Advice on my JW Mother
by InjusticeSystem ini need the advice of those of you who are exjw's on what to do about my still in mother.
briefly, here's the situation: i am a born-in, never got baptised (thank the fsm), became an athiest about 2015 but haven't come out to anyone but my wife and some trusted friends.
my mother was raised in the society and is a true believer, but was never as strict about it as some parents are when i was growing up.

You're an adult, if you really can't bear that your mother has gone back to the religion that ruined your childhood then you have to make decisions now for your own well-being. Your mother was a widow and started a relationship with a married man that turned into a very bad marriage. The divorce damaged her and now she's blaming a wrong choice on leaving the religion.
I don't have a relationship with my siblings, my JW mother died years ago. After a while I couldn't stomach their silly passive-aggressive games to bring me back. I realised that the so-called acts of love, shunning, we're just punishment for hurting them by shaking their faith when I left. I just get in touch if I hear they are seriously ill, then watch them drop me again, which I can handle.
So it's up to you, make your decision for your own health and happiness. I assume when you talk about coming out you mean telling your mother you're an atheist. If you decide you do want to keep some sort of a relationship with her, why tell her what your beliefs are now? People don't normally talk about beliefs or lack of them outside the JWs. It's up to you but if it's going to shatter your relationship and you do want to keep it to an extent, why mention it?

do not keep account of the injury?
by Addison0998 ini have a long time “friend” around my age, she and her husband are big sheeple who have been raised to practically worship elders and view their as police angels.
anyways, they recently arranged to have a meeting with the elders to ask for their blessing pretty much to go to a wedding of a relative of hers who is not in the best standing, (she just recently got baptized and her husband was recently reinstated) anyways, the elders told them of course that it was their choice, but warned them that every time they ask for the elders advice on something, it is recorded whether they heeded the advice or not and looked at for things such as ske school, which is a goal they have to do together.
and of course they advised them not to go so they didn’t, especially since they want to go to the ske school, and i guess they only accept people who let people have full control of their lives.

Thanks Freddo, I googled NVM and saw it could mean nevermind but I thought it can't be right because it didn't fit the context.
I've honestly never heard of this SKE, mini Gilead school. Things on here still surprise me.

Brothers, for some time we have noticed some among us have speculated when Armaggedon will arrive. Some impatient and indeed weaker ones have suggested 1879, 1914, 1925, 1975 or even 1994.
Time and time again the faithfull slave have made it clear that nobody knows the day or the hour. So we need to search our hearts and ask ourselves, are we today of the 'nobody' class? We here in Bethel certainly are of the 'nobody' class. Are you?

Why not extend your child's life and take the consequences?
by I_love_Jeff injehovah's witnesses & blood transfusions.
if your son or daughter were badly burned, he or she would require regular whole blood transfusions.
as a good jehovah's witness, it is your duty to refuse this procedure and watch your child die instead.

What the hell???
That made me smile. How is the JW teaching any different from 500 years ago when religious dissenters were tortured or burnt to death because better to die now than burn in hell forever.

Financially Are You Doing Better Than a Year Ago?

The same as last year, but next month I have to apply for my own job for the third time in about eight years. Central government has drastically cut funding to local authorities so I will probably have my working hours cut again. They say this will be the last time. Ha!
I'm in the UK, still one of the richest countries in the world but I'm annoyed that tax payer's money is funding new nuclear weapons. Depending on who you read Trident is going to cost between 50 and 200 billion pounds! So we have to cut funding for disabled people and libraries. Fear is running my country.

Jehovah’s Witness dating rules
by Addison0998 ini’m sorry that i talk about dating a lot, i know it is probably very annoying, but you don’t have to read it.
but did anyone else have the most difficult time dating as a young jw?
me and my boyfriend have been dating for a year in half, we are in our early 20’s, and we are still not allowed to hold hands, cuddle or kiss.

My sister married a guy who didn't want sex with her at all. She ended up so desperate she had sex with a stranger. She was the one publicly reproved not him. He might be gay or asexual, not marriage material, not to a woman anyway. Of course being a JW she didn't find out until they were married. She's been miserable with him for over forty years. Don't do that!

this funeral arrangement goes on and on and on.

Strange the way the US honours even the politicians who didn't make it. We really don't honour politicians at all in the UK. Soon forgotten.
