I just tune out the "talks" and daydream. The only reason I went to the hall growing up was to socialize π -

I actually visited the KH a few days ago. I just needed to see some friends. I hadn't been in months. It actually was enjoyable talking to some people, although I don't know what I really believe about this org anymore.
I try to keep my activity as low as possible, just to keep the stress down. Routine sucks. I bet you PIMOs think the same at times. I'm actually a 1 percent JW lol. I don't think like one, don't act like one, but I think its still nice to visit the KH and talk to some people when you get stir-crazy.
And some of us are PIMO and don't just unreasonably walk away becuase we have our friends here and there. ;)

When did jws start viewing the "worldly" as bad associates?
by nowawake14 inany of you that had been in the organization for decades are welcome to answer.
really, who started this craziness?.

I agree. Rutherford was bit of a dictator. Russell was a little loony, but I think jws had it better when he was around. He just said not to associate with the truly wicked ones, in which I agree. Rutherford really screwed this up and made it culty. -

Jws don't really have "communities" or "functions" like churches do?
by nowawake14 ini've noticed how this religion is kind of narrow.
all they ever do is preach, study the watchtower, or their meeting or convention.
no other organized functions that i know of.

I've noticed how this religion is kind of narrow. All they ever do is preach, study the watchtower, or their meeting or convention. That's it. No other organized functions that I know of. Kind of boring. They have the one size fits all program.
Whereas, the churches have all the communities programs designed for different ages. Honestly, I believe all religions in the world are corrupt, but its just mind boggling that jws think they're the "truth," but they don't do any better than some of these other groups.
And to say, I did go to plenty of parties growing up in the borg, and I had a fun time. In one congregation I was in, we had a party like once every couple months.
But, yeah, I remember sitting at the meeting as a kid, and they would have a watchtower about SEX. I didn't even know what sex was! It makes me cringe that all these little kids are being exposed to this.
If yer gonna talk about sex, make an adults (and teens) only community, to discuss it in. Kids don't need to be hearing that stuff. And kids do need to know the concept about sex, but they're too young to sit through a watchtower and take it all in. I was too young to do so myself. Ridiculous.

And JW's are not allowed to think about sex? O_o
by nowawake14 ini thought this might catch your eye.
especially if you're a man.. they say thinking about sex is wrong!
that's biologically impossible.

I thought this might catch your eye. Especially if you're a man.
They say thinking about sex is wrong! That's biologically impossible. We're built to think about sex. It's healthy. I feel sorry for the jw men. And that probably means sex dreams are a sin too!π Hell, I'm a girl, and I think about sex just as much as men do! I have the wildest fantasies you can imagine. My dreams are so explicit that if they were converted to a movie, and the elders saw it, I would be so busted!
Ugh, I just wanna rip his clothes off.ππ

Do you think its stupid that JWs can't date regular people?
by nowawake14 inthat is absolutely the number one rule that i resent.. i feel sorry for some of those poor dependent minded jws who can't find anyone to marry.
all because they were only allowed to be with witnesses.
what a bunch of boloney!

That is absolutely the number one rule that I resent.
I feel sorry for some of those poor dependent minded jws who can't find anyone to marry. ALL because they were only allowed to be with witnesses. What a bunch of boloney! I'm too rebellious and just want to be with whoever I want, because I love them for them, and not because theyre a Witness. Thats what should count.
And yes, people in the real world have other issues you need to watch out for too. A lot of creeps out there. I would just really try and look for the decent ones. They'res 7 billion people. There's got to be a nice man somewhere! Although we're not perfect. Just be careful.
I hardly have ever been attracted to JW guys. I've only ever crushed on celebrities or just other regular people. Most witness guys I've grown up with were kinda dorks, to be honest. Except for maybe a rare cutie. It was either that they were weird or they were too "witnessy" for me lol. Im sorry. Im very picky. What about you guys? Feel the same here sometimes?
I wanna hear so I can have a good laugh :D

Lets face it. Baptism is a lie.
by nowawake14 ini remember when i did.
i was in hs when that happened.
i wasn't even awake yet.

I remember when i did. I was in HS when that happened. I wasn't even awake yet. Absolutely in total ignorance. I truly didn't know what I was getting into. How the hell would I fall for that?
Its probably fake anyway, so don't worry about it, guys.π Its just that baptism makes you even more accountable to everything. I wonder how in the world I missed that then. Stupid teen brainπ² Well, the past is the past.

Does any other denomination change Doctrines as often as JW's?
by TerryWalstrom inwould i err in stating most religions and denominations have set doctrines?and yet, the watchtower's version/rendition of christianity is riven with contradictions which stem from changing predictions, policies, doctrines, and interpretations seemingly adrift from foundation or principle.wouldn't you think the constant upheaval, sifting, churn, and reorganization bespeaks whim, mood, uncertainty, and wilful speculation more than divine guidance?there's something endemically jittery and insecure about this religion which i would opine has more than a little to do with unstable mental affect than mere whimsy.what's your take on this?.

Dont know what to make of WT society, really.
by nowawake14 inthey have the dumbest thinking.. us vs. them mentality.
example: if you don't worship 'jehovah', you're a satanist.
the truth is, if you dont worship jehovah, you're not worshipping anyone!

Dont want to be rude, but oh, I am so mad at this religion right now. Oh, and yeah, they definitely meet the criteria. Thats why they get a bad reputation.
