withdrawal is not defeat, but nice try. We could have held the land of goat herders indefinitely, but apparently Ole lunch bucket Joe had other ideas.
You can crow all you want about “defeats” but the Japanese showed how soft your people are and America pushed those same Japs back onto their island for good.
Let us hope the proxy war never becomes full blown war between the two real antagonists. For now even your chi-com overlords are smart enough to know a shooting war with the US of A is a losing proposition. Tragically our ruling class is too stupid and/or paid off to fight back effectively in this full blown cold war, so ultimate victory may yet belong to china.

While i agree that private property rights are under attack, there was a play here. While there was an eviction moratorium there was also a mortgage moratorium as well. There was no financial qualification necessary, the owner simply had to claim a hardship. Its imperfect but owners did have some financial relief if renters didnt pay.

Stop making sense, Anony. The point isnt that logic or reason should used in making these determinations, the point is someone FEELS something and FEELING that you need an experimental and ineffective vaccine against a fairly benign disease is all thats counts. Whats more, its not enough that they take their ineffective vaccine, they need to FEEL good that you it too. After all, “they” know best.
