That's not likely to happen Minimus, terrorism hasn't gone away. We don't need special days to remind us do we? It's the reason I and many others are loathe to visit Muslim countries. It has affected all out lives, the whole world is aware of the danger.

Do You Think People Have Forgotten About 9/11?
by minimus inafter all these years, it seems to me that people do not properly take note of what happened on this date in 2001. for some, it’s like nothing major happened.
for me it is a day of reflection..

My heart goes out to all those who lost loved ones that day. I know all too well what it means to lose a partner suddenly and without warning. The public outpouring of grief and support may have helped at the time but I do wonder what it's like now that many years have passed. Surely they don't want reminding of that pain every year.
I think it may be all very well for onlookers who want to have a sentimental wallow but for those who were actually involved, who lost loved ones and colleagues, it may be making it hard for them to move on.

Personal story of bethel, sexual abuse and child baptism
by GetMeOutofHere inborn into a strong jw family in the early 80s.
my father died when i was 4 and that left a huge emotional scar on my tender mind.
with my mother, i went to live with family members and was sexually abused between 4 and 10. he was an ms but when elders later found out, all that happened was he got his privileges removed.

Thanks for sharing your experience and you must realise now you were not responsible for the sexual abuse you suffered as a very small child. I am aware it's not always that easy so perhaps some counselling would help?
I can identify with people emotionally blackmailing you about seeing your father in the resurrection. Absolutely despicable.
Stick around, many here have been through similar abuse.

A mother is in labour ALONE with her 6 year old boy and she tells him to fill the basin with hot water in the bathroom...so the boy can help his mother have a wash??? (Then he's "monitoring the labour" ?!!)
Yeah Diog, plenty of hot water and towels. This writer's been watching too many Westerns.

True LV101. Two weeks ago I was sitting in a little town in the Bavarian alps enjoying a big dressed salad with just a few excellent pieces of fried chicken on top and they were quite enough.
Unusual for the Bavarians because they're big meat eaters. There was German sausage on the BBQ all day which was very popular. Not my cup of tea.

The last few I treated myself too were just a chore to eat. It's just too much meat
Pete I know what you mean, if I go out for a meal and have chicken they give me so much. All that chewing! So hard to get down.

Stopped eating red meat about 12 years ago because it's contraindicated in arthritis and my family get really bad arthritis. My aunt had seven hip replacement operations, first one at 47.
So far hardly a twinge and I'm 61. Not vegetarian, I eat fish and very occasionally chicken.

Museums growing at the branches especially Warwick
by benny ini am not sure if this has been discussed but last night mid week meeting about organisational accomplishments really got my goat as the example of the temple was used.
people contributed to the building of the jewish temple and now the museum and bethel in warwick.
this supposed .be evidence of god s guidance.

museum and Bethel in Warwick. This supposed .be evidence of God s guidance.
It's so easy to lie to ignorant people who've never been anywhere. WTS is always holding up beautiful buildings as evidence of God's blessings.
By these criteria the RC must be the true religion because of the Vatican. Or the Russian Orthodox church because of St Basil's Cathedral. Or Hinduism, they have amazing carved temples a thousand years old.
What a stupid assertion. How about we have the truth because all our members are happy, healthy, mentally well adjusted people who are making a difference in the world?
