November Study WT "Train You Child to Love Going Door 2 Door"
by JW_Rogue inbeen catching up on some jw reading and found a gem in the november study wt in the first article, paragraph #11:.
yet, you might look beyond the obvious and ask yourself, does my child enjoy the ministry or only the breaks?
if you discern that the ministry could be more interesting or more rewarding for your children, set goals with them.

Such a waste of time. Get a child to go with you from door to door collecting for charity instead. Tell them it's to build schools for children to have an education and work their way out of poverty. My daughter never forgot doing that and now she lives in the real world with her eyes wide open, with a huge social conscience. -

Well done Simon. our lives are so much about the luck of the draw. Where we're born, the climate or politics of the country we happen to be born into.
A work colleague suggested we collect for the Syrian migrant camp at Calais. We collected toiletries and babies nappies for the Red Cross to distribute. Everyone joined in, we wouldn't have wanted our own kids to go without those things.

Yes my daughter escaped storm Desmond on Monday after forty-eight hours without heat, internet and with only a patchy phone signal. I didn't know how the heck she was going to get home because her local station was flooded. Eventually her university laid on free buses to the next city so the students could catch a train there.
When she got to the front of the enormous ticket queue she was told students that had already purchased tickets for the end of the week could use them early, no extra charge. When she had to change trains an hour and three quarters later the conducter also accepted her wrongly dated ticket because she had travelled from flooded Lancashire. Nice, helpful reasonable people in a difficult time getting kids home safely to their families for Christmas. People are good, that's it.

Tornintwo thank you very much. Yes it's been a stressful day. I'm just glad she can get to a station that's not flooded tomorrow on one of these buses the uni has laid on. -

Is that Carlisle VI ? Carlisle has been very badly hit, completely under water. The Lake District had 14 inches of rain in a few hours, that's a months rain. My daughter just got a signal for a few minutes and I told her to get on a train tomorrow morning because there's more rain on the way. Lancaster Uni is providing buses to Preston station because Lancaster is still flooded. The line has gone dead again. -

My daughters friend is now home her parents picked her up, she lives in Lancashire. She has phoned me because she's now found out uni has been cancelled because the power is expected to be off until Tuesday night at least. So there is the whole of Lancaster without power for three days by then. My daughter among them with no light, no heat, no phone, no internet and she needn't have stayed because there's no uni! Damn just want to go and get her. Damn! When her friend whose phone worked was still there I told my girl to walk until she gets a signal tomorrow. Then she will get my messages to come home. Just hope she can get a train.
There's nothing I can do. Feel helpless but we are when the elements strike like this. Wish I had a brother who would help me drive up there and get her. He's an elder so well you know the rest of that story. I'm rambling sorry.

Thanks Kate.
Diogenesister it's too far for me to drive with no one to take over and give me a break. If she decides to get to the station and just see if the trains are running she can ring me as soon as she gets here and of course I'll pick her up from the station. But without a phone or internet she can't even check the trains. Thanks for your concern I appreciate it.

So 550,00 homes in Lancaster without power because of flooding in a substation caused by Desmond. Including my daughter who is at university there. No electricity. She can't get home because there are no trains. Her phone doesn't work. She has been phoning me on her friend's phone but her friend is now leaving to go home so we will be out of contact. Electricity North West gave an estimate of 7pm but I can't see it, I've seen the pictures of their flooded substation on their Twitter feed and it looks terrible, deep water.

Yes I read The Cow and The Women many years ago. Books of the Quran, surahs are they called? As I recall it sounded just like the Bible and women didn't come out of it very well. Although isn't there something about women having inheritance rights in Islam that they haven't had in Christian countries until recently? Can't remember exactly. There is no need for 'dislikes' I am just saying I have read the book. It's a book, ok! I see enough women with only their eyes showing and walking behind their husbands and their little sons in my UK Midland city to have no love for this religion.
