Now that this has happened, I have zero interest in watching his videos. When it first happened, I noticed he was not producing videos for 2-3 weeks and I thought, "what has happened to Lloyd Evans? Why is he not producing videos? Maybe he went on vacation? Why did he not produce a video saying he was going on vacation?" Because I watched him whenever he produced new content if it was something I would be interested in (as a former Bible student). So finally I checked the "community section" of his page and learned about his extra-curricular activities. At this point, I will no longer be seeking his videos out, or clicking if they appear in my recommended section. I'll only watch videos on this topic, none of his other stuff. At this point his videos are only for people who have been disfellowshipped for similar reasons and LE is going to lead them to sexual freedom, so he thinks. I guess that is his idea of "the truth will set you free."
Asking people (or "inviting" them, rather) to pay 6,000 before a Judge has even issued an Order requiring such payment is ridiculous. That's not how it works, and it looks like another scam of his to get the gullible to give him money.

Where will the war in Ukraine lead to?
by Kosonen inthere has been comments in the news recently that the war in ukraine could be the beginning to the world war three.. i would not be surprised if it is.
.
the bible says a time will come when the peace will be taken from the earth.. revelation 6:4 another came out, a fiery-colored horse, and it was granted to the one seated on it to take peace away from the earth so that they should slaughter one another, and he was given a great sword.. have you heard what possibly this war in ukraine could lead to?.

This is why, to some degree, many people support the Anonymous hacking group, because a war between hackers is better than a nuclear war. I pretty much supported Anonymous. Then I became the victim of identity theft. I don't think it was them. It happened right around the time Paige Thompson hacked Capitol One. Anyway, the problem with hoping for cyber war instead of nuclear war is that the Russians are pretty good hackers. That being the case, you would think Putin would have the decency just to use their hackers to shut off electricity or something.
I didn't catch the whole story on CNN but today Putin said to some sector of Ukraine, "Choose to live or live as slaves." Whatever that means. It sounds like typical white man's rage strikes again, but honestly, I dunno. I didn't hear what he was referring to specifically. -

I can assure you, from the outside looking in, at least for me, it looks like quite a horror show. Among many things, as far as I am concerned, they have no business setting up their own bogus "Sanhedrin" (which I assume, is the "Judicial Committee"). They aren't even Jewish. From what little I have seen and heard about these disfellowshipping committees, so much of what they do would actually be illegal in a secular court.
Salvation is a false concept. I rescue cats. Only some of them can and will be saved, though I wish they could all have good homes and not become prey to other predators. It's no different for people, and I don't know why people have such grandiose ideas that an entire "Bible & Tract Society" will be saved. If a tornado or a tsunami ripped through any town populated by JDubs, some of them would be saved, some of them would be lost. -

Lloyd Evans, Philandering & Sex Slaves
by Marbles inthe argument made by le supporters that his philandering is "between him and his wife" is a fallacy.
philandering is a real social problem that affects many families (including mine).
it's pretty apparent now that le has been using his wife and his in-laws to boost his writing career, and now that he has achieved his goals, he will discard them.

@dehek, good luck with your You Tube channel!
First of all, I do not believe the Bible is true, so you have not offended me. I was never a JW, only a Bible student. To be fair to Lloyd, really would require being unfair to myself, as a woman and CSA survivor. But there is such a thing as "extra care" and over compensation for people who have suffered the lies and indoctrination of a cult. For instance, JWs were encouraged not to get higher education (lots of people do live without it though) and not get higher paying jobs as a result.
Everyone needs to make a living, including Lloyd. This is not time for him (or anyone) to be screwing around with prostitutes, partying it up, etc. If I had a lot of money, as so many people do, I would be using it to care for the poor, suffering and needy, even a small colony of semi-feral cats living in a cold, desolate forest (which is what I am doing, actually). But he does need to make a living lest he become poor and destitute himself. He is skilled at what he does. But in light of the recent events, he is not really working for a good cause if he is spending his money on debauchery. The money needs to go to his household and family. Second, his reasons for his work seem wrong. It seems as if he is taking revenge on the Wt for kicking him out. They have evidence against him, so now he has evidence against them. It's like a game of chess between himself and the WTS. These are not right reasons. Men like him generally do not change, but if he wants to succeed, he has to change and understand the concept of "duty of care." Duty of care is what you do to care for someone who clearly needs you. And you do it for that reason alone, expecting absolutely nothing in return.
Being an outsider does not mean we have not suffered the ravages of the world, but I have to say, I am very hurt and sorry to see some of the things JWs are going through that are unique to them.
@shadowclone- yes you have taken the words right out of my mouth. Being a CSA survivor as an adult means something like facing death knowing you have never truly lived. It does feel that bad. This really does not seem fair to us. -

I do agree. It's inappropriate for him to remain in the public pretending to be Christopher Hitchens. He does need to fade away. Sticking around only to shut people up and speak over them is not a good look.
"any reasonable person will conclude that he isn't that bad"
I think what you are referring to is the legal system would not punish him to the same degree as the criminals I mentioned, and I agree. Legally, though prostitution is a crime in both Croatia and Thailand, it does not rise to that level of bad. But he is a bad man for wanting to enslave women. Unregulated prostitution is sex slavery. (Regulated prostitution means, for instance like in the porn industry in the U.S. they have to take STD tests). It's a woman's issue, in a way. We abolished slavery for African Americans. Slavery for women needs to be abolished too. The Bible promotes both forms of slavery, though.
I have my own experience with rape, prostitution and child abuse (prostitutes get pregnant after all, children get neglected and abused- not saying my mom was a prostitute or anything...), but this is not the place for it. Surviving such an experience has a spectrum ranging all the way from maybe a date rape to someone who survives a rapist who intended to kill her/him but the victim escaped. By referring to Dahmer and the others I am only pointing out these men WANTED sex slaves. That's the only point I am trying to make about including those men. Sometimes high profile cases just make the issue more visible. I keep editing this and spending too much time on it when it is just an illustration of the desire for slaves. Okay okay you don't like my word art, I understand now.
But, speaking only for myself as a CSA survivor, I personally do not make much distinction between the bad men that you do, Simon. Monsters are monsters. BUT because of the law, I must. In other words, if my abuser got a year sentence instead of 10, I only accept it because I must, even though in my opinion he should be imprisoned for life just as I have been enslaved/imprisoned mentally to the issue my entire life. I've had to think about it my whole life, while he goes over my head and prostitutes along his merry way (actually he's dead now). Hope that makes sense.
ETA: Forgot to mention, no doubt his in-laws made sacrifices to keep their daughter safe in their home with this creep. Dijana's mother cried when she found out he was taking a trip to Thailand alone. Maybe they ran up their credit cards while he was broke, for instance, and they are now enslaved to their debt. It really doesn't have to be this way, and shouldn't be this way...except Lloyd thinks this is all okay. Only he thinks this is okay. Everyone else in the family is burdened with the daily tasks of life and maintaining the home while Lloyd goes...erm...scuba diving. -

Okay. Noted for future posts. I'll try to keep true crime out of it on your page, and "unbalanced hate." I agree, he says he is "not a super villain" so he would have a field day with any comment that suggests he is. He's definitely not the super hero he might like his viewers to believe he is though, either.
Claiming he has "not clubbed seal cubs to death or run over cats [which pervs often do]" is an example of going over the top, Icarus like (Greek myth of a guy who flies too close to the sun and his wings, made of wax, melt) in an effort to keep his viewers believing he is a relatively innocent man, compared to other men who do club baby seal cubs to death. He's obscene, which is also over the top.
"Apparently you all need to know (giggles), what I do with my di(K," and other comments like that, on a public forum, constitute obscenity, I'm pretty sure. Here's another obscene comment he made on You Tube:
"I think there will always be a small minority who concern themselves with what I do with my di(k."
In the U.S., public obscenity is actually not protected free speech and his You Tube video probably could have been reported for that. But he has taken the confession video off his page and buried it in the community section, so it isn't going out to the public now.
Anyway, I feel hurt for his wife and even her parents, that they supported this man who used them until he was financially secure enough to dump them. -

Watchtower says you can be Disfellowshiped for being Fat!

is he grossly overweight gorging himself?
does he feel uncomfortable even getting sick...this person has no place in the congregation of god...they will not inherit gods kingdom.".

Hi. I'm Marbles from Northern California. I was never a JW only a Bible Student. I'm very glad I never got truly immersed in that group because now I can see how harmful they are! The shunning must be so painful for people who were born in, then get kicked out, and face a world they don't know all alone! But as for me, I could never follow all those rules. It would make me feel like I was sacrificing fundamental liberty (for whatever it's worth, I'm a Libra???).
The JDubs are guilty of many things, but one that comes to mind that seems significant for you, who are now on your way to becoming a secular person, our Constitution guarantees people the right to freedom of religion and Jehovah's Witnesses do not. So as a secular person, they are violating our Constitution and they should have their tax exempt status removed. -

Oh, well I am a true crime "fan," not a plant. (Not sure which kind of plant you mean- a house plant or a plant by LE or the WT). I have read true crime for decades (Ann Rule, for example) and I get free ID Discovery included in my rent!
So sure, for a non-true-crime "fan" I guess can see how that would seem like an exaggeration, but for me, no. And the reason is this- when the issue rarely to never gets addressed or resolved, it leads to the extreme situations I mentioned. But I tried to include our high profile garden variety philanderers also (McAfee, Epstein, Cosby could have been included, even MLK Jr. I suppose).
Obviously, this is a hard issue. We all want liberty and justice, but we want it to be good and righteous liberty and justice, free from corruption if that is possible. Women who are victims of CSA might help us move in that direction because our struggle is to be free people after escaping this pollution.
Maybe I can perfect my argument as the situation progresses. For now, as I have said in a comment before, LE has gone over the top, so it seems like I have to, also, to balance things out.
"Because what he's done is nowhere near them on the grand scale of things..."
Not yet anyways! (Sorry Simon, I know you are the owner here- hope this isn't taken as an affront). -

Awakes says playing Chess is evil not for Witnesses!
by Witness 007 inawake 73 3/23 p.12 "the spirit of compatition between players can lead to unpleasant circumstances...in some homes tensions linger longer then checkmate.
chess is a game of war a play substitute for the art of war...danger of stirring up compatiton and hostility to one another something the bible warns christians to avoid.
what effect does playing chess have on you is it wholesome?

The only thing that comes to mind is that great song by Murray Head, "One Night in Bangkok."
