Why blame the Watchtower?
by deegee inif god has a relationship with every christian and every christian is praying to him then wouldn't he tell every christian the same thing so that christians would agree on matters of doctrine and practice?.
it is certainly puzzling why sincere and devout people equally seek god's will and pray to him yet they all come up with different answers so that there are approximately 40,000 different christian denominations (center for the study of global christianity (csgc) at gordon-conwell theological seminary).. before his death, jesus called for agreement among his followers rather than division (john 17:20-21).
he declared that he would send the holy spirit to guide persons into all the truth (john 14:16 - 17, 26, john 15:26, john 16:7,13 - 15).. so shouldn't anyone who has a relationship with jesus, reads the bible, and listens to the holy spirit come to the same conclusions as others who are doing the same thing?.

I blame the watchtower ONLY for INHUMAN practices of a cult not for human errors.
If a group of christians seperates itself by saying we have only the truth and resigns to speak with all other who call themselves christians this group is establishing a sect. The sect gives up the community, the Eucharist community, or doesnt celebrate the Lord supper togehter with other christians. Thats a cult.
If Jesus meant with unity the Eucharist unity or an organisational unity or a more philosophical unity can be subject of further discussion. But the most imortant for unity is talking with others.
Only by talking, debating, dicsussing with friends you can "separate the spirits", (what is from god and what no) find out wether your argmuments or thoughs are reasonable. If the watchtower talked with other christians they would find out e.g. how a modern church discipline looks like, but they avoid education.
There are today many religious orders within the christian faith, they have different programmes, life styles,e.g. the cistercian. JWs could be an religious order in unity with the global church, whether orthodox or protestant or something else wouldnot matter, but they are excommunicating themselves from the unity.
Despite that sectiarian attitude the christians dont hate JWs and the members of the JWs, they are "only one face" of the christian faith for us. JW wear the face or mask of zealous fighters who avoid company with the world. Arianism was one face of christians, in the early church, christian belief had many faces and so it is today. Diversity can even make sensible for new more facetes of christian faith and the necessity of loving each other.
Unity of faith doesnt exclude variety. Even variety of interpretation. The christian faith is the result of debating in rabbinic style about the bible. Even in the 1st century there was everything open and ready for change and debate .
For the modern church the JW are also christians, although outsiders of own decision.
It doenst turn about giving up culture, customs in any case. What did jesus mean really about unity, a unity of all mankind not only the group of preachers, that was already the spirit of the gospels?

I like the region, so many lakes, I didnt know that so near to New York so many parks are.
Unfortunately I am not there and I cant afford it. I was interested to know where that famous new headquarters was and found out that the region is really very beautiful. So I am only googling and sharing some findings with you. But perhaps someday who knows, i will visit America.

If we stood at the top of the "Big Beech Mountain" that is more a higher ridge than a real mountain and looked from there" not eastwards towards the Blue Lake but westwards we would see a much larger lake, namely the Greenwood Lake.
This would be a good spot for looking after an accomodation to sleep and to spend our evening. Next day we could make a boat trip for the beginning.

Elders/Ex-Elders: Question about Blood
by JWdaughter inafter many years of objecting to the wt teachings on many levels, blood being one of them, i recently started to wonder (ok, i am slow!
) : what exactly does the wt think that the early non jewish christians were abstaining from in the blood abstention bit.
while i understand the context of the request that the apostle sent to the brothers, i do not understand what jws think they were abstaining from.. meat slaughtered improperly?.

That could serve as answer, but it sounds really odd.
The Governing Body knows about that allegations and in 2004 to the opposite it called the zealous Jews "hypocrites" by applying Matthew 23,23,24 to them. Those zealous hypocrites would have forgotten the deeper meaning of the law and had invented unnecessary "draining rituals", which the GB called "varied reactions" to the divine law. Such zealousness and hyocracy had lead them to disregard the sense of the law, namely justice, mercy and faithfulness.
Consequently the Governing body thinks that any form of complicated draining "rituals" can be called hypocracy because they are unneccesary. It should have remained in the beliefers conscience how to drain an animal even under the mosaic law what the hypocrites neglected though.
The modern time governing body like 1st centruy GB-Apostoloci council is well aware of this fact and therefore it reestablished the Noachidic laws for all mankind.
Do you see that something does not match up with the GB?
Imagine a zealous Jew facing such issues. He might have thought it safest to avoid meat sold in a meat market, much as another would shun meat if there was a chance that it was once offered to an idol. Other Jews might have eaten meat only after following rituals to extract the blood.* (Matthew 23:23, 24) What do you think about such varied reactions? Furthermore, since God did not require such reactions, would it be best for Jews to send a multitude of questions to a council of rabbis to get a ruling on each one? Though that custom developed in Judaism, we can be happy that Jehovah did not direct true worshipers to pursue decisions about blood in that way.

As according to the Governing Body today the laws given to Noah are again valid for mankind (not only for gentiles but even for Jews), what do the Noachidic laws demand in regard of draining blood? Did the GB in the meantime receive the information about basic guidance and where can we read it?

It was really hard for many jewish christians to understand that there religion was obsolete, since the "law" was abrogated completely. As the law was not valid the apostels being jews had to break of slowly all the jewish habits like going to the temple, think about the Mosaic laws, read in the hebrew bible about Mosaic law, or to slaughter like hypocrites and they had to learn again doing everyhting only like it was told to NOAH after the Deluge.
That was not difficult because the GB thinks that God guided them.
Christians differ in the extent to which they have made progress in learning what God says, in being sensitive to his thinking, and in applying such to their decisions. We can illustrate this with the Jews and the eating of meat
Yes indeed the Apostels had to learn slowly that their customs were obssolet. If the Mosaic laws was obsolote, why do JW think about it so much?

Trump had such a success because he always repeated the same things (lies included), created easy pictures and confirmed them by constantly by saying "believe me", "believe me".
What can we learn? One believed what he said but what was only show, what was only propaganda and what does he think really?
Through constant repeating of the same things our brain circuits get strenghened, because our brains like to get trained to believe what is repeated. By repeating a lie again and again one could easily give the lie the character of truth, this would function at least in certain moments. What was once heared would remain. Thats good for learning.
JW use the learning method in assemblies and on big conventions, they listen and hear again and again the same things.
Linguistics are training speakers and politicians to speak with influence, to create pictures. Political framing techniques. A whole nation begins to believe, to think what is actually only talked to the nation into believing it, so it becomes politics. The winner with the best language takes it all.
Human brain changes through language, the aural sense is of most importance for us, our brain is changing each day and it is hard to edit what was once heared by rational arguments.
Note: Dont let your malleable mind get trumpled by those who say "believe us". Cults use religious framing to isolate.

Let us hike and tramp virtually around. About 50.000 visitors are counted at the bethels every year. Lets begin with the world headquarters at the Blue Lake.
Next to the HQ we find to the WEST this nice low Tranquility Ridge which we will explore later, perhaps tomorrow.
Its the "Tranquility Ridge County Park Forest", a very beautiful place to tramp around in silent nature. Lets hope that the GB get many spiritual new light here. Its 44 miles to New York from here. Its a sign that the HQ was relocated from the loud city into the silent nature.
Vis-a vis over the "blue lake" you see the IBM HQ. Thats to the north.
Blue Lake is located inside Sterling Forest State Park.

At the Blue lake Anglers can also target Largemouth Bass, Chain Pickerel and panfish. Blue Lake has a nice boat launch and provides anglers with a good opportunity at catching some fish.

TUXEDO. Jehovahs Witnesses. During the construction of the new world headquarters of Jehovahs witnesses one could encounter busy volunteers at different locations in Tuxedo. After work not all were accomodated at the facility in 1422, Long Meadow Road, where most of the volunteers lived and worked. There were some other appartments and single family houses that were purchased for this construction purpose. Some volunteers were even accomodated in hotels in the neighbourhood.
The facility at Tuxedo was the construction staging area. Beginning with 2013 the former International Paper Company facility in 1422, Long Meadow Road was reconstructed into a construction staging area for the world headquarters. „Residence rooms and offices are being constructed within the existing buildings, as are workshops and storage areas.“ [1] At this site the volunteer workers were also supported with meals, materials and equiment.A deeper information about this place offers the video on the religions homepage.[2]

Relatives of those who have lost their lives putting faith of life or death in a religion that is neither Inspired nor Infallible.
by smiddy inwith the admission of the governing body that they are neither inspired nor infallible , i am curious to know how many of you people from all around the world know of somebody ,a relative or friend , who lost their life because of following the dictates of a religion that now says they are neither inspired nor infallible.,that they now admit they make mistakes.. how many people have needlesly died having followed the jehovahs witness religions policys regarding not getting your child vaccinated against diseases ,which was the case years ago, not having organ transplants as that was considered cannilbalismm years ago ,and since the mid 1940`s the ban on jehovahs witnesses having blood transfusions.. yet somehow today you can have fractions of blood donated by non jw`s who are designated as people to be destroyed at armageddon because they follow satans system of things,.
blood that is donated by these people ,stored in a laboratory , and processed into fractions by laboratory staff and given to jehovahs witnesses with their consent.with no consequences to them for doing so.. blood is not poured out on the ground and not used for any purpose as their bible the nwt dictates.or any other bible for that matter..

I didnt know the person that died young personally. But I know its name and I know its fate.
Each time I visit the grave of my grandma I'm reminded that this person who died young was a JW. At first glance this rather unusual gravestone always comes in my viewing angle. The inscript on the gravestone reads "Jehovah is my sheperd".
This person was one of those so-called "RARE CASES" where a fullblood-transfusion would have been the only sole possibility to saved a life.
The young person refused a transfusion regardless of the consequences being fully aware of the riscs and was buried here far away from its town in a remote village, where it did an apprenticeship and everyone in the village knows the story.
The grave looks always unkempt and was constructed as cheap as possible, never I see flowers, what I notice because it is surrounded of those expensive elegant polished "marble" graves that mostly beautiful decorated. Has this person been forgotten of the congregation. Imagine this fate, it sacrifed its life for jehovah and then nobody visits the grave because they are too busy in the preaching work or the congregation has not enough money to afford a regular gardening service for the grave of an " faithful heroe" of faith, what a fine testimony for Jehovah. Obviously the family is too poor too cause every cent goes to Warwick.
But once a year I pass by thinking about that Jehovah, that once ruled my life and who the person was in its life. The master where it did the apprenticeship loved the person very much, wrote the papers.
