This is a topic I am going to kill with my opening post.Why haven`t the Major religions of Christendom exposed J.W.`s as the true Apostates

i am initially thinking of the major religious institutions of christianity , catholic ,many branches , church of england , and the major protestant religions , too numerous to mention here.. after all their is 40,000 plus christian religions in the world today ?so obviously j.w.`s are not the only false religion .. so my real question is really , to do with the mainstream christian religions , why are`nt they more aggressive in their condemnation of the jehovah witness religion for their obvious failings ,flip backs ,contradictions ,prophecy`s that never eventuated , end of the world predictions ,re-inventing their past history , even distancing themselves from their past history , and their founding members , such as c.t.russell and j.f.rutherford whose policies they now reject... they need to get on board and bleed it for all it`s worth .. smiddy .

To be fair to Brother Jeramy I grew up in a town that was about 20 % Plymouth Brethen and they are literally more ruthless than the JWs. Lets say you were a husband and got disfellowed, the elders would be over later that day moving your wife and children to another house.

Plus they take that whole " Separate from the world " thing pretty dam serious. In 20 plus years I don't think I ever really shot the breeze with one of them. The funniest thing is when a new family would come to town and just figure some sunday morning they would try out their church. A couple elders would meet you at the door and ask you to leave. They are literally the most miserable dickheads on the planet.

No one denies the WTS are the only so called Christian cult that exists but in the shear number of lives destroyed no one touches the JWs.

Your entire post is the equivalent of getting caught doing something bad and ratting someone else out. Pretty weak man.

I bet your one of “ Well, I don’t believe in the GB but I don’t believe in the trinity “ types . Trust me, dig deeper, you are only half done your journey if you want to call yourself a Christian.

The other day I was in the Salvation Army book store and there was a whole pile of WTS literature. Its all donations so I collected it and brought it to counter and said “ this is JW stuff, throw it in the garbage “ . The clerk who was the majors wife looked at me I like was a total asshole. “ What makes your belief system so much better huh? “

I was just dumbfounded. Fine I will put it back.

Next day I came back and it was all missing. I am pretty sure she must have told someone about the encounter and someone set her straight.

When was I was growing up in the 80s, we were taught about the dangers WTS. Mind you the WTS was growing like gangbusters back then. It is scary how many church going folks don’t know about the dangers they pose.

The general consensus in Christianity is once you become a Christian you enter into the new covenant ( the body of Christ ) and that is your salvation. As long you believe in the basics it is pretty much all the same ( Jesus was god in the flesh, you are saved though grace etc etc ). Most of the differences in Dogma are really quite minor and unimportant. The pastor at my church (evangelical ) says you could go to Catholic church tomorrow and as long as you were sincere , it wouldn’t matter.

Now why don’t other churches have an axe to grind the JWs ? Well, JW are considered well-meaning but dangerous weirdos. We are educated about them but there are literally thousands of cults and every Sunday can’t be cult awareness week.

Also devoting every other Sunday to the Book of revelations and Daniel is stupid. Trying to crack codes and discover the identity of the whore of Babylon is stupid.

The other day some pioneer lady showed up work and asked to speak to the manager. I told her the manager was a Mormon, travels to Salt Lake City each year and even seen the golden plates. He was standing right beside me when I was saying it. How the hell we didn’t bust out laughing while she was there is beyond me.

No debate, no questions, Just a 30 second sales pitch and out the door.

I think gone are the days of any type of theology discussion. Trinity, Hellfire, immorality of the soul, anyone with a smart phone can argue will you now. The funny part that is the hard stuff. The easy stuff is showing them the stupidity of overlapping generations or how they worked backwards to 1914.

If the fanatics are starting to mail it in, I can’t even imagine how the ones just getting hours are feeling about it.

so i am a little tangled up in this train of thought, as it can go quite deep.. as a jw, albeit fully awake, we are taught that there is right and a wrong.

When I was 18 ( just before the internet ) I watched a video called “ the many faces of death “ and there was a medical video of a 24 week abortion. Till this day it is one of the most disturbing things I have ever seen.

Now was it disturbing because I grew up in a church or because I am a human with a conscience. How many people would be protesting in the street if they saw the video I saw.

I like to think people are hardwired to not do things like torture animals or have sex with children or let your children die over blood transfusions but man sometimes I wonder.

When you learn about the fall of the Roman empire, or the evils of Communism , I still believe religion has a role as a moral compass.

With all the WT's eschatology and prophetic interpretation, why is there no mention of Islam?

you'd think that the third major abrahamic religion would be of interest to the witnesses and their fanciful interpretation of just about anything written in the bible, especially with the white-hot relevance islam has in current affairs and the middle east.

not only that, islam had a huge influence on european history, with conquering armies and direct control over jehovah's supposed holy city of jerusalem.. american christian fundamentalists trip over themselves trying to connect all the dots in scripture so why hasn't the watchtower society?

The WTS society subscribe to something called “replacement theology “ where they have replaced themselves with the physical nation of Israel or Jewish people in god’s plan.

The WTS avoids using reference to Islam and what is happening in the middle east because

They are chickenshit
The bible really falls more in line with Evangelical views of end times involving Israel, Iran, Russia etc etc.
The WTS is more about attacking Christianity than trying to convert people from other religions. People in other religions are already dead, no need to doom them . ( ha ha ha , look at me going all 700 huntley street on your pagan asses).

Booklet exposing Trinity Brochure

there was a booklet that exposed the errors, deceptions and misquotes in the trinity brochure.

i think it was called something like "why should you believe 'should you believe the trinity'" or something like that lol.

it went through the society's brochure page by page, quote by quote and gave full sources etc.. does anyone know if it's still available, preferably an online copy?.

What is with JWs and this obsession with the trinity? Even the ones who have left the borg still think they have one up on people because they don’t believe in it.

When you look at the plurality of god in the Old Testament, the identity of the Angel of Lord in the old testament, the claims of Jesus Christ and how the old testament quotes are used later applying to both Jesus and his father it is pretty clear that somehow they co-existed as Jehovah, LORD, Yaweh . Oh yeah, the fact the phrase heavenly father Jehovah is never found in the bible either.

Now if you want to say the bible is complete bullshit , fine you may have an argument but to plainly deny what is written seems kind of silly.

Switching Halls

it's time for me and the mrs. to get the hell outta dodge.

recently my hall has undergone major management changes and the atmosphere is..less than ideal.

i'm getting multiple calls a week asking to set up a time to meet, i've politely declined but these guys aren't taking a hint.

My wife tried that when having trouble with a certain elder that till the congregation finally merged with the one she was hiding in.

Moved to another city, started to have the same problem and tried the same thing and that congregation merged with the one she was hiding in again.

The growth of Jehovah peoples is amazing.
