The new service meeting

i wanted to relate an experience that happened this morning.

it is regarding the new format for the meeting on thursdays in my area.

its not word for word but im summarizing what i heard, the best i can remember.

11 people showing up at your house is not so far fetched. If you are liked and the 'friends' feel comfortable around you, it can happen. Just recently, my wife had arranged for a couple we know to visit for lunch. Before they arrived, she got a phone call that the group from field service wanted to drop by. Right... So we end up with a boat load of people in our house for a few hours. And we live out in the country. If you lived in a city with good public transportation (I know, not likely in the US except for a few cities) as is common in Europe, you could easily get a bunch showing up in no time at the same time.

Sometimes, you are the only outlet they have for letting their hair down for a bit.

hello, this is my first post, i would like to introduce myself and say thank you to every one on this forum, you have been a lifeline to me these last few years.. i had been a jw for 30 years when i walked away a few years ago disgusted by the treatment victims of child abuse, domestic abuse and rape receive from the wtbts.. at first i thought it was a local problem, elders personal opinions, the way they handled the situations, imperfect men etc., until i checked out jehovahs witnesses and child abuse/domestic abuse online.

that's when i realized they had the same modus operandi worldwide.

that led me here, tbuo this forum, and then to crisis of conscience, jw facts, watchtower documents, jw survey, old watchtower literature and cd s, reading a couple of steve hassans books, and more recently exiting the jw cult.. the feelings of shock, betrayal, anger at the wtbts, angry with myself for being so gullible, depression, reflection, loneliness, have taken their toll.

Going to the C.L.A.M.

so i haven't been to a midweek meeting in some time.... but i must attend this first clam (not to be confused with 'klan') meeting.

want to take a look for curiosity sake then go back to never attending another midweek meeting again.

Do you think as an inactive one, I will be allowed to see the new workbook? My wife won't be able to be there this week, but I'm wondering when she gets her copy, if she will want to show it to me. This is a woman who had the 2015 JW calendar on our bedroom wall (I know, creepy!) but only changed the page once. Jan-June, same page. June to Dec. Same page.

Now we have a calendar of dogs from a shelter that need homes that she looks at constantly.

I would suggest just deactivating their phones, cut off water and electricity, and then just wait. Nothing comes in, nothing goes out, except those who have a change of heart and are willing to accept the consequences.

"dirty work" that the wtbts make witnesses go through.preaching work '' lite''.putting more heavy loads on members while the ''faithful and discreet slave'' preach from warm studios without the humiliation.

Perhaps instead of living like kings already, the GB could set a fine example by throwing away their life at the retreat in upstate NY and instead disperse to the 4 corners of the earth. Each could pick a continent (1 can stay behind to do the jw.broadcasting thing or maybe cover the Mid-East if they are so inclined) and head out. They would be like Jesus with no place to lay their head , relying on the kindness of strangers and the local 'friends'. Surely their future reward would be great!

Inactive brother that on line games with fellow JWs

i have an inactive jw acquaintance who hasn't been inside a kh for at least a couple of years.

yet the weird thing is there is a net work of jws that he dose on line gaming with.

Doc, there are lots of 'young' men in their 30's who are still very active in the online gaming community. I think for the most part, it falls into the category of don't ask/don't tell. It is an outlet for them.

Do the others involved know he is an inactive JW or do they just know him as KhaleedTheAvenger? I'm also curious what type of game they are playing. Most would not meet the approval of the GB.
