UNITED STATESWitnesses Win Major Awards for Green Building Design and Construction
NEW YORK—Jehovah’s Witnesses, well-known for their global Bible education work, are receiving recognition for excellence in environmentally sustainable building design and construction.
The Green Building Initiative (GBI) awarded certifications for two new buildings at the Witnesses’ United States branch facilities in Wallkill, New York: the Watchtower Farms F Residence, completed in late 2012, and the Watchtower Wallkill Office Building, completed in 2014. Both of the buildings received the highest award of Four Green Globes.
Watchtower Wallkill Office Building
Shaina Sullivan, Marketing Director for GBI, notes: “Worldwide, less than 4 percent of all buildings assessed under the program have achieved this top certification of Four Green Globes.” Ms. Sullivan added that the Watchtower Wallkill Office Building “is the first nonresidential project in New York State to earn this rating.” Jenna Middaugh, Project Manager for GBI, commented: “Of the 23 buildings [in the United States] that have been certified with Four Green Globes since 2006, the Watchtower Wallkill Office Building achieved the highest point score with 94 percent.”
Watchtower Farms F Residence
GBI administers Green Globes as a commercial rating system and certification program that utilizes a third-party on-site assessment of sustainable design and construction. Achieving a Green Globes rating requires environmentally sensitive site design that focuses on water management, minimization of energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, minimizing the impact on natural resources by selection of appropriate materials, and creating a healthful indoor environment.
Photovoltaic panels provide at least 10 percent of the electrical energy needs for the Watchtower Wallkill Office Building, a feature of the building’s award-winning sustainable design.
David Bean, sustainable design coordinator for the Witnesses’ facilities in the United States, says: “The achievement of these awards attests to the high standard of design and construction work that we set for all of our projects. We are also pursuing Green Globes certification in the design and construction of our new world headquarters in Warwick, New York.”

Witnesses Receive Highest Rating by GBI for Sustainable Design of New World Headquarters
NEW YORK—Upon completion of their new world headquarters in August 2016, Jehovah’s Witnesses received official recognition for the sustainable design of their new facility in Warwick, New York. The Green Building Initiative (GBI), an organization which offers environmental assessment and certification programs for commercial buildings, awarded the Witnesses the highest possible rating of Four Green Globes for all seven of their buildings that qualified for consideration.
Shaina Weinstein, senior director of engagement for GBI, states: “Out of 965 projects nationwide, only 64 buildings have received the highest rating of Four Green Globes. For Jehovah’s Witnesses to receive Four Green Globes for all seven of their buildings at Warwick is remarkable. This accomplishment represents a very high level of commitment to water, energy, and environmental efficiency.”

The GBI, according to their official website, is “a nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating the adoption of building practices that result in resource efficient, healthier and environmentally sustainable buildings.” The GBI provides ratings in sustainable design and operation for newly constructed buildings. As part of the rating process, a third-party expert in the field conducts an on-site assessment to verify GBI’s findings.
David Bean, sustainable design coordinator for the Witnesses’ facilities in the United States, comments: “We appreciate these awards, which testify to the dedication of all involved to construct a campus that exemplifies many sustainable design features—a campus that integrates gracefully and appropriately into Sterling Forest State Park.”
The green roof of the Offices/Services Building, composed of native flora planted in a growing medium over a waterproof membrane. Storm water runoff from the building is treated on-site to reduce strain on the public water infrastructure.
The Witnesses’ strategy included preserving the trees on the property and incorporating felled trees into the construction project. “I appreciated the decision to mill the trees that were cut down to clear the site and reuse them in the new building designs,” says Jeffrey Hutchinson, former park manager for Sterling Forest. “The environmental aspects of what the Witnesses have done are excellent.” Shaina Weinstein also comments, “In our opinion, the Warwick project exemplifies what environmentally conscious design and construction are all about.”
Richard Devine, who was chairman of the Witnesses’ Warwick Construction Project Committee, explains: “For decades, our organization has maintained the aesthetics of our properties in Brooklyn. Now we look forward to maintaining our eco-friendly facility in Warwick and preserving the existing beauty of Sterling Forest.”

This is the link to brother Reibling's first green city project, the "Whisper Valley" in Texas. Could this be a model for the next Wallkill farm? Would the GB make a contract with TI Investments to remodel the area? I can already image how then brother Reibling then meets at this place cancellor Merkel and talks in german about the future of the paradisic earth. Perhaps even Putin will reside for a short time here in America at the former JW residences?

I dont know what happend with the chemicals but I like you to show some beautiful impressions of the surround of the Wallkill farms.
If the WALLKILL FARM complex would be once sold and TURNED INTO a wellness complex or a GREEN VILLAGE / GREEN CITY e.g. by Brother Lorenz Reibling's TI Tauris Investments, that would be a good idea.
In this picture you see Wallkill farms as white buildings between the woods.... a good place for a GREEN CITY!!
As this region of America is wonderful, it is a great blessing that Jehovash people can live and work here.
But most time they are only sitting the offices and factories and not spending time in the nature.
If the WALLKILL FARM complex would be TURNED INTO A wellness complex or a GREEN VILLAGE and be renovated by Brother Lorenz Reibling, that would be a good investment A green village for the future.

Oddly enough again Jehovah uses inactive ones and former studies to reveal the next HYPE, that the end is close. We give not dates about the end but inactive ones and former studies know it for sure. Also JW dont want to get into the next speculation, to avoid the big disappointments and frustrations as well as adjustements afterwards, but if now already non-believers and inactive ones forecast the end, okay, perhaps it is more certain than if Watchtower predicts it

most of those who had the wrong expectations made the needed adjustments and they stayed.

If grandpa was one of those who simplyfied life and pioneered as exemplary christians: He was frustrated, and the needed adjustment for him was to ignore the doubts and to keep silent with the purpose to remain in good standing, simplyfing life is anyhow the best way to serve J even if it is perverted by a date. Yeah, in the green bible is no date Adjustment: "Change your view of dates and accept the fact that we changed and adjusted too"!!
If grandpa was however not coming over his frustration and would have questioned the society deeper and over a longer period and would have not aggreed to "the adjustment" he would have lost his good standing and so even his family. Adjustment: "Think of your children and remain faithful. "!
If grandpa was one of the minority who not believed in the date, he was certainly not a pioneer perhaps a rebel, he would have anyhow had to adjust any rebelious gossips about what was written and expected and keep silent as well to remain in good standing. Adjustment: "Dont stumble your weakened frustrated brother by unnecessary talking about 1975"!

The young ones present at this years convention will not realise what really happened, because the older will not tell them the truth anyhow. 1975 and dates exist in a fog of negative image. Talking about it would stop any conservation. Or will the olders now being proud about what they lived through, "Happy us who we lived in 1975!" Those good old times when we could endure some speculation and how much it helped us to love Jehova more and prepare for the coming end. And will all grandpas now begin to tell of these old times, how they wondered why so many believed in dates or men (Franz) and not really in Jehova and went away. Oh how it was thrilling and dramatic in 1975.

Forget your former friends, who left because they did believe in dates or have been excommunicated because they stumbled and accused the society that it had provoked such hopes with the chronology, forget them, dont speak with them if they blame the society, they became apostates, they are not our friends, those date-believing apostates. Now believe in the new explanation that we got from the slave, namely that "some JW believed in dates and were not true christians". Dont speak with those who make a charge with the society what we have written or said at conventions. Dont be sad about your former sister and brothers who left us. Endure and listen, obey to what the elders now tell you.

This is my assumption: JW interpreted this lawlessness of the 1968 as a certain sign of the nearing of the end besides the chronology. So JW again are only reacting on the world events
like also Rutherford reacted on the great depression 1919 and the release of prison of WT-direcots, the fear facists, the fear of communists and the cooperation between dictators and the church.
