it's been a long time since i last kept you up to date with leaving process.
well, i got another teaching job, i started to work in october and my contract will expire in july.
that's is almost a year of financial security and i have the certainty that i will be called in a different school in september until i eventually get a fixed post - this is how it works in state schools in spain.
Congratulations on your teaching contract and moving out to live on your own! I hope you get a permanent post soon.
I'm not going to tell you what to do, you seem happy with your life so why worry about making a big show of leaving the JWs. Hopefully your life will simply move on and be filled with your job, enjoying your new home and the new friends you will make from your job. It will happen naturally.
Either your JW friends will drop off as you do less in the religion or they will stick with you. No need to make a big deal with your parents just take your time.
You say you know you need to make that final step but nobody here is telling you to do that. Do what makes you happy.

it really is appalling in its glaring omission of any recommendation to see a professional grief counselor!
'Even so, there are some basic guidelines that have proved practical for many. They are frequently cited by grief counselors, and they echo timeless principles found in an ancient book of wisdom, the Bible.'
They mention grief counsellors but then don't recommend you see one. Instead they take it upon themselves to distill the advice given by the experts and tag on a scripture with it.
I can't decide if it's arrogance, they know better than the experts or fear that JWs getting professional help will find out that the real world isn't so bad, there are compassionate people out there. It's probably both!

in piccadilly in the west end of london there sits a church called st james and most mondays they hold free lunchtime concerts.
i went yesterday and marveled at the coming together of so many cultural wonders.
the church itself was built under the direction of one of england’s most celebrated architects sir christopher wren, who also built st paul’s cathedral.
Arrive a bit early say at ten minutes to one so as to get a front seat for full immersion in the performance.The programme of the day is found on the internet under St James, Piccadilly.Thanks HB.

I'm glad you had a good meal and caught up with you friend. I was in my city last week to go to the theatre and the orange Chinese lanterns were strung across the street from the clock tower. We have a large Chinese population in Leicester.

can anyone confirm this latest "prediction"?.
Waton I don't think they ever put 1975 in writing as the end of the system. Dragging my mind back thirty years since I was in I think it was something like the end of six thousand years, six creative days so it would be an 'appropriate' time for it to happen, blah, blah, blah.

for some time now i have had the desire to conduct a study of jehovah's witnesses, a religious movement i have known for 30 years.. for this to be possible, i enrolled in a phd in psychology at the university of algarve and applied for an unpaid leave for an indefinite period.. the subject of the investigation revolves around so-called psychological abuse (or psychological manipulation) in a group, motives for the departure of jehovah's witnesses and possible consequences of this disfigurement in people's lives.
Any idea how long it should take?

I'm just trying to confirm if they have made an actual, current, "40 years" prediction
Dynamiterose you won't find it in writing, it will be sneaked into COs talks and hinted at in elders meetings which then gets out to the elders' families, then spreads further.
Just like the 1975 fiasco, and all the others before it, nothing will be in writing it will just be absorbed by the congregations by osmosis. Then forty years from now the GB will say we never said that, it's not in any of our publications.
