  Every year, every congregation has to fill out an Charitable Organization return for CCRA (that's Canada Customs and Revenue Agency). As an accountant, the job always fell to me. The first year that I drifted away, they forgot to do it, and my old congregation had their status revoked. They can easily get it back. It really is amazing that so many forget every year. The society reminds them mercilessly.

  i seem to remember when i was a kid that the innocent song que, sara, sara song sung by doris day was considered evil.

  i was a kid in the 1960's and i remembered that i thought that song was cool.

  but i seem to remember that it was hated by the witnesses.

  You're not crazy. Although I didn't hear that myself, my wife talks about it all the time. She claims that she was counseled not to sing or even hum the song because it encourages fatalism and predestination.

  Regardless of how this case ends up, it is a win for Lawrence and all others who oppose the Society. Bad publicity, legal costs, and continual disruptions are continuing to plague them from every side.

  I remember when they were trying to buy the Squibb buildings - I think it was in 1969. Our congregation had a special meeting. Pictures were shown, and discussions of the lofty purpose of these building were held. Then, pledge forms were handed around. I assume this happened all over North America.
  
  Now that the buildings are being cashed in for windfall profits, does this mean that those sincere contributors will get their money refunded? I may be entitled to a piece of that.

  Well, this is a unique and promising new angle. I never considered the possibility of conflict of interest on the part of the lawyers. Normal lawyers would recuse themselves if they were in a position where they were personally involved with an organization that in court - but, the Watchtower does exactly the opposite. They send in the biased troops at the drop of a hat. Go, Lawrence!
