Starting threads
by Landy inany chance of people resisting the urge to start new threads when the subject is already being discussed?.
the prince threads are a good example.
instead of one interesting to read thread with lots of replies you end up with forty threads with one or two replies.

Personally I think this thread is princeless. I'm very bored with all the repetition. Great idea of Simon's to flag up if there's already a thread about the subject you're about to post. -

This happens to me too. I have to turn my iPad around to get a few more of the panel but I still can't get the ones on the far left. I end up using the iPad emoticons. -

Victoria Wood dies
by Xanthippe ini'm shocked to hear that victoria wood has died of cancer.
she was only 62, so sad.
she was one of the first female comedians, and paved the way for the those women that followed.

Bumping this for Brits who loved Victoria Wood. Do you remember Kimberley? My pioneer partner couldn't see what was so funny about her but then she did have a beret very similar to Kimberley's!

Lostandfound yes I enjoyed that too, it was called Housewife, 49. She also did a great documentary series about India. A very talented woman. -

I'm shocked to hear that Victoria Wood has died of cancer. She was only 62, so sad. She was one of the first female comedians, and paved the way for the those women that followed. Winning five Baftas for her work, and being awarded the OBE in 1997.
I will always remember her for dinnerladies, and her comedy songs, 'spread an avocado on my lower regions, spank me on the bottom with a woman's weekly.'
You will be missed Vic.

I was a Christian for a while but not a churchgoer. Whenever you join something people want to tie you down with rules. Had it with rules. I started a degree and decided to study history because I wanted to get away from religion. Stupid me, European history is drenched in the blood of religious wars, witch hunts and inquisitions. As Michel de Montaigne described what he saw in the Protestant Reformation, 'people slowly roasted for beliefs they neither know nor understand'. He wasn't being metaphorical. I'm cured. -

Pete Zahut I don't think your posts are half baked at all. I always read your posts though I may skim over others. You make a lot of sense. There are one or two real jerks on here so don't worry about dislikes. But if you want to go all the best to you.
