Demon possesion, bunch of crap or?

i've been using the forum to vent and post a lot more frequently lately as a venting purpose & way to obtain peace of mind with the craziness i've been going through recently as i fade away form the org.

anyways today i'm sitting here at work and thinking to myself about demons... ok i know this sounds crazy but has anyone else out there been traumatized by the thought of demons?

i had a dream the other night, just flat out spooky and i woke and couldn't help but feeling it may have been evil ole' satan and his demons at it again.. i don't want to believe that, (trying not to, & just brushing it under the rug so to speak) but have any of you out there been talked up about demons?

Today we have TV series, ghost & demons horror movies, war & crime series, hounters creepers, thrillers, ghostbusters and hundreds of fantasy books with vampirs and all kind of mightful mad characters.

Human anxiety about the evil and the absolute evil is a reality and is deep in us. We like to act out the dramatic reality of evil in our imagination. That is simply how we deal with the possibilty that the infinite evil exists and what we would do if we came in that situation. Its thrilling and fascinating to watch and even to play.

Each culture and religion had its demons and customs and perhaps they were naive for our modern understanding but it always turned around the really existing evil or the mad nature and that human could change their character and went the way to their and others ruin

Yes I am glad to know of the blessing that God is coming out of heaven is close to us, even so close that God calls the mankind - the bride of christ - with a special name "city of God", Gods "New Jerusalem".

That is an indication that within the congregation the hope of new jerusalem becomes visible already in the present time, because the bride of christ already exists now and not only after the millenium.

It means too that the congregation is called to become a happy city, to the symbol of living together in peace and interpersonal relationships.

All men and people of the earth are in this image already now gathered in this city - a city that is quasi gods dwelling or tent on earth (Rev. 21,3).

Its clear that these earthly blessing are earthly, and I personally believe in earthly blessings, and I believe that some are happening now, as jesus is already king, and the coming of others we will have to expect what will come.

I was quite irritated too by the course of the events from now on until the "new heavens and new earth", what would be the last blessing and would not happen before the 1000 years of horrible examinations have ended.

I always thought that soon after the 1000 year paradise would begin, the resurrection would start and that was for me same as the "tears will be no more, death will be no more" becoming true. (21:4)

But in reality in the course of events as presented in Revelation this "earthly blessing" is not happening within the 1000 years at all, but only after them. Revel. 21:1-4 is the ultimate event.

Thats the big problem that arises: That "Tears will be no more, death now more" is part of a single event once happening as last dimension in the "new heavens and new earth" and not before ...

But the 1000 year millenium is taught to happen before the new heavens and new earth will come into existence and it would last 1000 years. And as the the millenium is not the same as the new heavens and new earth how could death be no more be part of the milllenium?

This would lead to the thesis that the resurraction in the millenium of unrightous is not the end for the adamic death yet, and that people will die in the millenium, no ever regenerating bodies, no automatic healing the rising unrighteous but they will have to wait for the Heavens&earth event to become again resurrected.

Since such a multiple resurraction and dying would be senseless, something in the whole stories does not fit together

it has been 21 years since the 1995 article that pretty much buried the idea of the '1914 generation'.. remember those guys?

the ones born in 1914 that would still be alive when the end of the system arrived.. i'm glad i'm old enough to remember going from door to door, preaching this belief.

the reason i say that is because i have a lot of 'still in' jw friends and family.

There is a reason why JW systematically are not allowed reading old litereature of their own religion, it is even sanctioned to study old books of watchtower, because reading old books would lead to complete desillusion in the membership, because the changing doctrines are not a sign of progress in enlightenment but of something else.

Dont forget the 144000 members of the heavenly class that will receive heavenly blessing after death and used for decades Rev. 21,4 in field service. Would not for them "death will be no more" apply too, when they switched from earthly sphere to heavenly sphere?

So for one of the anointed who got to heaven after many years of earthly service the "death will be no more" (Rev.21,4) would apply too. Then logically "death no more" has as as result not solely an "earthly" blessing but as result a "heavenly" blessing too .

Otherwise the anointed shall not sing the kingdom songs any longer or use the passage if it had no heavenly blessing too.

We could ask the person if he agrees that in order for something to be no more, it had to exist in the first place. Likely, he will say yes. Then we could point out that there has never been death in heaven; people die only here on earth. Logically, then, Revelation 21:4 must be referring to future blessings here on earth.

Was is not sometimes intuition instead of logical conclusions that lead to new discoveries? Perhaps this matter behaves likewise. As with einstein whose intution and playing through of scenarios lead him to new discoveries that are only attested nowadays, so much later.

My brother died last night

i found out this morning that my brother died last night, he was also an ex jw, 73 years old and died of heart disease and kidney failure.

it was not totally unexpected, as he had been in poor health, but it's a blow, especially as i just lost another brother two years ago.

there were six of us, now only four.

The two paths of exJWs

it's easy to think of exjws as being a single amorphous group but the more i think about it, the more i believe that there are two distinct sub-groups and wonder if you agree.. there are those who believe and those who don't.

i know that seems obvious but let's break it down a bit more.

there are those who don't and never believed and some who are looking for a religion to match their beliefs.. i used to think this split would be between born-ins and converts but of course it's possible for born-ins to be believers although i suspect that many, like with other faiths, do so simply because they have never experienced anything else or made a conscious choice.

Biking (faith) is wonderful vehicel for sport, recreation, exercise and transport. As has been stated, a quick decition is mostly wrong. If we want to bike (faith) we should try different models and producers and place ourselves on the seat and cruise around in the shop or yard. Some bikes are quite expensive and you can choose an unique individual setting. In any case testing the bike (testing faith) before you buy it is recommendable. If you only tried one at the first best shop and would always use that one, how can you imagine or improve your driving style or do you want to adapt your lifestyle to your beloved one-and-only bike instead of trying out different forms of biking? (smirking)

Sadly enough for JW the bike (faith) however that is widely accepted as tool for recreation and family activies has been misused for their means by monopolisating as tool for their endtime-race. They go so far to say: only one bike (one faith) for the endtime and only one path up to the mountain with practically no free choice to select orientations, framesettings and tastes.

They dont see that this is a blind alley, no they say they have the bike for the "narrow path". No different life style purposes, goals or tastes for sporty fellows but simple the narrow path. The explorative sporty fellow tries different bikes that are made for mountainbikerallies and jumping races in town and country to fully utilise a bike's significance and exhaust the bike's sense.

In contrast the "JW bike" (faith) called the "narrow one" gives the impression of a not dangerous classical conservative bike (faith), a boring urban, city or maximal longdistance bike but in reality the bike (faith) is used for an exploiting and dangerous "hell race".

JW say their bike (faith) is a tool for cruising on the paths to the tops of the mountain of God, its a race to Zion, isnt it, they say. The only right path would be therefore "the narrow one" which is prepared by the route control by Bro Franzs followers. This route has to be taken now and no else one, the devoted latter day bikers are taking up the competition, the race to the mountain of zion ....this happens in our days everywhere.

They wont tread the route by feet or donkeys..."We shall not think that God made mountain bikes (organisations's faith) simple for individudal sports activities (individual thought)" said the president and added "the correct usage of a Zions mountain bike (Org=arch) which we call "the narrow one", counts and is our key for entering the kingdom fluently without problems and scaling up the diffcult and slithery terrain."

Then he mentions some testimonials of backseatdrivers. " Some even pimped up their bike (faith) to make big jumps over hills or houses to be faster in the paradise and thought they acted clever and smart by doings so, but this variation was for them a danger. Note: they thought in forward , jumped with the bike, and were kicked out lately, because they jumped somewhere else.

Others thought an electric bike (convenient faith) would be an advantage (slowing down preaching activities, only sitting and chilling around on the saddle, thinking that the saddle itself does the efforts in field service and bears the sitter to the top). Remember those examples in your preperations...

But even for those who used the correct mountain bike (faith) correctly he had a saying "Some got week bikers though riding "the narrow one" they became week bikers - who were not fully corresponding to the "easy understandable Organisationalist instructions" and so they slowed their speed and got in danger too. Why? Because they were kicked out into the stones and thistles by there fellow companions who were cruising faster and passed them left and right brutally during the race, so it got the name "hell race".

For those who were kicked out justifiably of the race and off the path by better corresponding organisationalists in spite of everything what had been told them (hold on to the path, use the bike correct, take the narrow road, concentrate yourself, correct bike, competitors) the president had some words of comfort though."We know your are now in a desperate situation with two or more paths, but it is well deserved you know. Dont disturb our race to the top and come back on your saddle! You well know only with effort you will succed and that you wont reach the mountain of zion any longer without our saddle.

Thrown into the thistles and thorns most JW are thinking about the bikes (faithes) more intensively. Some are really dissapointed of the speedy race to the end, but they are somehow addicted or accustomed to the race per se and and then they try other bikes (faiths) some even other fundamentalist, but they are on their own way of a progress. The president says "They take part in slope races of the fallen ones" though. They dont listen to him any longer. They are studying the bike and try to understand for the first time what a bike (faith) is made of and for and looking for possibilities how a bike (faith) could serve them better. They are later accustomed hobby bikers that slowed there speed use the bike from time to time and threw away the old monopolized bike and then enjoy their new bike (faith) as medium for recreation, family activity or technical/scientific studies.

They began to understand that what matters is the attitude how you bike, fullhearted, merciful, reliable and not the a special bike (faith) monopol.

They understand the bike better so and are not afraid trying out other ones any longer. As most Ex dont like the speed anymore, the hast, the skelter and a single goal of the organisationalists but use the bike (faith) for upbuiling exercise, silent sport and recration, without constant fundamentalist propaganda, there is plenty of paths standing open for them.

But they are cautious. Although they had got caught by the president earlier and were trained to follow narrow instructions of submission they now avoid other forms of authorities, propaganda and advertisment which are not likeable at all for christians and others though they are very expensive sometimes. Also they avoid often the rush and hasting for idols, money, success, amusement, well-being because this would be other not good races. They dont follow other bike (faith) monopolits or bikers club organisationalists because they see the danger in taking part in any dangerious form of race.
