Those are all the things I do when I have to go! haha. I thought about reading "apostate" material on my iPad going forward, bringing Satan's literature into the building of Almighty Holiness.
i'm only going to the meeting because of my husband!
i was 'in' solo for years while living with my unbelieving family and i know how it feels to be the only one in your house going to the meeting.
i also respect my husband's decision, and know what it's like to have family try to tear down your beliefs.

.
how do you feel?do you like to be called apostate ?.
apostate just means: someone who renounces a former belief or principle.. to people who have never been witnesses it may not symbolise much.but to witnesses the word means a lot.in many of their minds it is synonymous with evil and perverted.. since it jw's who will likely call us apostate not others the term almost always has a bad or negative useage.. but it does identify us as people who have completely rejected the religion.. so is it good for us to use it or not?
All praise be to punkofnice for his all powerful resurrection!
1. mark 7:15 "there is nothing from outside a man that passes into him that can defile him; but the things that issue forth out of a man are the things that defile a man.. so how can eating black pudding or having a blood transfusion be a sin?.
2. roman 14:5 one [man] judges one day as above another; another [man] judges one day as others; let each one be convinced in his own mind.
so how come they say birthdays and festivals are a sin?.
The organization has inserted their own ideas within the verse of Hebrews 10:25 "Do not give up meeting together". The context is of Christian fellowship, not scheduled indoctrination sessions at lecture halls 2,000 years later. Such meetings are not necessary for holy spirit or for God's direction according to Jesus' promise found in the gospel of Matthew.
Matthew 18:20- "For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them."
Matthew 28:20- "... And remember, I am with you each and every day until the end of the age."
To say anything contrary to this is to call Jesus a liar, which the WT often does.
as a comic book fan this makes me cringe!!!.

Sucks they have such great artists. They must be really trying to market the youth movement as of late. Too bad they keep disfellowshipping them!
i don't really remember where i heard this... either at a public talk or a district convention or c.o.
visit or something.. .
my question is, has anyone else in there time with the org heard that said?
Yeah I felt that one coming leaving_quietly, for any lurkers wondering....
Jesus never mentions the preaching work in Matthew 25:31-40. The "least of these my brothers" has been expounded by theologians to mean Jesus' disciples present during this very discourse.
i was studying spanish a little while ago - had to stop because of finances but became friends with the spanish teacher and we keep in touch, see each other now and again.
i just got a message from him:.
"hola louise, i would like to talk to you about 2 things, about the jws, as we are following this fatih, we find it interesting, we haven't been baptised yet, i want to make sure before making a mistake and the other thing that allan and i wold like to talk about is starting your own business.....".
You can add a few more things to that list:
1919 - Faithful and Discreet slave, belief in pyramids, false prophesies, all the cooky stuff they believed in when Christ supposedly chose them.
Inconsistency with medical advice - blood, blood fractions, organ transplants (cannabilism).
Information control - discouraging college, researching information, being objective, demonizing information not originating from the WT.
Works vs Grace - all the scriptures in the bible showing how no amount of works determine righteousness.
Schedule - service, meeting attendence, conventions, kingdom hall builds, cleanings, etc.
Judgmentalism - being judged for petty things (beards), car group gossip, lack of love.
I would just really focus on their claims to authority, that normally shakes up most non-jws i talk to. They always end up telling me how they see its a cult after I explain 1919 and disfellowshipping.
this past saturday, i was watching the georgetown/syracuse game, and a nike commercial was played during one of the breaks.
i couldn't locate the exact commercial, but below is a variation of it that has scenes from the same one that aired on saturday.
man did i feel some heavy resentment towards the wt during and especially after the commercial aired.
All the time, I absolutely loved playing baseball. From ages 6 to 8, I played on a well known little league team in Texas... then we became Witnesses when I was 8. I wonder how far I could have gone had it not been for the clusterfuck my parents brought us into. I resent my parents now far more than the Watchtower for joining this cult. I don't shy away from making it known how incredibly dull their intellect is.

@LostGeneration, my thoughts exactly!
Why should any of the great crowd be responsible for upholding anointed duties found in the NT?
For instance why is the great crowd responsible for going out in service? This command (according to the WT) was only given to anointed christians. Why are the members of the great crowd disfellowshipped if the scripture used to do so applies toward anointed christians only? Am I the only one here thinking about a legal loop hole?
"when a person does what he always does, he will get what he always gets.".
wise words, those.
i have discovered after six-and-a-half decades that those who say they have found the truth, the way, the path for themselves and for all mankind, they are full of shit.
Farkel is an invaluable resource to us all
