I know you have a lot of questions to answer, so I will be patient because you have not answered all mine. And you are quoting WT articles, not using just the bible. Also do you believe that John 8:31 is true? Do believe that the GB has never went beyond what is written, or have they violated John 8:31? I know this is a lot to think about, but here is something to meditate on:

If you were on an Island in the middle of the Pacific, and a crate containing books washed ashore, one of them being a Bible, could YOU gain salvation by reading just God's word even though you may never have seen a Bible? Is 1 Timothy 3:16 really true? Or would Jehovah need to send you a crate each month containing the latest issue of the Watchtower and Awake magazines in order for you to gain life?

Also, there is an audio of Fred Franz's adress to a Gilead class where you discusses the idea of a first century Governing Body, perhaps someone will post it, because I don't know how.

To everyone else: Don't be to hard on Recovery. He needs to stop reading the WT and Awake and stop using the CD-Rom for a couple of months, and then only read the Bible. Then just go to the CD-Rom from time to time to confirm the contradictions between the two.

Just by way of reminder, the original question was...

If the anointed are not the FDS then who is?

This question fails to take into account that a slave can be faithful and discreet, and then cease to behave in that manner. Also, the SCRIPTURES are clear when showing how anyone regardless of wether or not they were specifically chosen by God, can lose his favor because of disobedience. It is almost as if the above question is saying: The GB are anointed, therefore they are the FDS regardless of their behavior. There is no way to be " grandfathered " in as a FDS. You must endure to the end of your life and be judged as an FDS on your individual merits, or judged as an FDS when Christ returns, also on your individual merits. Also, you raised a point about the 144,000. You asked how could there be millions of the FDS? Who are the domestics? Please answer these two questions: What is the scriptural hope of all who died BEFORE Christ? What is the Christian hope? Finally, according to the SCRIPTURES, did the heavenly hope ever end, if so by who's authority and when?

Many people here have differing coping mechanisms, so you are going to be messed with a bit when you come here. That doesn't mean they don't honestly care about you. Many here would give you the shirt off their back if you needed it, much like the Good Samaritan. They just have simply had their fill of persons who behave as you have been. I am sure you have your reasons at this time. You cannot go through life only looking at one side of the issue. How would you like to be accused of a crime, walk into court, and have the judge throw out your defense team? How could a just decision be rendered if the Judge refused to look at all the evidence? That is all they are asking from you. Why ask for " evidence from those here and then say that you do not have the desire or time to read it? Please read what I have written below as well.

Why are you here? You are disobeying a specific " suggestion " from the FDS by visiting " apostate " websites in an attempt to challenge their views.

You are by extension, disobeying God and Christ. This is a very serious matter as it involves your everlasting life. This would also cause some to view your actions as hypocritical, and you could lose your freeness of speech. You are fond of speaking of " scriptural " proof. This leads me to believe that you truly value God's word, and I totally respect that. Please, do just one thing for me, and for yourself. Just using your copy of the Bible, any translation or translations, please explain to me the meaning of Galatians 4:26. Use the Bible only, please.

Have you looked at those other sites that I mentioned? Also, please answer one question with a simple yes or no.

Would you obey any human being who commanded you to do something contrary to the teachings of Christ Jesus, the head of the Congregation?

Wasn't there a KM article that said , and I am paraphrasing here. " To look at other materials so as to test the " truth " would not be a good idea. " or " Or considering oustide material to prove to yourself that you are in the " truth " would be dangerous."?

I know that is pretty vague. I just seem to remember something like that standing out, because we are always told to make sure of all things. I guess we just can't do it too much lest we learn TTATT.

Thank you Fernando. I alluded to that article in a comment but did not have time to look it up. So that Watchtower article shows that regardless of what has been said before, whatever lip service has been given to the FDS as individuals, the rank-and-file only view the GB as having special insight. Aslo the GB have the most holy spirit of anyone in the minds of the R&F. If anointed brother or sister said that the " spirit of the truth " and God's word showed them a current opinion of the local elders or a current teaching of the GB was wrong, they would be in a back room quicker that you could say 1,200 furlongs! SCRIPTURALLY, a truly annointed Christian must have insight because Christ promised them that the Holy Spirit would lead them into all the truth. We know Christ did not speak his own thoughts but only what his Father wished. Since we know SCRIPTURALLY that God cannot lie, then Christ cannot lie, so the promise that truly anointed ones would have knowledge due to insight from the Holy Spirit must be true. So the above article is false and misleading, hence whomever wrote and approved it cannot be faithful or discreet.

Due to the diverse views on this site ( no offense anyone ), you may want to contact some people from 21st-century christians.org ( Brother Ed ), or Jwstruggle, or anointedjw.org wich deals almost exclusively with the sonship of Christ's followers. Also, if I have not said so before, anyone who is truly anointed and a follower of Christ would logically be a faithful and discreet slave of Christ. So it would be scripturally correct to say that FAITHFUL anointed Christians are individual faithful and discreet slaves. To be disqualified you simply have to stop meeting the criteria, whether or not it is intentional and comes from a wicked heart, only God and Christ can say.

Why don't YOU use a scripture to disprove what I have said, namely, " The faithful and discreet slave can be any INDIVIDUAL that follows Christ and teaches the TRUTH of God's word.". Logically anyone through history could be considered as a faithful and discreet slave. Since the scriptures never indicate that the heavenly calling ended, and since all of Christ followers are annointed and born again with spirit, logically annointed individuals who claim a heavenly calling would be a FDS, unless they do not remain faithful or discreet. You are making things much too complicated.

There is no " once slaved, always slaved " teaching in God's word. You can lose that position due to human error or weakness. You can also regain it unless you sin against the Holy Spirit. You know all this already. Ask yourself what you are afraid of.

i seem to remember somebody saying that since the 90's the number of elders has declined from 90000 to 60000. does anybody have any hard figures regarding this?.

the organization is desperate for "qualified" men.

but their standards are much too high, especially the monthly field service hour requirements tagged on to endless meetings and congregational busywork.

Sorry to hear your story. They suck. Even if you give you heart and soul to them it is not enough. They are a what have you done for me lately Organization. It all depends on the KH you are in. If all the Elders are cool, you may get some fair treatment. The are just decieved men being bossed around by other decieved men. I respect giving your all if you truly believe that your Creator loves you. Once you know the Organization is not God's sole channel for truth and salvation, why give them anything? I am only in because of my family and I am starting a slow fade.
