A rumor has it....
by jeremiah18:5-10 inacoording to this letter to the society posted on anoitedjw (i realize some here do not hold it in high regard) the wts has not had any articles about the memorial or any mention of jesus in articles leading up to the memorial (public version).
instead 2-3 articles on moses and one on judas.
also rumor has it that the wts will no longer be posting the amount of partakers, (perhaps for fear of how many are going to begin partaking?!?).

Papa John responds to "Bad Press"
by jeremiah18:5-10 infor those who were quick to run with the bash papa john's action, here's "the rest of the story".. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/john-h-schnatter/papa-johns-obamacare_b_2166209.html.
is it spin control?
i really don't care, but it sounds more reasonable than the previous statements accredited to him.. i hope this is his true sentiments and an accurate rendering of events lord knows i've had to do alot of damage control due to the ripple effects of the previous allegations.

his parents had never bought anything else, in fact they usually made it themself.

Another benefit to being an ex-jw
by jeremiah18:5-10 inthis year my wife, kids and i are celebrating christmas and birthdays for the first time.
having been a born-in, i was raised to believe that these events were not only pagan in origin, but also self-promoting and greedy.
what i have learned as the year as progressed and as christmas gets closer is quite the opposite.. as it turns out, my wife and i never learned how to give gifts and to shop for other people, neither have my kids.

According to the Bible, was Jesus attempting to start a "movement"?
by jeremiah18:5-10 inall christian religions assume that to be the case, thus organizations, clergy, laity, r&f, etc.. christianity (religion) is nothing more than corporate big business.
is this what jesus was trying to do?.
in my reading of the gospel accounts, it seems jesus was just the opposite.

some questions for current elders on this site- just curious
by jeremiah18:5-10 infor those of you on this site that are still serving as elders, your life must be filled with inner conflict and anguish when serving in this capacity.
i'm curious about a few things if you wouldn't mind answering.. do you still have an "official position" like tmso, sec, coboe, wtc, so?.
do you still give pt's?.

Re: Secrecy Policy post by Celestial
by jeremiah18:5-10 inwhat you and other wts apologists fail to recognize is the limited scope of "expertise" that elders and/or religious leaders have or should be permitted to have.
elders are allowed "freedom" to exercise authority as it relates to spiritual issues for their adherents.
religious freedom allows for adherents to seek spiritual assistance from "qualified" ministers who they look to as spiritual leaders.
