Many Germany JWs during WWII found great disappointment how the Watchtower didn't help them in any way while in concentration camps. The Watchtower only degraded many of those that came out of the camps and how many left the 'truth' and became 'materialistic.'
Please give more details about this, Gayle!

"The Bunker" WT Conventions 2016 (Gag Me)
by Poztate inin the very near future the gang will be down in a bunker, cellar awaiting the police, military to break in and take them away to camps or executions .
(paranoid much) this is the foretold "prophecy" of the governments turning on religion and saving them for last.since the couple portrayed as simplifying their life by getting rid of a lot of material things is shown to be (about) the same age in the bunker we know it must be any minute now that it will happen.
i have been out for over 35 years and things seem to be getting more bizarre each year.. when did this doctrine really become main stream?

Is there a complete video of this bunker material available? I saw the first part ... it is removed now. I would like to see the last part about where the authorities come to get those in the bunker! -

Prince and addictive drugs…a possible loophole?
by Londo111 inaccording to the elder's rulebook, there is this addendum in the chapter on the grounds for judicial committee and the section: "misuse of addictive drugs":.
please note: the use of addictive drugs under medical supervision, such as for pain management, would not necessarily require judicial review.
when questions arise, consult with the branch office.. .

Taking anti-depressants would certainly make the teachings/lifestyle of JWs more pallatable! -

Has anyone "higher up" in the organization ever offered an explanation for why Prince was allowed to remain in good standing? I am totally baffled as to how he could be in good standing! Even after he "cleaned up" his performances/music, he was totally opposite to everything we were taught a witness should be. You would think the "third eye" bit would get him into trouble with the elders. -

by biblexaminer inif you have the jw app running on your tablet, watch the latest (may) governing broadcast and hear tony the jackass, and when you get to 7 minutes and 44 seconds ...hit the pause button.. read the words at the bottom of the screen as per the jw app close captioning.. "well beyond the intent of the scriptures" .

Judge Rutherford at the Cedar Point Convention when discouraging marriage in favor of pursuing the kingdom said to the young men in the audience something like, "Why would you neglect pursuing the kingdom in favor of a bag of bones and shank of hair ?" [woman/marriage] This phrase is from Rudyard Kipling, "What is a woman anyway, but a hank of hair and a bag of bones". There is a Youtube audio of Judge Rutherford himself (I believe) actually saying this. Very interesting ... And this sentiment was mirrored in later decades. Perhaps Morris was referring especially to the Judge's time? They were way beyond the intent of the scriptures alright! -
