  last year kic 8462852 (tabby’s star) made headlines as a possible - although far fetched - candidate for an alien mega-structure.

  while there isn’t yet any evidence of this audacious hypothesis, i thought it would be a good idea to explain why this star is so unique and also give an update on the current science being done to study the star.

  Watching the Rio Olympics? What's your sporting interest?

  i haven`t seen much if anything on the rio olympic games on this forum , i can`t believe their is so little interest in such a sporting event that is televised world wide.. i don`t get to watch everything , but events i do like to see when i can are,track and field ,gymnastics ,swimming , diving ,and their are a few other sports i will watch when they are on , especially if an australian is involved.. how about you ?

  whats your favourite sport to watch ?.

  has the "drug" issue affected your view of the games ?

  the biggest regret i have is of 'shunning' persons who were disfellowshipped and for 'marking' ones deemed as bad association.. there's no way i can approach these people to ask them for forgiveness as i've emigrated to another country however, by this post i'd like it to be known..

  jw's are always claiming that they are the only religion that preaches and uses the name jehovah, and that is why only they will be saved.

  Jehovah is an errorneous construct, lately an artificial name, without following the rules of
  credible language study, it sounds perhaps beautiful and got modern because nobody was aware of the error, and its usage was a misrispect of the old tradition not to spell the holy name of god. But as it is not the real spelling of Gods name in hebrew anyway (as it was spelled by the Highpriest), even this doesnt matter, and God will not be angry about it.

  Its usage in songs or art can be treated or seen as an artwork or unnecessary hobby or overexageration of those not aware of history of the name. Its a name like all other names to a certain extent. It is no capital sin though to use the name as" jehovah", but it is not correct or respectful towards Jews.

  But it is a sin to make false prophesies under reference of this name, while identifiying it as gods only own name. And to bring separtion into families by shunning under reference of this "holy" name.

  To misuse the name "Jehovah" in the term "JW" for the purpose of founding a new religion was the only way that Rutherford could save the cult of dying out and make it his own, because "Russelites" and "biblestudents" were not following Rutherford anymore, because he taught things that Russel did not preach of.

  Is the NWT really the only bible that gives in Gal. 6,16 the impression that christians replace Israel and are now the new Israel of God ?

  Whereas according to other Bibles like the old KJV or Luther-bible Paul sends blessings to all saints AND to Israel ...
  " And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God"

  the holy NWT changed its former text that again that read "even upon the Israel of God" to the new "yes, upon the Israel of God", what gives the impression that Pauls words where only meant for the New spiritual Israel.

  Was Luther not able to translate the bible correctly .....the greek words:

  καὶ ἐπὶ τὸν Ἰσραὴλ τοῦ θεοῦ?

  Look my google translates even this bible passage quite good and better than NWT!!

  
  

  Okay here is a study of a baptisst about this that even supports the JW view. Obviously even this "and" can be interpreted in different ways but it should it be translated otherwise?

  Convention

  gorby is as you know a long time fader.. visited the convention this weekend.. and concluded that samuel herds talk about hope was not so bad at all, it was well balanced.

  made some good points.. knowing both sides of the medallion, have to admit he was humble with a focus on hope.. the saturday drama impressed me.

  of course, there is a lot to say about the organization, this professional produced movie in a "true story" scenario, gave me the insight that hope is important for suffering people.

  Audiobible NWT

  i took a look a the org video about the new audiobible and the production process.. most disturbing for me is that the voice of bro.

  jackson seems to be always the voice of jesus throughout the bible.

  he was the gb member who made the appearance in the australian child abuse commission.. i dont like his voice as jesus and will never listen to the audio bible therefore.. what me wonders much is, how much work those sis and bros do to identify similar speakers in the four gospels so that always the same speaker speaks and how they handle that.. to cover the whole bibel 1000 speakers have been identified and will be trained in reading correctly.. some questions are if the bible says that jehovah speaks, did he really speak himself or something else or if a passage says that the apostel said something, who of the apostels was it actually?.
