  i was wondering if the gb has forbidden vaping yet, so i did a search.

  there was a thread from a year ago, the comments covered all the bases i suspected the wt would come up with.

  i'm out, so it doesn't really matter to me.

  Yes you're right, I didn't say nicotine free juice, and that's what I meant.

  Sorry I was unclear. 😔 I know that they ban nicotine, but the other juice they could only say "worldly" or some extension of that, I guess.

  I'm out, so it doesn't really matter to me. My youngest adult daughter and her friends all vape. It's something of a hobby for them, the events, the online groups, etc. If I take an interest in it, and (maybe) vape occasionally myself it could be a shared interest.

  If the WT leaders have decided on making it a formal disfellowshipping position, then it's just another inconsistency in their self-serving rules. It's none of their business in the first place.

  i was brainwashed to believe you generally shouldn't relax much.. demons can enter you if you meditate or even relax your brain too much for one second.

  always be on guard.. scriptures criticizing laziness were repeated often.

  So glad you brought this up rebel8. I can fully relate. I've struggled with this as a born in and still am as I'm fading. (Eight months now, yay!) Meditation has helped me immensely, epecially at first. What you said schnell mirrors my own experience.

  The GB tries to make just about everything have some tie to the demons! I'm surprised we were allowed to brush our teeth. Surely they could have fabricated a connection somehow. 🙌

  we always say free choice, the freedom to choose well the ability to choose is freedom and we claim freedom ourselves to the attention that we become aware of our decisions.

  well today this year i choose to never step foot in a kh again unless someone died or i have an axe and some gasoline!

  I try to remember that the vast majority of those in attendance have no clue what is going on, and that they are being led by the WTS mind control tactics. I certainly was. 😔

  it probably will never happen but... imagine the gb recieved some new light that told them the great tribulation was imminent.

  the world is going to hell and all jws can expect until armageddon is terrible persecution the likes of which no christian has ever experienced in two thousand years.

  but jehovah has a solution: put yourself and your family 'to sleep' and after armageddon's over, jehovah will 'wake his people up' at the resurrection.

  That is a morbid thought, and still scares me to think about. Here's why. It's a strange coincidence but it's quite similar to something that went through my mind earlier this year, several times actually. It was shortly before my fade, my heart is pounding a little now, but I have to say it. I'm pretty embarrassed, but it will help me, and perhaps someone unfamiliar with the organization will read this entire thread and realize how dangerous the mind control the WTS employs could potentially be. I DON'T think they would actually do such a thing, but this is how I was thinking. Like I said, I had been "waking up" as the saying goes for several months. One afternoon following the Sunday meeting I must have subconsciously realized something really wrong was going on at the meetings. I pictured the whole thing just the way it was described in the opening post, I imagined they said those very things, the speaker saying new light, etc. Then brothers handing out pills going row by row like they do at the Memorial. My next thought was, "Would I take them if this actually happened?" I pushed it out of my mind, but it came back as the weeks went by. I can tell you it was terrifying to think about something that weird. I had been telling my non-jw adult daughter for several months previously how wrong so many different things seemed. One day after venting again about it, she looked at me, paused then said "Mom, it's a cult." Just like that. I started shaking my head and saying quietly, "no, no, they say.." I was about to repeat verbatim what the Reasoning book had said under that section on how to reply at the door when a householder brings up a question. I realized at that moment a cult is of course going to say it isn't a cult! I felt so humiliated inwardly, and then she said pedophilia was going on, and that was it for me. I went to the library, borrowed some books about cults, then dared to look on the internet for info about JWs. Fortunately, I found JWFACTS right away. I then went to a few more meetings just for appearances, etc. (I previously posted a couple months ago on details, but that's irrelevant here.) After I was out completely, I told my daughter about my imaginary story and said that I really wonder if I would have taken the pills or not. She said, "You would have Mom, you would have." So there it is, I'm really embarrassed, I thought about posting about this a couple months ago, but I decided it was such a far fetched stupid thing for me to think in the first place. I guess maybe it wasn't so far fetched after all. I hope no one here will make fun of me for saying what happened, but I guess I would deserve it. Nevertheless, I think there is strong mind control going on by the leaders, and it's criminal how many lives they have/are ruining.

  an easy way to stump the delusional jws at your door is come to the door with sunglasses on holding a sign with the words in the above title, and not say a word.

  the reaction will be priceless.... hopefully it will wake up those that still have some use of their thinking abilities..

  you would think surely jehovah want the world to be familiar with his hymns.... maybe they have instructed the rf to only sing their songs in the kh, only for special folks..

  Wow, this topic has revived from my memory these lyrics. I don't remember the title, possibly..

  "Forward you Witnesses."

  As a child I always wondered what vaunted meant. Their songs were another great indoctrination tactic, "God's new order will soon be here." Ha ha. That was decades ago, until recently I still half believed it. On the other hand, part of my mind was considereding that the overlapping generation stuff was a ploy. Cognitive dissonance?   Thank you, That's the one! I didn't know if maybe I confused it with all those little booklets they used to publish. There was even a column for them on the field service report slips. Do you remember those? I think we studied them at some of the book study groups. Thanks for the memory. 😊

  Tepidpoultry, I'm pretty ancient, so working from my rusty memory, I seem to remember a songbook perhaps before the Singing and Accompanying...one. I was a very little girl and I think there was a somewhat tattered olive green and beige paperback maybe? It was before that neon fushia colored one that clashed with the emerald green NWT.

  The cult always finds a way to make the members look silly. Even as a kid I was really embarrassed to be walking around carrying that fashion disaster three times a week!
