Why is the Governing Body pushing the very young(5-12 year old) into getting baptized into subservience to the Corporation?

i think a very simple reason may be because the very young are pretty much the only ones naive enough to take the plunge these days.

with the internet available to inform people about the deceptive lies printed by the wt corporation it seems that they are getting their member from the less informed population like the elderly and the very young.

they/gb hate higher education because they loose members who get one and so they are focusing on those that are dumb enough to believe their boogie man bull shit about jehovah choosing their corporation and anybody not a part of it he will destroyed at armageddon.. also we need to consider that they view these young people as a potential free labor source so the sooner you get them hooked into baptism with the threat of disfellowshipping you can get more free labor out of them..

I know an elder in my wives cong and I think it is a pretty stand-up guy. He doesn’t believe in the whole childhood baptism thing. The interesting part is he has four children and only one become a Jehovah witness.

I was told in the 80s and 90s when Jehovah witness growth was much great there was sort of a movement to discourage childhood baptism because of stories of ruined families and such by suckering kids into something they don’t understand at such a young age.

I guess they are learning if they don’t get them young now they just don’t get them at all.

personally i think this is wonderful.

i have nothing against gay people and wish them only the best.. but of course i'm in a minority of one, the jw's around me are posting away on fb the most homophobic vitriol imaginable.

a lot of them are even saying that it's the start to armageddon!!.

I heard this story on CBC radio about these two spinster sister that lived together for like 80 years , basically their entire lives. Like of like Patty and Selma from the Simpsons.

They both worked at the same job for like 50 years but at different companies. Very loyal employees.

Then the one sister dies. The surviving sister tries to collect widows benefits from the insurance company. The claim is rejected and of course it should be.

She later takes it to court and wants the definition of same sex union changed. Of course it doesn’t work but the entire story was just heart breaking. Her relationship with her sister had much more substance in terms of economics and emotions than two dudes having anal sex for 6 months.

Now where does it stop ?

I stay just leave it at a union of a man and women.

How the new US gay marriage ruling could cause trouble for the WTS

here are a couple of ways that come to mind:.

-- suppose a married gay couple, or even one of the partners, starts studying the bible with jws and decides he wants to baptized?

would the jws require him to get a divorce?

Being an UBM the WTS has a get out of jail card for the likes of me. It’s that whole “ Spiritual threatening “ crap and they won’t bat an eye about granting my wife a divorce without getting disfellowed. Hell, they would even encourage it if she went to the elders with any martial problems.

Hell I think they would be setting her up even before the ink was dry.

Being gay poses no challenges for the WTS. Homosexual unions are not recognized and you would be booted out.

You will figure it out go to collect a pension cheque that isn't there in 40 years because we didn't treat unions between men and women any different than any other union.

Marriage=families=future tax payers.

Now children aren't in the cards for everyone but that is the expection, not the rule.

In Canada you are considered common law if you live together for more than six months and in the eyes of the law you are married.

Watchtower 6/28/2015 on 1st Christian Courage, Have the Courageous Watchtower Leaders Ever Condemned Radical Islam?

i read blondie's great summary of today's watchtower lesson and thought about all the christians who died from various deaths for preaching the word and because they really believed what they preached the watchtower asked something of this sort, "if you were a christian in the early centuries, could you boldly stand up to all the exquisite tortures hurled at the first century christians because they were not afraid to take a stand for christ or be cowards to evil!".

are you aware of any condemnation made by the watchtower against radical islam or any actions showing their courage and being no part of this world?

they attack patient christian religions but what about others, where is their courage?.

The WTS is anti-Christian, not anti-false religion. That is the reason they don't give a shit about muslims, hindus, etc etc.

I have seen some debates between Christian apologists and Muslims scholars about the deity of Christ. The arguments of the Muslims is striking similar to some of arguments of the WTS. Shave the beard and put on a suit and you really couldn't tell the difference.

If you look what is happening in Greece is it pretty scary. An entire first world country is going to go bankrupt and join the ranks of the emerging markets like Mexico or Egypt. The straw that really broke the camels was an unstainable pension system. Nearly 16 % of GDP went to the paying government pensions.

I don’t care if you want to be known as Mr. and Mr. or Mrs. or Mrs but the union of marriage is for economic benefit between too people for the procreation for the species.

Now everyone is going to get to use everyone insurance plans and be entitled to each other pensions because they had sex with each other ? Fook that.

i am sure that the many recent lawsuits are being noticed by the r&f.. here are some gems from that article, titled the naive person believes every word.

Is the WTS becoming nuttier and nuttier ?

I say let em talk about 1914, or shunning, or blood, or GB every freaking week. At least it keeps the converts away. There hasn’t been a convert in my wives cong for years. Of course a few lonely weirdos show some interest till they start attending meeting and see how fucked up it is. The constant villainization of ex-member really show it for what it is.
