It amazes me how most people deride the daily mail but secretly read it. The two women I work with giggle in mock embarrassment when they admit they read the daily mail website because it's the only one you don't have to pay a subscription for. Guilty pleasure it seems. Maybe UKIP is succesful for the same reason. It's the daily mail of politics. The party of the chattering, judgemental classes that still can't get enough of the late princess Diana.

New Light - I've figured it out (and it's mine so don't you 'tates steal my royalties or MY followers - they belong to me [evil maniacal laughter] )
by berrygerry inso, we continue to face mounting challenges with 607 vs 587 (20 year differential), and the generation dying out.. therefore, after a personal (420 free - honest) research and revelation, it would appear that 587 is the correct launch date.. with respect to the 7 times, russell had been influenced by john a. brown into using a year of 360 days, when prescience would most surely indicate that at the time of discovery (2014) one would use the number of days of that respective calendar, i.e.. 365 1/4 days, an additional 5.25 days per year.. so, 7 x 5.25 = 36.75, which, using the biblical principle of rounding down, is 36 years.
(a day for a year).. adding the 20 year differential to the 36 years now gives us 56 years, which when added to 1914 ce, brings us to 1970 ce.. when we ask the god google, the significance of 1970, it tells us that earth day began 4/22/1970 (note not 4/20).. and who came to the aid of the woman (rev.
was it not the earth?.

notice the article is talking about membership of the YMCA as opposed to, say, paying to use its gym.

@notjustyet: agreed! The reaction to this person makes me quite angry but I think some of us have been hurt by the judgmentalism of some in the JW organisation and cannot see the irony in being just as judgmental in a forum such as this. I think we just confirmed everything this person will be told about apostates by the WTS. What gives us the right to jump to conclusions about people and insult them like this? A shot in the collective foot me thinks, I'm sorry to say.

How Many Had Chronic fatigue syndrome?
by OnTheWayOut inchronic fatigue syndrome refers to severe, continued tiredness that is not relieved by rest and is not directly caused by other medical conditions.. did you have many congregation members, particularly pioneers, that said they had " chronic fatigue syndrome" ?.
that's their "get-out-of-jail-free card.
" they were free to cancel anything at anytime and it was their legitimate reason for not doing anything that didn't involve field recruiting.

Absolutely loads ! And nearly all pioneers or ex pioneers. I knew one sister in another cong who never leaves her sofa except to go on holiday. Maybe she knew TTATT and was using it as her exit strategy - but actually no, she's a bit of a self righteous judgmental type.

Did other JWs judge you? What for?

Hehe Depends on the cong. I was made a MS while I had a beard. But I did keep it well trimmed. (Edited to add that actually it was the sisters that generally made a bigger issue out of the beard thing. Some used to tell me to shave it off and others saying they loved it. Who knew a beard could be so controversial?! Haha)

My last cong wasn't judgmental in the slightest. In my prev cong the elders weren't judgmental but there were a few rank and files who were. I remember a visiting elders wife telling me to shave off my beard. I also remember a run in with a rank and file brother who had taKen a disliking to me. I had got drunk at a party and he took me outside in the middle song of the next meeting and told me to go to the elders which I did. But that was about as judgmental as I'm aware of (And to be honest he had a point).

OMG I'm so happy!!!!
by Julia Orwell inyup, the apostate is happy.
i shouldn't be, right, because my life is empty without "jehovah" and the organisation.. but i just got a job at one of the best theme parks in the world, which is so what i want to do, and it's the first permanent job i've had since i lost my government job in 2012!.
the job pays minimum wage but i don't care because working in tourism and entertainment is what i want to do!

I think apostates have over-egged the YMCA thing over the years. It may well be "official" policy but it's not a biggie down on the ground. Back in the 90s as a regular dub in good standing I regularly performed at the YMCA with my band, all of whom were JWs. A couple of people made comments but some from the cong used to come and see us perform including an elder. To be honest more people were "stumbled" at the fact we played at another larger venue which had a gay landlord.
