i need some help fleshing out an illustration that explains how people can be biased but still reach honest conclusions.

i had jws claim that "evolutionists" are biased towards evolution.

if they were biased towards something else they'd reach different conclusions.

Details of Noah’s Ark

jw magazines have claimed the flood story has so much detail that it couldn’t be just a made up story.. is it detailed?

name one person outside of noah’s family.

I gave the option to some JWs downtown that maybe there was a local flood, not global since Jesus described a mustard seed as the largest in the world. Maybe the world was just the known world since there are smaller seeds. The JW countered but why would god have them build an ark if it were just local. I said “faith, god wanted Noah to show he was faithful. Why would god tell Abraham to climb all the way up a mountain if he didn’t want him to sacrifice his son. Do you really think blowing horns and trumpets caused the walls of Jericho to fall?”

I could have added the story of the sun standing still in the sky. To our perspective, the sun stood still, but actually it was God‘s doing since there are no records of the sun standing still in any other source.

The JW brought up the claim that stories around the world mentioned a flood so there must’ve been a flood.

Out of one cult into another. Simon is the worst offender. Just because someone on the left said or did something wrong doesn’t mean the right is automatically correct. It’s all garbage. Go back to science and reasoning and stop encouraging these laundered ideas that claim to be truth cause they sound true.

Planning for the future: Funerals

my dad is now the only jw in my family.

i am technically inactive.

i am concerned about when he dies.

One of My greatest fears happened last year. He passed away from Covid. The funeral was ok, very small. Most people didn’t show up which was sad. Some blamed it on Jw Covid protocols.

I have now come to realize that no book of fiction has contradictions. They just have figurative poetic language. We just didn’t fully understand the details authors story.

Waze app for JWs

i don't know how many of you have used the waze app.

it's a useful navigation app that alerts you to police and construction zones in route.

a lot of people use it to keep from getting a ticket.. i thought it would be funny to have one that alerts you to jws in neighborhood..

You don’t need gps tracking devices. Just enough people willing to report them on the apps. You could probably get JWs to report themselves. I know they do in some neighborhoods to alert the police of their presence.

I would love to see a Christian reality show where they would take a much larger cruise ship with a lot less zoo animals and watch them fail miserably trying to maintain a full year in the middle of the ocean without any contact with the outside world.
