  Loyalty Questions in Judicial Hearings

  i've seen several posts on various threads about a particular "loyalty question" or two that elders ask during judicial hearings.

  granted it's been several years since i was an elder, but i never heard of this practice.

  is there anything officially in print on this from the wt?

  Does the person have a measure of contact or association with the congregation so that a leavening, or corrupting influence exists?

  00DAD, I think this is worded just so.. they lawyers that write this crap to protect the WTBTS's $ are very crafty. If you are married and your family goes to the KH an Elder with an agenda COULD say you have a leavening influence. They use the same tactics to separate families by allowind divorce on the grounds of " absolute spiritual endangerment " which does not exist according to the scriptures. They are masters of using deception and loop-holes for themselves.

  Why are atheists so intent on scorning "believers"?

  until recently, i had never encountered this word "believers" used as it is being used on this board, to describe pejoratively a group of people.

  it's not clear to me whether they scorn all who have a faith of some sort.

  do they include buddhists, hindus, followers of the baha'i faith, followers of the cargo cult, native americans along with christians, or is it just christians who are honoured with this epithet?.

  Cofty, you are being rude right now. I apologize if I hurt your feelings with my comments. I also apologized to KS and anyone else, including believers. Accept it if you want too. I also consider myself a poor communicator sometimes. If I could have articulated what I felt when KS insulted me personally, as well as my dead grandmother, then I would not have resorted to being rude in return. There is no excuse for bad behavior, and bad behavior doesn't justify more bad behavior. You may not care how you come off in conversation, but if you want to help someone you should. Just my opinion.

  Ridiculing scientific facts while admitting to self-imposed ignorance of the evidence is rude.

  No one has proven a hoofed mammal became a dolphin, that is not ridicule.

  You can be passionate without being insulting. If you can't defend your beliefs, whatever they may be, without resorting to either name calling or inferring that someone is a moron then YOU are a poor communicator. It is very easy to pick up on someones tone, even in an e-mail. There are some here with the tendency to be rude. I include both believers and atheists in that comment. If you really want to teach someone then do not belittle them.

  On my reading list D-Hole! Can I call you that? I have wanted to read a good story for a long time. I love sci-fy. I just fell out of touch because of all the harry potter/ twighlight magicky stuff. Where is my Piers Anthony, my Charles Ingrid, Bova, Heinlein, Braudbury, Asimov, Harrison? You could fill the void in my life! ( I meant that totally hetero-sexually ) I can't wait!

  The Governing Body has NEVER claimed to be inspired…

  there was a recent thread here which covered the subject of the gb claiming to be spirit directed (and not actually inspired by the holy spirit).

  by now, most of us are quite aware that this is just a play with words to excuse themselves whenever one of their false doctrines is debunked (by someone using the bible or their own publications).

  but when you think of it, spirit-directed is actually more presumptuous than spirit-inspired.. that being said, id really like to draw attention to the fact that the wt continuously claims that the governing body of jehovahs witnesses has never claimed to be inspired by god (through his holy spirit).

  New Light on Blood Fractions

  from the hlc - not a letter from hq - why not?it is felt that because people don't know what to accept and what to say 'no' to, brothers and sisters are saying 'no' to everythying, and this is just wrong!they want brothers to know that not only is blood sacred, but also life is sacred.

  the implication is, that if you say no to fractions, you could be viewing life as not sacred, and that if you do not have a good reason that you can explain, you should not say 'no' to things.

  and they are no longer using the term "blood fractions" - they are to be called "blood derivatives", because the substance is so small.whatever happened to leviticus 17:13?

  It's all bullshido!!! If God told...let's say...Stephen, he could not take blood , and it must be poured out then Stephen would not accept products made from blood that had not been poured out. You have that God is right or you don't, simple. Can God raise me up if I die faithful? If yes. obey. If no, do what you want. It is all unnecessary to discuss except for trying to reason with a dub. The fact is that the scriptures don't comment on blood tranfusions, plain and simple. The GB F'd up and people died, since they are bastards, and won't admit thier mistakes they have to drag this crap on and on for years until anyone who knows anything about it dies. Then the new foriegn language field WTBTS who has the new 2 page pictures only version of the WT won't know any different.

  Another Major Flaw in the "NU-LITE"

  i was just thinking and a new major flaw in the new lite sprang into my mind.

  one of the ways the governing body justified its existence is saying that there was a governing body over 1st century christians based out of jerusalem.

  now i know they dont have any real proof of this, in fact evidence is the opposite of this, but lets say for arguments sake there was a gb in the 1st century.
