Kingdumb songs, will they someday make the top 25 Religious Hymns???

you would think surely jehovah want the world to be familiar with his hymns.... maybe they have instructed the rf to only sing their songs in the kh, only for special folks..

Wow, this topic has revived from my memory these lyrics. I don't remember the title, possibly..

"Forward you Witnesses."

As a child I always wondered what vaunted meant. Their songs were another great indoctrination tactic, "God's new order will soon be here." Ha ha. That was decades ago, until recently I still half believed it. On the other hand, part of my mind was considereding that the overlapping generation stuff was a ploy. Cognitive dissonance? Oh well, I'm here now. As the saying goes, "You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time."

Thank you, That's the one! I didn't know if maybe I confused it with all those little booklets they used to publish. There was even a column for them on the field service report slips. Do you remember those? I think we studied them at some of the book study groups. Thanks for the memory. 😊

Tepidpoultry, I'm pretty ancient, so working from my rusty memory, I seem to remember a songbook perhaps before the Singing and Accompanying...one. I was a very little girl and I think there was a somewhat tattered olive green and beige paperback maybe? It was before that neon fushia colored one that clashed with the emerald green NWT.

The cult always finds a way to make the members look silly. Even as a kid I was really embarrassed to be walking around carrying that fashion disaster three times a week!

New Resolution?

had our midweek meeting last night.

they had a resolution to send an extra (i wanna say $1100 but i only remember it was at least $1000) per month to forward the kingdom preaching work etc.. you know how they work in the kh...no one votes against anything.

i abstained as i almost have always done.

Another sad thing, some older Witnesses will remember this illustration while shopping, and really not buy enough to eat a healthy diet. Like said above, how do they get away with publishing this sort of thing? It's right there on the internet for the whole world to see, must be only the dazed JW's are actually reading it. Heartbreaking.

it seems that many times in life there is a moment or an action that changes your whole world.

it could be just a look that someone gives you.. many times it can be something rather small.

My doubts about the WTS over the years started coming together, I was scared and confused of what was going on in my mind. I had been talking with my daughter about it for several weeks. when one day in the middle of the conversation she stopped me, and quietly said "Mom, it's a cult."

That was the defining moment.

The one oclock meeting

i go to a hall (very rarely) with a single cong of about 60 people in a small city of maybe 10000. our board of elders is a bunch of childless weirdos or at least the ones that make an effort.. they recently changed the sunday meeting time from 10/12 to 1/ 3. a number of us are pissed off.

its makes to hard to drive to the city or go to a football game.. i just know the gestopo elders behind the change.

if your life isnt as miserable or pointless as theirs, they arent doing their job.

You could plan on doing something you really like earlier in the week.

When Sunday rolls around you'll be anticipating your fun and meeting will be such a dismal option it will be easy to just skip it.

Repeat every Sunday. 😊

Taking the Step

first time posting after years of reading, the things i have learned here have gradually helped to open my eyes to the reality of this religion.

though i have been mentally out for some time, lately i have stopped going to meetings and service.

the elders are calling and i have been ignoring them, i am trying to get up the courage to finally break free and never go back.

I was born in as well and just left recently, I I haven't gone to a meeting since early Spring. I have to say at times it was hard. Barely though, maybe 2% of the time. That's only because of my in family, I received some excellent suggestions about how to fade successfully here. I'm fairly confident that all will be well in that area if I'm careful.

I've never been truly happy until leaving the mind control the GB excels at. I am now! My daughter said "It's like life is blossoming for you Mom!"

I always thought it was my fault , now I know for a fact it was the cult. It's a joyless life they impose on people. I feel so light for many reasons, especially because the FOG is something of the past. The life you will choose, not the WTS, is amazing!
