  Office Jargon, drives me nuts

  'granular' seems to be the latest buzz word going around my office.

  previously it was 'appetite'.. abstract words that appear to be designed to make the person saying it appear powerful and part of the 'team'.. as lord sugar has observed before; why not just speak english and say what you mean.. office jargon really annoys me.

  i had enough loaded language and jargon in the disgusting jw cult..

  Drugs....why?

  im new here, so go easy with me!

  just wanted to know if any one has any idea's or personal experience in regard to drug and alcohol abuse in former jw's.

  all the one's i know have just lost the plot when it comes drugs and alcohol, especially drug use.

  "Drugs....why?"

  Because, they work. The drugs your mother gives you don't do anything at all. 'God' doesn't do anything either. Drugs aneasthetize or move people out of their regular frame of mind, which is what they genearlly want. Many lose their way, though, as you say.

  Esther did lap dancing and who knows what else for the persian king. It must have been pretty bad, considering hiis queen vashti refused to do it. Anyhow, the jewess had no problem w it, and she is considered a hero. Hurrah for the jewish ot strippers and prostitutes if they use their craft to help the jewish cause.

  Religion vs the gospel

  our family's journey out of the watchtower has led us to see the gospel as the antithesis or exact opposite of religion.. for us religion is men telling us what to believe and do (to control us).. for us the gospel is god telling us what he has done (to liberate us from such men).. how have you come to see the relationship between religion and the gospel?.

  someone suggested i post an introductory thread.

  i am a married, rather young grandma of four precious rugrats, ages 2-9. i guess our only child son and his only child wife didn't want their own kids to be "onlies".

  my other half and i married rather young (18 &22) and will be celebrating 31 years together this summer.. i am sort of add, keep thinking i am still 28, love my husband now more than ever, and am so glad i woke up and left the crazy cult.. my husband and i began studying months after marrying and then decided to take the dunk.

  How would you define RELIGION, and why?

  "judge" rutherford defined or classified all religion as "a snare and a racket" in his books "religion" and "enemies".. after rutherford's death in 1942, his protege, watchtower vice president, and aclu darling, hayden c. covington, in the early 1950's, for reasons of legal expedience and supremacist aspirations, suddenly converted the watchtower into a religion.. this was done alongside one of the most audacious, spurious and longstanding swindles of the us legal system.

  this involved twisting philippians 1:7 and misrepresenting the watchtower's true nature, objectives and activities.. .

  this meant that it became necessary for the watchtower to suddenly reclassify and redefine religion (w51 1/15 p. 43 new legal booklet well named; w51 8/15 p. 511 questions from readers; yb75 p. 161 part 2 "for gladys bolton...").. two new watchtower classifications were suddenly created: "true religion" and "false religion".. now "true religion" meant "true beliefs" whilst "belief" in ever changing watchtower doctrine was equated with the one "faith" of scripture.. all this while the watchtower increasingly and maliciously truncated, obfuscated and hid the liberating full "good news" (or unabridged gospel) of scripture, which it lyingly claimed (in court) that it was actually "defending and legally establishing".. how would you have defined religion before learning ttatt?.

  Its theory based upon theory, based upon other theories. Theology is the ornate embroidery of all those thories. Its easy to destroy the lot if a person stops believing one or a group of those theories. After the loss of some beliefs, a rework of the knots and whorls of the work must be done w lots of mental effort, in order to keep it from unravelling.

  Its a mental contruct, at any rate. Contrast it w spiritual practice. W one spiritual experience, you can toss all of your theology. If you are the kind of person who cannot have a spiritual experience, then you can toss your theology and your spiritual, if you want.

  All that, from 8 pictures over 4 yrs. Don't get me wrong, its very cool. I am just thinking how easy it would have been for hubble to take, say, one per month. That would have given 48 frames to the vid. Perhaps, there is more info on this vid.

  Like sop said. Meditation is a shutting down of the mind. Start doing this during the daytime. Your mind will be a lot tamer by evening time.

  You don't need to sqwat or hold your thumbs to your fingers to do this. You can do it while sitting on a chair, or even driving. It makes you more aware, so driving isn't a problem.
