does anyone know this guy, where he came from?

how he climbed the jw ladder, i have to say i know nothing about him but he seems to be kicking ass with the problems in the north of england..

I don't know if he served on the IOW but I don't think he hails from there. I recall he is from the Midlands I think but could be wrong, doesn't have a southern English accent, that's for sure.

if i remember right didn't one new guy gb go to the procedings and was there for appeal?

I'd have felt really bad. One of the tops guys in the org. Come over to Russia all "we love you, we are supporting you" then hot footing it out of there as soon as it goes tits up with a "keep warm and well fed".

Difficult to internalize that all the connections are gone

i was in my old stomping ground a couple of months ago and happened to be walking past the home of an old family friend.

word is in the hall that i used to go to is that "i am one of them" meaning apostate.

no one from my old hall has contacted me to find out what happened.

The Russian visa application asks if you are a member of any banned organisations so not surprised he legged it. Perhaps he should have asked the question "what would Jesus do?"

Over 70 so given the boot Freddo. He's been a CO and foreign language DO. Company man for years. Married to a daughter of an old school anointed fella. Nice guy overall that's been put on the shelf by the org he served for years.

i often wondered how far back the witnesses had been involved with my family.

my grandmother died at the end of 2013 and while going through her photos we found some of my great-grandmother, dora, who was born in 1901 and died in 1994. there is a photo of dora dated 1946 standing outside her house in east riding, yorkshire.

on the back of the photo her husband had written "in a human moment before jehovah grabbed her".. my great grandfather, who died before i was born, did not like the witnesses.

Jook - I think anyone who has been/was associated for a decade or two will have come across a number of COs. Most of them are simply company men who are as indoctrinated as the rest of us were and believe they are doing something important.

Some are genuinely nice people, others are perhaps not so easy to gel with but basically OK. Some think they are on the stage and perform. Some are as dull as dishwater. At the end of the day they are just blokes doing their thing and once you check out mentally then it's easy to ignore them.

Rose on the other hand is simply a nasty bloke. He's vindictive, authoritarian and genuinely thinks apostates are scum and should be hounded out then ignored. If the WTS said it was OK to chop of the head of an apostate then Rose would be first in line to have a go. He is a hatchet man who longs to clean out under performing men from bodies of appointed men. He could not care less about circumstances, just are you doing the hours.

He confuses frankness with being a rude bastard.

You will find few people that really like him unless they are of the same mind.
