The right to shun - wrong?
by Simon inmany people are understandably upset and angry at the notion that jws have the right to shun people.
it seems such an obvious "no brainer" cruel and inhuman thing to do - it must be wrong ... surely?.
of course we look at things from the perspective of those hurt and harmed by shunning.

It's different for every family isn't it? Mine don't use the necessary family business except for funerals. They could stretch a point much more if they wanted to but I think they choose not to because they still want to punish me.
From what I read some of the guys on here have family that go above and beyond the WTS rules because they are naturally people who hold a grudge.
I do agree with Simon that there is a certain amount of choice here and some families seem to inflict pain because that's the way they have decided to be in their lives.

Witnesses - Ever Wondered Why You're So Tired After Assemblies/Meetings?
by The Searcher inrecently shared this with me.. they compared the tiredness they felt after attending an assembly and meetings, and noted how much worse it was than actually working and studying hard for hours for their secular employment!
why were they so exhausted after an assembly/meeting?
no, it wasn't satan.

I feel sorry for the people with small kids, trying to get them to sit still and be quiet for seven hours must be exhausting. -

by Crazyguy inthe number of pyramids in the world just keep going up and up.
an egyptoligist thinks using satellite scanning technology he has found the remnants of another 17 pyramids in the egypt.

Haven't done any reading on this since I studied ancient Egypt for a project at school but I thought ancient cultures built pyramids to get closer to God or gods.
Whether to get worshippers at a religious site closer to gods and heaven or to get the deceased who was buried inside it closer to the afterlife. It seemed natural for ancient peoples to think gods were up in the sky because they certainly weren't down here.
