Why do we speak out once we learn TTATT?? Because the Society TRAINED us to do so!
by stuckinarut2 ini was just thinking about how the gb / society hates it when people like us dare to speak up or mention anything negative about the society.. they try and demean us, or colour witnesses view of anyone who leaves - especially if we speak up!
we know the sort of rhetoric they have been spewing forth over the last few years.. but the gb needs to face the fact that we speak out because we have been trained to do so by them!
they have used scriptural passages to encourage us repeatedly to "preach with boldness"(acts 4:29-31 eph 6:19).

This is so true. If we find TTATT and tell our family and friends because we care about them and because we've been trained to speak the truth, that's apostasy and you're out!
Exactly what happened to my husband and myself, although we refused to attend the kangaroo court and sent them a letter instead. The outcome was the same! We lost all the people we cared enough to speak the truth to.

Have you ever thought what the primary teaching of Jehovah’s Witnesses is?
by Half banana init is not “preach the good news” nor is it “believe in jesus and get saved” neither is it “believe in the governing body of jehovah’s witnesses and get saved” although in practice they do teach this.
no, everything they claim depends on a belief in another doctrine which logic decrees cannot be found in the bible.
the leadership of jehovah’s witnesses put absolute faith in a protestant doctrine which is given a latin name, sola scriptura, meaning “by scripture alone”.. good evidence of the governing body believing in the primacy of this doctrine was when being questioned by the australian royal commission, they resorted to the ‘authority’ of scripture to defend their stance on having “two witnesses” when they are investigating child abuse cases.throughout the hearing they paraded their naive trust in the bible as the highest possible authority proudly ignoring the fact that most people regard it as having been superseded by modern scientific evaluations of what is true.. .

Well yes the primary teaching of all Protestant religions since the Reformation has been follow the Bible rather than the tyranny of the Papacy. As with all, or most, Protestant churches the development of a new clergy/laity division has put the enthusiasts of freedom of thought back to square one. A new group of people, priests, bishops, tell the church members what to believe rather than looking to Rome. The original Protestant idea of only look to the Bible and have that Bible in your own language so you can decide what you believe has more or less vanished.
I do like what you say Half banana that all scripture being inspired couldn't have meant just the Bible because the early church didn't have all scripture available to them. That's an interesting thought.
Of course it was a widely held belief in ancient times that poets, writers and artists were inspired by gods and goddesses. As you say inspired utterances could refer to a great many writings on faith.

by Skepsis inhi all.. it's being a while that i don't share in the forum.
after moving to another country and finding a job, i asked my congregation in my country to send my publishing card here.
once i did it, i stopped attending meetings.

Skepsis well done! You really got out of your comfort zone even moving to another country! Yes it's scary wondering what's out there in the world but it's just ordinary people living their lives. Congratulations and have a great life.

"Are you humble enough to admit you were wrong?"
by stuckinarut2 inthat is a question i want to calmly and politely ask a witness next time i interact with them.
perhaps at a cart.. "the bible says we should be humble.
may i ask, are you humble enough to admit you were wrong on things you believe?

I like it Stuck. I've been thinking for a while about approaching the JWs I see at the carts occasionally in my town. I couldn't memorize all the good suggestions I've heard on the forum but your question I would like to try, especially in connection with the 1914 generation and Armageddon being delayed. This has been taught from door to door for years so why wouldn't I know about it? No explanation of who I am needed.
Obviously they were wrong, but to put it to them are you humble enough to admit it, yes I like that. Then perhaps it would lead into a discussion. If they start on the latest explanation, overlapping generations, well nothing left to do! Just stand back and watch them trying to explain it, hopefully at least then it may strike them as ridiculous!

There are so many different types of women, career women, girly girls who love being taken care of, independent women who want to pay for themselves and make their own decisions, women who love children, women who don't. So don't just think 'women' we're all different.
Good luck, I'm single again so I can imagine how nervous dating must make you. Lots of good women out there and some not so good, just like men really. All the best in your efforts to meet someone special 🌷
