Black Widow spiders oh no! My garden is plagued with slugs but I found three toads over the last few weeks. Eat up boys, plenty more where they came from. The new border is coming along slowly. I will plant out the Borage seedlings in between the new shrubs when they're a bit bigger. -

They demand that a gay person stops having a gay sexual relationship. That is unreasonable and narrow-minded but I don't think it amounts to hatred of gay people.
When the Brahma Kumaris cult wants to prevent married people having sex you think that's despicable, Cofty. Trying to prevent gay people having sex is just unreasonable and narrow minded is it, but not hateful? I am very surprised at this reaction. -

Cofty you missed that gay 'people can change'. They have to leave their gayness behind because God won't let them into paradise because he made normal people straight, one man, one woman. It's implicit because the whole discussion begins with a picture of a gay couple and everything that follows relates to that. -

When the mother gives the reasons it has to be one man and one woman, it seems to be all about getting in to the paradise. So you have to be straight because Jehovah says so or he'll kill you. Is that what they've come down to, not even trying to think of a reason? What a tyrant they worship and profess to love.
Poor little girl being expected to tell her school friend that she shouldn't have gay parents, no pressure then. Poor JW kids. It was bad enough being a little girl being made to sit outside school assembly or refuse to make Xmas cards. Now these kids are being encouraged to take part in what could in the UK be interpreted as a hate incident.

I have started to look at other references to "loyal, loyalty" and their treatment in the silver ghost bible. The results are disturbing. The terms mercy and kindness seem to have disappeared in favour of loyalty.
They are shooting themselves in the foot with this. Verses of the Bible are like songs they stick in your mind for decades. When I start to read a scripture on this forum I know how it should end even though I left in 1989 and haven't picked up a Bible since.
This will be happening to active JWs when they are told to look at a scripture in a talk or Watchtower study. Their minds will go straight to the old reading of the verse. Some will think, wait, what! This will wake some people up. Especially if they're replacing them all with 'loyalty'. The penny will drop for some.

My son has a very significant interview today..
by Captain Schmideo2 inhe is just days away from graduation with his bachelor's in english, and today, he has an interview with a recruiter for an agency that help with finding teaching positions in south korea.. i took it upon myself to research the company and his interviewer, and it's been high marks all around on both of them.
so that's a great ease on my mind.i just hope the interview (over the phone) goes well, and results in the next steps to getting a position.my son spent a month in seoul last summer, an loved the place.
he has friends out there as well, including a young man that he attended classes with here in the states, so i think that's a real plus in taking this very giant leap.when i was his age, i was slowly working my way through a two year degree, still living at home, and aspiring to nothing more than a job as a repairman.

No Birthday cards
by Xanthippe inso no cards again yesterday from my daughter's uncle and aunts, my jw siblings, for her 21st birthday.
😀 no i didn't expect any but i just wonder if they even know she's twenty-one now.
do her cousins, one of whom has a baby of his own now?

Thank you Giordano. I can look back at all the mistakes I made, pioneering for years and making myself ill, but at least I got out in time to raise my daughter outside of the cult and give her a normal life. If I do nothing else for the rest of my life I achieved that.
I've learnt so much from her you know. She's taught me what it's like to grow up normally, make friends at school and be interested in the world instead of being afraid of it. She's always accepted people for what they are but she's not naive. I am enjoying watching her grow, you're right.
