Thanks Dawn for posting this. I'm still sometimes in that anger stage when I see them and I truly hate feeling that way about anybody. Good to know there will come a time when I can feel differently about them.

this past week i met an old friend for coffee - she's a x-jw also but still in the trap of thinking they are the "truth" - in fact, she's trying to get reinstated, but that's another topic i'll leave for another time.. as we were having coffee 2 car groups of jw's came in for their service break.
her reaction was obvious to me that she felt uncomfortable with them there.
as i was noticing her reaction i thought of the stages i have gone through since i was df'd.. at first i was embarassed and ashamed when i would run into jw's somewhere.

so it's a beautiful saturday morning in murphy, texas -- big tex was about to go to home depot and i was about to start weeding the garden when we looked out front and there was a nondescript 4-door sedan parked in front of our house.
the two guys in it weren't getting out, so we thought "uh-oh.
" i asked again, "why didn't you come and visit me then?
got my morning off with a chuckle, both of you did great.

excuse me if i ramble...this is hard.
i have even avoided threads in the past where others have had to go thru this because i didn't want to face it.
guess i'm a wuss.
So sorry to hear this.

we rarely use our home phones to make long distance phone calls, we've got cell phones that include long distance with the minutes.
one of my friends worked for our local phone company and she asked us to sign up for a long distance plan with the company.
she would get something just for signing us up.
Frank wrote:"tell them if they want to charge your for dropping the service; you will drop them and find another phone company . And be prepared to do that if they do not back down."
I would love to, unfortunately part of living in small town America is that you are very limited on phone service choices. This is our local phone company and their service is terrible. Everyone hates them. We have our cell phones with a nation wide company and are satified with them. Our cell phones have just about eliminated the need for land line phones, but we still need them for a few things.
Lately it seems in this area, every utility company has started charging fees. Electric, Gas, Water, they all have fees that are tacked on the bill. We've complained and have written to govt. agencies that are supposed to look after these guys but when they are the only game in town they get away with a lot.

The plan's minutes were a bit more than what is advertised but there was no monthly service charge. You just pay for the minutes you use. So we signed up and it has been several months of no charges. On our latest bills that came today, I noticed a charge of 3.28 on each bill for long distance. So I called to ask why I was being billed for long distance even though I haven't used it. I was told it is an access fee to have long distance available to us. It is not a charge, it a fee. Is there a difference? So after going around and around with them about fees and charges, I said to drop the long distance with them, we don't use it anyway so what is the sense of paying an access fee for something you never access.
So she said ok and said she would take long distance off our accounts and our next bill will reflect a 4.00 fee for dropping their long distance and a 12.00 fee for making a change on our service(on each line).
I find it rediculous that companies can just charge you fees for providing you with nothing.

thanks everyone for your warm wishes.
after several hours in the er with blood tests and x-rays being done, they said mom has cellulitis in her right foot.
she still is unable to walk, but they sent her home after giving her a shot of anit-biotic and prescriptions for more.

I wheeled her out to the car and after we got home, one of the older boys lifted her up and carried her to her room. She is able to use her walker and scuff her feet over to the bathroom(thankfully) She has to see her doc on Friday morning to see if the anti-biotics are working. Hopefully it is and she can get around a bit better.
Thanks again,
Sadie

i know i don't get to post very much.
wanted to let everyone know that my elderly mom received a blood transfusion a few days ago.
it was amazing how we just looked at this as a medical procedure and not some great sin against god.. she is doing much better than before the transfusion, i think in this case it was the right thing to do.. hugs to all.
