I agree with you problemaddict2. That is what normally happens when a couple from the hall comes over. But with a larger group they soon all digress into 'holy' mode talking about some great assembly part or even worse want to sing a few Kindgom Melodies. Exit, stage right. Last time, my wife didn't even notice that I had disappeared. -

I will probably start drinking beer after lunch before they arrive. She knows that I don't like groups, so I am really curious what is going on. Perhaps it is to upbuild me with wonderful spiritual association? She even bought a new table-cloth for the occasion. I imagine I will spend a lot of time outside taking care of the dogs. -

New "most frustratingly addictive game ever" to play - agar.io
by Simon inone of my kids got me hooked on this.
it's incredibly simple but also kind of fun and addictive.. you start as a small cell and need to eat things to grow.
that's pretty much the game.. of course as you get bigger you can eat smaller cells too ... and bigger ones can eat you.. as you get bigger you get slower but you can "eject mass" to shrink and speed you up (w key).

Wow. I have been thinking about doing a game like this for along time, but for educational purposes. As usual, I missed the boat. Too much time thinking about doing something vs actually doing something. -

The only word that springs to mind is: compound. I can see why they are fighting over having an outside suite with a mountain view. -

Watchtower Content Producers Tardy With their Monthly Broadcast. WHY?
by scotoma inhow hard is it to produce a monthly program and get it up on time?
they are late every month.. are these the same people that published 128 pages of magazines by the 1st,8th,15th and 22nd of every month for over 100 years?
are they understaffed?

Not to get (too far) off topic but seriously - "helper"? Isn't that the most lame-assed euphemism for a brown-noser, wannabe? -

i'm ordering cool personalised pressies for all of my non jw family online, whilst listening to some great 80's classics (currently fade to grey, visage).

Pooper scooper duty in the morning - I have 4 dogs. Beer starts after lunch, But, even that is better than going to another brain melting session at the KH. If it is not too windy, before the beer drinking starts, I'll get in an archery session. -

When I was a young man (before becoming a JW obviously) I was what you would categorize as a heavy user. I carried around a cigar box with 20 or 30 pre-rolled and ready to go, along with the supplies for more. Be prepared, right? I would agree with what other posters have already said wrt going easy at first and being in a comfortable safe place with friends. Some people are extremely sensitive to THC. It might not be your cup of tea.
At the other extreme (my case) it is exactly your cup of tea. Everything is enhanced.
If I had a do over, I would avoid it though, at least until I was older. It just made it too easy to sit around thinking about all the stuff I could/would do, as opposed to doing anything.
In all things, balance is the key.

Elder's letter requesting details of solicitors, barristers and accountants
by jwfacts inthere was a letter sent to elders in australia on 18th november 2015 asking for details of publishers that are solicitors, barristers and accountants.
what would be their motive for these details?
the rest of the letter outlines 8 specific pieces of information to compile and send to bethel's legal department, and reiterates to collect the information only be "as you understand, without consulting the publisher.

@Vidiot: Yes, I'd agree that they are begging for it. But if and when it happens, you can be sure that the persecution flag will be up in a heartbeat. -

The new brchoure
by Sabin inthe gestapo body, brought out a brochure, i believe it was called return to jehovah.
in it they gave 3 reasons why some-one left the borganization.
if i remember 1 was because the person is angry at some one in the cong, or something along those lines.

My wife left a copy for me, but when she returned I handed it back to her and thanked her. I said none of the possible 3 reasons suggested applied in my case. Divergent's list would be more applicable but I doubt they will be coming out with a brochure soon that addresses those reasons for leaving.
