Freemindfade you are right. It is amazing to me that any ex-JW could believe the lies sold to them by corrupt politicians. As far as I am concerned, any politician that says we need to open our borders to more uncontrolled mass immigration from Muslim countries is a traitor and an enemy combatant. Should not a politician be more concerned with the citizens of the country they are voted in to serve more than non-citizens who share non of our values? I mean I do not mean any harm against Muslim people just as I do not hate JW's, but the ideology is dangerous and needs to be addressed.

Sorry if this was posted before but if it was then it is worth repeating and discussing. The hypocrisy of the JW cult knows no bounds. Supposedly, the reason JW's are not allowed to vote is because they must not be a part of this world. Not only does voting have nothing to do with being part of the world, but it also is very important in determining our own future. It is a right granted to us by every free nation on earth. Of course, when you look up what the WTBTS has done over the years, you find that they have been involved in politics, lobbied for political reasons and done numerous things which certainly qualify more than just "being part of the world" but actively playing a part in it!
When I was full in the cult, I always felt this reason for not voting was weak. It is one thing to not become a politician, but to deny us our right to vote is illegal and I believe someone here with a good legal background needs to pursue this. A religion cannot deny its members the right to vote.

I just want to point out that Trump did say he recognizes the important role of the media, so long as the media is fair and balanced but he was attacking CNN in particular for their constant bias and hate against him and his administration. We must have a fair and balanced media to keep not only Trump in line, but any president regardless of political affiliation, and it was clear over the past several years that the media gave Obama a free pass on nearly everything. Did the media cover what Obama did on his way out the door?
I could name 5 major and very bad things that Obama did literally on his last day in office just to screw with Trump and make it difficult. By doing that he showed he is not concerned about making America better but to play politics with Trump and make him look bad. Do you know which ones I am talking about?

Exactly what I said about an old Korean proverb that says, "never trust a man who smiles too much or talks too smoothly." That's the best translation I can find but I think the point is clear. Obama was an incredibly smooth talker. I don't want to repeat someone's personal experience with Obama as 100% fact but several people who said they knew him said he was a smooth talker, a "mac daddy" and a pathological liar. The one woman who really stood out to me was Maria Pope from Hawaii who went to the same Prudaho school as Obama and she was very sincere and spoke with authority about him. So Obama was smooth talker but he lied often and forcefully. It was not a mistake when he lied. He knew what he was doing. Trump is not the best public speaker, he fumbles for words, repeats himself and loses focus. But I do believe he is sincere as much as he can be in his position. I'm not saying he does not lie but I do believe he is not a scoundrel.
