds religious.
-

The doctrine of neutrality requires a person to believe that everyone is the moral equal of each other.
American solider =ISIS terrorist, United States=North Korea. It is just asinine
If the bible says love they neighbour and someone is putting your neighbour onto the death trains of Auschwitz, I am not exactly sure working as janitors and babysitters for the SS is as Christian as they think it is.

CONSPIRACY THEORISTS at your door
by Terry inisn’t the watchtower society valuable because it gets people talking about important issues in our world?.
hell no!.
this argument presupposes that jehovah’s witnesses are ethically neutral–that if the core doctrine (the truth) is not true, its untruth is harmless, but if (by wild coincidence) the governing body of this organization happen to aim a wayward arrow at some real-world issue that needs addressing, the watchtower is a net positive because it directed, at least, some energy toward addressing essential issues of life.

I don’t know if the average Jehovah Witness realizes how the insertion of the name Jehovah in the New Testament changes the entire doctrine of the bible. Not really a subject I need to get into but when the foundation of your beliefs is the bible has been changed? What do you really believe in?

Charles Darwin was not an Atheist
by LAWHFol inpersonally i have the same viewpoint of darwin, when he said : " the safest conclusion seems to me to be that the whole subject is beyond the scope of man's intellect".
i'm not trying to convince anyone about the existence or non existence of god.. rather, i encourage everyone to keep seeking.
keep searching for the truth that makes the most sense to them.. darwin is the grand father of evolution, and his findings and life work, did not make of him an atheist.

Is there any way we could just start a new forum that couldn’t be accessed without a second membership to just deal with Evolution, Darwin, Dawkins etc etc.

You Are Unsuitable!
by Divergent intoday's text -.
sunday, january 24. they collected the fine ones into containers, but the unsuitable they threw away.—matt.
13:48.. understanding the lesson of this illustration helps us to avoid being overly distraught or disappointed if a bible student or one of our children does not make the truth his own.

I find JWs have the same mentality of militant atheists. They start from a position they are right and everyone else is just stupid for believing what they believe.
When they start talking about Armageddon ask questions like
-Ask them to explain the difference between the church and Israel?
-Where does it say that everyone alive at Armageddon will be destroyed forever but everyone who has died has a new hope on Paradise earth?
-Ask about the concept of salvation though association and works and how only seven men enter into this new covenant with god. If this was god plan for mankind salvation wouldn’t be a consistent theme though the bible? (Other than twisting a parable)
Ask them if they ask answer any of those questions using nothing but a bible and get them to explain to you after why you are not worthy in gods eyes.

My wife cong seems to be the less successful at a life you are, the further you move up the ladder.
I swear the Ubers don't make 10000 a year. Mind you it isn't just about money. I swear they haven't even read a national geographic much less have taken a university class.
No sports, music, current events, no favorite author, no history debate, no movies , no interest in technology. I have never meet people of so little substance.

Evolution a Fact - Agreed but So What?
by LAWHFol inin many debates between believers and non believers (nb), the nb uses evolution as some sort of proof to support the non existence of god.. i agree that evolution is a fact, however i feel that evolution is proof of some sort of benevolent original cause.. if i were to create an a.i.
, i would program into it the ability to self-refactor and evolve.. i would also randomly inject viruses into the program (evil) where the a.i.
would be forced to stretch its current capabilities & modify it's operating functions in order to get through the random virus, and continue living.. with a steady flow of different viruses, the a.i.

Pointless thread. The question could have been simply asked in the hundreds of other threads on the subject. -

Satanic Temple’s Seven Tenets - Makes 10 Commandments Sound Facile
by cofty inthe so-called 10 commandments are a post-biblical construct.... there is an elohist list at exodus 20 and a yahwist one at exodus 34 that contains such gems as "you shall not cook a kid in its mother’s milk.".
any intelligent adult could create a more useful list of ethical precepts before the end of a coffee break.. it is interesting to compare the satanic temple's seven tenets.
i think you might agree that it makes yahweh's rules look like they were written by a bronze age power-hungry, misogynistic priest.

I use to have an interest in the Occult and from my research this so called Satanism it was just an extreme form of atheism which seemed more interested in pissing people off than being an actual religion.
A lot of the so called rituals were actually just developed as a mockery of Christianity. Goats instead of sheep, Drinking blood as oppose to kosor diet, inverted cross, etc etc.
Come to think of it, the JW memorial to Christ seems like a satanic ceremony.

Stupid Organization!
by stillin ina while back, a local witness lost their home in a fire.
an announcement was made at the meeting that if anybody wanted to contribute, they could do so through their service group overseer.
my guess is that this arrangement is meant to bring tears of joy to the eyes of the impoverished one, and thankfulness to "jehovah's organization.

There is a reason the false religions of Christendom actually pass the plate. I am not even sure if it got him a tank of gas to get to the next hall. -

Starlight in a Young Universe
by Perry inthe scientific method begins with a faith statement called a hypothesis, and then goes on to look for evidence, for or against support of the faith statement.. secular materialists often change their ideas on exactly how things have made themselves, but never whether they did.. the manifesto for this self imposed mental ban seems to be summed up by geneticist richard lewontin:.
‘our willingness to accept scientific claims that are against common sense is the key to an understanding of the real struggle between science and the supernatural.
we take the side of science in spite of the patent absurdity of some of its constructs, in spite of its failure to fulfill many of its extravagant promises of health and life, in spite of the tolerance of the scientific community for unsubstantiated just-so stories, because we have a prior commitment, a commitment to materialism.. it is not that the methods and institutions of science somehow compel us to accept a material explanation of the phenomenal world, but, on the contrary, that we are forced by our a priori adherence to material causes to create an apparatus of investigation and a set of concepts that produce material explanations, no matter how counter-intuitive, no matter how mystifying to the uninitiated.

Hey Cofty
See how annoying it is when people pretend to be scientists. I hope he ends up doing an entire series on the subject.
