on amazon) i was very surprised to read that there are no original nt documents from the first century, just copies of copies of copies of many documents from that period.
apparently the 27 book nt canon was not set until about the fourth century by trinitarian church fathers.
When i was in, my understanding was that there was always a faithful few who carried on w the true belief, whatever that was. The most emphasized point, though, was not believing in a trinity. It was these who put the correct bible nt pieces together and protected it. They used to name certain ones to this chain type group. However, they stopped doing that, when they became an embarrasment. I doubt any current jw could put together a plausible answer.

hello everyone just wanted to relate a situation that occurred a few days ago.
so i have quit going to meetings for a few months now based on some issues i have with the explanations of current doctrines.
my wife is none too happy with this but over the last few months we have had some date nights and have tentitively agreed to disagree.
Its easy to think that since you did nothing wrong, you can be open about your thoughts. The wt org isn't a democracy and you don't have any rights within it. Its a total dictatorship, where they believe all opposers or people w views differing from those of the org deserve death. So, don't be surprised that, as you await your execution at armageddon, that they kick you out and shun you in the interem.

for example,i'm not a drunk, don't do drugs, respect others etc.
the point is i've found lots of nonwitness friends who have similar behavior.. growing up, when a worldly person does something good like help someone i'll hear things like "that's nice of him, for a nonwitness.
I came off a bit strong, there. It takes time. One step at a time.

People are bad because they 'do drugs' or 'get drunk' is a blanket statement. It is also showing pregudice. I know and have know many good people who occasionally get drunk and smoke mj. Some of these same people are MUCH better people than nonsmokers and nondrinkers that i have known. You need to deprogram more stuff the wt corp has loaded into you. You still sound self righteous, too.
