I remember one time we had a CO visit and we took a special collection for the visit and about 30 dubs gave him a grand total of 52 dollars.
I laughed hard when I found that out.
a while back, a local witness lost their home in a fire.
an announcement was made at the meeting that if anybody wanted to contribute, they could do so through their service group overseer.
my guess is that this arrangement is meant to bring tears of joy to the eyes of the impoverished one, and thankfulness to "jehovah's organization.

hey all.
i haven't posted in forever and a day, but i feel like this is a great place to ask this question because of so many people who are unsure of their beliefs.
my mom was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer about four years ago.
I know this isn't a very popular thing to say I do like to study NDEs. I know a lot of it is fake but man there sure seems to be a lot of weird things going on out there.
Maybe I just want to believe but it gives me hope in a strange way.
a relative has gone full-retard with jw.org on facebook.
every post is something to do with going to bethel or pioneering overseas.. the catalyst for this full-retard behavior seems to be a recent marriage breakdown (both jw's).
and the fact he was caught trying to embezzle an elderly relative's live savings.
I find it odd the Jehovah Witnesses I know don't have any trace of even being on a JW on their FB pages.
Man, the ones who go full retard with it.................LOL. Watch out
nope sorry i got nothing.. wouldn't it be really interesting though if somewhere there was a theist who could challenge unbelievers with facts and evidence?.
The self-congratulatory tone of this thread has me thinking more than a few of you might be missing the old KH.
LOL
is it just me?
is it just me?
is it just me?
You just basically repeated exactly what I said and how I find that an unsatisfactory answer.
Dawkins believes all the mysteries of the universe with enough time will be solved and prove there is no such thing as god. Its a leap of faith. His is a science theist.
is it just me?
I have listened to some of Richard Dawkins debates and when asked about the qualities that make us as human (creativity, personality, abstract thinking, and moral judgment) he always turns into a theist.
“Just because we don’t know today doesn’t mean science won’t figure it out in the future “.
I have that answer quite unsettling. No amount of copy and paste about our DNA or common ancestor and whatever which change the fact in a relatively short period of time or milli-second in evolutionary terms can explain who one species went from cave paintings to putting a man on the moon.
is it just me?
Evolution doesn’t explain an orderly universe with suitable physical laws, A fine-tuned universe, including initial conditions and physical parameters necessary for carbon-based life, a suitable planet, such as Earth, orbiting a suitable star and capable of supporting life and the existence of life in the first place. It also doesn’t explain the self-awareness of man and how one creature seems to have domain over this planet.
Believing in something that exists outside of time and space isn’t really as unreasonable as it sounds.
Theism is more about the why, science is more about the how.
