(“watchtower”), requesting that the supreme court review a case filed by the zalkin law firm in 2013. in the case of jw v. watchtower bible and tract society of new york, inc. et.

  al., the riverside superior court of california awarded the plaintiff, “j.w.,” a judgment of $4,016,152.39 plus interest at 10% per year after terminating watchtower’s defense, because it refused to obey the court’s order to produce files of known child molesters within the jw organization.

  in 2018, the fourth district court of appeal in california upheld that decision.

  #Persecution selfies: what do you think?

  so apparently the new watchtower russia exhibition features a pretend cell for jws to take pretend "persecution selfies' and wallow in the glorious suffering that is essential for watchtower theology to work - yet is strikingly missing from the lives of 99% of witnesses.. in fact most governments go to great lengths to protect the rights of witnesses, spending millions in public funds either directly to watchtower - in the form of grants ( norway, germany etc) - in various types of tax relief, or in the money spent in court cases establishing watchtowers rights and freedoms (& protecting their kids, whether they know it or not).. i'm interested to know how everyone feels about this...particularly terry walstrom and other guys who have spent time in jail in the name of watchtower's freedom of conscience.

  personally i think it reeks of desperation by watchtower and is another example of the type of fantasizing that witnesses regularly indulge in.. also....funny how the end is soooo close that they've had time to build a museum of watchtower history!!

  anyone else see the irony in that?!

  i saw this mentioned on reddit but no link - i found the article form this weeks bible study..... in the “congregation bible study” part of the meeting this week there was a part that said and i quote: “only jehovah god and his son can receive someone into the heavenly kingdom or the paradise on earth under that kingdom.

  we should diligently cultivate friendship with them by using what material riches we have in supporting kingdom interests”.

  All organized religions become more corrupt in direct correlation to their size as all hierarchical structures moves towards corruption.

  Its simple: The bigger the hierarchy, the more moving parts exist and the more it leans towards corruption.

  The JW religion only differs in its legalistic approach and focus on “undeserved kindness” vs Grace. Even if you’re an Xian saved through Grace, you are still pressured to donate money, especially in a larger organization because they need even more money.

  In the end it doesn’t matter if you’re in a small Church or Mega-Church. You gotta keep the lights on, as they say. We all know that God isn’t paying the light bill, so humans have to do it.

  We may never be rid of cults as a species, but maybe we will find a way to manage them, and only those that are accountable to society and completely transparent while helping the community will exist in the future.

  That’s going to be impossible unless:

  1) Xianity is true.

  2) Xianity goes back to the model of the 1st Century; that being small, independent congregations actually being directed by God.

  That’s my two cents, and No Tomo, you can’t actually have my two cents.

  i went to my sister's house because she was cleaning out the garage and she thought i must have tons of stuff left there.

  i didn't but there was a box of unplaced mags in one.

  i pulled out one when i got home and it was this one.. i'm sure that if i had read it when it came out, i would have felt that the wt had feelings of sadness over these children.

  so with the news that they are remodeling patterson and expanding warwick, where are the funds going to come from?.

  could this be a ruse like the need for thousands of kingdom halls proclaimed a few years back only to be replaced with the we realized the halls were not at capacity and the great sell-off began?.

  maybe the hope is going to be that the sheep will give give give and then all of the sudden, after prayerful consideration the gb have determined that the current resources are sufficient to create the needed media and content.. my bet is that in 10 years it will all be consolidated to warwick and walkill and patterson will be sold to who i have no idea, but they own a ton of property in upstate ny..

  They’re very greedy and perhaps delusional true believers, and they aren’t going to spend any of their own money if they don’t have to. It doesn’t matter if they have Billions in the bank, that’s not to be touched unless absolutely necessary.

  They have spent decades brainwashing the sheeple into thinking that giving money pleases God, just like all Organized religious slime-faced, lying weasels and their ilk. There’s no way they can just say, “We have enough money!”

  Can you imagine what would happen?? Once people know that they can achieve financial goals and taste success, they aren’t going back to being poor slaves. You can’t put that Genie back in the bottle.

  I want the Borg to burn as much as the next guy, but if they can spin the Sex Abuse cases as persecution, and gain sympathy, then they can get even more $$$.

  These lawsuits may benefit them in the long run.

  The WTBTS teaches a Two-Class Xian system. They don’t really believe that all JWs are part of the Congregation, or body of the Christ.

  They really teach that only the very few “genuine anointed” are part of that body and that the “other sheep” are clinging to the skirt of the “Spiritual Jew” aka “genuine anointed” with that nebulous group being under the direction of the Governing Body.

  Perhaps someday we will get one of the GB on the stand and a clever Lawyer will wring the truth from them.

  I remember reading the Hayden Covington transcripts while awakening; seeing their true faces exposed was eye-opening to say the least.

  Is it any wonder that the WTBTS has done everything it can to ensure the GB never take the stand?
