Well friends how about another update straight from the mole in the Treasurers Office?
Fact: Tens of thousands of Bethelites have taken a vow of poverty and live/work in branches all over the world.
Fact: They all get a stipend based on local need, "cost of living", tenure, ect. Sure room, board, and the 'Bethel boutique' provide most things but these people still have needs (travel home, tampons, McDonalds, ect). Whatever the case it ain't much money they personally get.
Fact: A large portion of them are sent gifted money from family and friends.
Fact: Bethelites are given specific direction to never have family and friends directly send them money.
Fact: Normally, there is a trail. If money is sent via post it must be claimed through customs + ergo someones taxes. If money is wired, there is also a trail and it must be claimed on someones taxes. "This can cause problems for the branch."
Fact: Via the treasurers office they facilitate routing person to person money through their internal non-profit financial systems. The sender makes a 401c "donation" to WT Attn: US Treasurers office earmarked for Brother Bobby or Sister Tammy and au voila, off it goes tax free and untraceable. The Bethelite on the other end receives into their Bethel account @ some branches and others they are given a local branch disbursement check to locally cash.

A few things from the WT Treasurers Office:
>Stephen Lett was 100% honest in stating some time ago on a monthly broadcast that more money was flowing out than was flowing in. Of course the money he was talking about flowed out of a $40-50 billion USD worldwide asset pool. [Its going to take a lot of $40 million dollar lawsuits to make a dent]. I was reminded that there is a huge difference between annual revenues (700m-1.5b) and WWAV world wide asset values that can be drawn from.
>Times are changing. Publisher growth has slowed. In the digital world trend, people don't want magazines and books. The WT machine is adjusting to that. Brooklyn $2bn selloff + all the equipment/assets in those buildings sold off. 20% reduction in WW project costs. Investments (relatively cheap) in 20 year (cloud) data infrastructure. Free remote workers by the thousands. 3rd party outsourcing in construction, transportation, and A/V departments.
>No chronic financial problems. Just acute expenditures requiring that best course business decisions be made. As of my last conversation (02/2019) there are a thousand KH building projects going on during any given month world wide.
>The Russian Federation asset seizure rocked the GB and Treasury Dept with much indignation (like $125 million worth). The WT corp frustration was primarily taken out counsel that originally structured what was held as a "bulletproof" way for US corp to own Russian property and circumnavigate the Russian legal system. (not exact comparison but think: view towards foreign embassy property/diplomatic property in the USA)
>Constantly on the financial planning agendas: what to do when non-profit/religious assets are subject to federal/state/local taxation.
More to come.

Yes, Watchtower has $40 million cash they could get their hands on immediately. One would be wrong (at this time) to think otherwise.
This is a Supersedas Bond or "Appeal Bond". Watchtower has been in bed with Travelers Insurance for decades and they have held WT's hands through many Risk Mgmt, Trucking, Construction Liability, Property, ect...endeavors. This $40,000,000 case is no different.
https://www.travelers.com/iw-documents/surety-bond/56148-appeal-bonds.pdf
This court requires a bond to be in place UP FRONT through the appeal process as often, major companies will drag things out in appeal so they can "go broke" on the books and ultimately have nothing to eventually be able to give should they loose on appeal.
In essence: Watchtower would rather pay a fee to Travelers to handle the bond work vs. directly offer up a even more publicized lien on one of their sizable real estate assets. Behind the scenes Travelers will lock down the risk as they will not put their neck on the line for $40 mil based on WT's credit rating alone.
I am not an attorney, but I play one on TV (joke) + having a long time PIMO friend in the WT Treasury Dept helps (no joke).

Wisdom Needed
by Solzhenitsyn in2 things.
from your experience would you say that capitulation (going along with) and/or enforcement of all the ridiculous rules and sub-minutia (stupid crap: beards, wash the car for sat svc, no tight pants, paint the kh with a 2" brush vs. a 4" brush cause the boe says so) rules are primarily made possible or facilitated by the friendships that are maintained within the borg?
also, would you say you saw yourself as part of the power structure or subject to it?.

I (and my therapist) have really been looking for deeper reasons why I bought into this destructive cult for so many decades to help me gain closure and freaking move on. WHY CANT I MOVE ON DAMMIT?! Why does everything still get run through a JW filter? Argh...

When you were an active JW, did you ever have dealings with a pyramid scheme?
by Tameria2001 ini'm not sure why this memory popped up, and i was wondering if any others, when they were still active jw had dealings with a pyramid scheme involving other witnesses in the organization?
at the time it was 1993, and my husband and i were still newlyweds.
once in a while, we would attend a neighboring congregation because that was where he grew up, and some of his family was still attending there at the time.

For many years MANY of us elders used this site: http://centralprint.net/talks/ to capture (plagiarize) dozens of Public Talks i gave. WT legal shut him down about a year ago which was just in time for my fade. Since he has posted many on youtube to skirt the legal desk: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCU7OXi1FisDXoPM0P7hhBaw/videos
I got a kick out of one CO we had out in Athens, GA. Wow, he was a Cracker Barrel lovin redneck who bucked the system just a little. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OHTNsY77hk [EX: 13:15 and 29:14]

So a recent post by a troller linked to a YouTube vid of the midweek meeting stream: https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/5119948566298624/great-announcement
Just assuming everyone knows that this is the congregation in Pt. Richie, FL that WT uses for all the shut ins approved for logging into www.stream.jw.org with the privilege of getting their meetings at home. They were available to stream (permissions granted local cong admin: usually COBE or SEC) a day after they were recorded. Sunday meeting were always available Monday and the the Pt. Richie midweek meeting was on Mondays and posted Tuesday.
I loved this "provision from Jehovah" because I never had to actually work up any of my Thursday midweek meeting talks. As the COBE I gave myself permission, logged in, watched the part, took notes, got on the stage in my local KH and regurgitated the whole thing. Taa daa.
Please tell me I'm wasn't the only PIMO elder in recent years who did this!?
