Funny that this came up because I have an active JW that still visits me for conversational English lessons (even though I haven't been to a meeting for some time) and he disclosed that he is really into Batman. He even started a blog about it. He gave me the link, but later asked me not to tell anyone about it.
I don't like to break my word, but I assume he meant other JW's that we might know.

they looked liked children forced to go to an opera.

I have to agree about the benefits of starting to work out again. My wife and I started going to a local community-center gym once a week. We go on nights where it is not so crowded. On Tuesday and Thursday there are maybe 10 other people there and we pay about $2-3 per visit. If we want to buy a card, we can reduce that to about $1.
My wife mostly does cardio but will probably start doing some light weight work soon. I do about 50/50. I am 59 and my wife is older. We both feel great when we come back and after a shower, it often leads to other things. We are both still in decent shape, but want to get the metabolism going. I spend too much time in front of a computer (for work) and want to get flexible again...

i got ready for the meeting.
my wife did too.
we drove out to the kingdom hall and the closer we got the higher my anxiety would spike.
I had some of the same symptoms. It ended up working for me though after the 2 cong's merged to one. There were just too many people in such a small area, my wife knew I couldn't handle it. She called ahead and tried to save some seats for us in the back row but my lack of regular attendance led to some starting to avoid me when I did come. In Poland it is customary to go around the entire hall and greet everyone when you arrive. That makes it easy to see who is avoiding you.
Actually, I should have known when I first came into contact with them, but my lack of critical thinking skills and the love-bombing from my new instant friends ruled the day. What a cluster-f*ck!
now don't get me wrong, they still consider themselves jw's.
but they seem to be plagued with ill health... especially on meeting days?
they are very depressed about it of course and moan about how much they would like to be at the hall.
