We could talk about what these hundred women have achieved, or we could just talk about Chelsea Clinton........ Why am I not surprised

#100 Women
by Lost in the fog inin the uk the bbc has been celebrating the role of women who have made a difference to the world.
they have focused on 100 women in particular who have taken a lead in various professional jobs.
isn't it sad that we'll never see a jehovah’s witness woman appearing on such a list because of the misogynistic attitude within their organisation.

Thanksgiving Dream List
by TerryWalstrom inthanksgiving dream list______.
1. i give thanks to mom, for the blond wig and dress when i was a child (pinch-hitting for the daughter i was meant to be).
it was a voyage of self-discovery for me to play cowboy, tarzan, and superman in drag in my neighborhood--completely unwitting to my astonishing spectacle presented to the neighbors!

Xanthippe - Lake Como, Italy, not a bad jump off point to start living! I've been there but now confused between Lake Como and Lake Bellagio. Italy is incredible.
Italy is beautiful. Bellagio is a village on Lake Como, very pretty, lots of cobbled alleyways. What I love about Como is it's in the foothills of the Alps so if you get rain at the lake in Spring you get snow on the mountains, stunning.

Tell you what to do - what to think and what to feel!
by StephaneLaliberte ini just watched the movie apostacy and thereby, visited an ancient feeling of mine.
there were various moments where you could tell that the mother and even the “faithful” daughter were bottled up inside with many thoughts and feelings left unsaid.
their basic, normal, human morality immediately tells them that the proper way to act is not that of the wt.

the misery of knowing something is wrong and you keep telling yourself it must be you. Convincing yourself that the better part of you is arrogant, evil and prideful, the only possible result is depression and constant sadness. - SL
Yes for years I kept thinking it must be me, everyone else is happy with the stuff they say from the platform or write in the watchtower. Nobody thinks they are contradicting themselves or being harsh about people who have doubts.
Depression is the only result if this goes on too long, I agree. I remember it well. Note to self, don't ever doubt yourself if your doubts are well founded, eight million people can be wrong.

Amelia I thought exactly the same thing!
I read your link, they say if it's not a religious festival everyone must make up his mind according to their own conscience. Then they list a scripture that criticises every form of special day whether it celebrates a country, a person, a flag, the moon, whatever. Basically don't celebrate anything. Conscience! They're not allowed a conscience, just follow the GBs rules.

Tag teams of Cart Sitters
by days of future passed inone sunday, we took our dad out for lunch.
since it didn't open till 12:00, we were going to have to kill time.
this restaurant is situated with other businesses around a small park and when we parked, we noticed there was a cart to the right in the park.

I live in a very small town and we have two carts now on a Saturday. One in the town centre and the other about fifty metres away down a cut through between some shops. Last weekend when I cut through they were also slightly up a shop alleyway and I almost stopped and said you just look like you're hiding. -

Equality of outcome ...
by LoveUniHateExams in... in pol pot's cambodia.. .
the regime freed these people from inequality and an oppressive class system by changing them from being alive to being dead, and so they were all equally dead..

Yes to walk out on a lecture after merely being told most men are taller than women is ridiculous. There were some badly behaved students in those videos. I see it as the pendulum effect. Are you familiar with the pendulum effect? That when there has been a grossly unfair situation as there was with unequal pay, unequal opportunities and women not being believed or being blamed for rape it leaves a bad taste for decades.
What I find weird is things have improved dramatically since the rise of modern feminism in the 1960's (I know feminist ideas have been around much longer) that it seems many haven't caught up. Sometimes I say to my daughter, you should have lived through the seventies when I grew up. Then you'd know about sexism, I say to her, watch some old films for god's sake. Watch some documentaries to see how women who took the first contraceptive pill were treated. As either whores or career women who hated children.
So now the pendulum is swinging crazily back the other way and it seems out of control but eventually it settles and the pendulum will be in the middle. Hopefully this will happen with feminism. A lot of students were behaving well in the vids, the vast majority in fact.
