I know I am a hopeless loner but a swear I can’t understand the social aspect of this religion. Once you have children, own a house and have a career , who has the time.

I built a house with my retired father in evenings and weekends while I worked full time and we were done in 6 months. I didn’t drywall, plumb, wire or concrete but everything else.

There was an elder on the same street doing the same thing as me and he took three years . His house looked like a frat house with all the people coming and going. He is 60 years old. Stupid.

Did you understand the individual books of the bible ?

the last couple years i have been really getting into watching these videos called the bible protect.

there is no real dogmatic axe to grind.

just simple 10 -15 min videos on the individual books of the bible and kind of how it’s all connected together.

It’s just weird to spend three Sundays studying the book of Romans or studying a theme like being lead by the Holy Spirit by someone with theological training etc etc instead of just hop scotching around the bible with every asshole with an opinion making comments.

my wife asked me after the year 2000 came and went without fanfare(because the wt organization said all the “new world” would be here within this 20th century would end), “ what would it take for you to leave the truth?”.

my reply was “ if i turn 60 in this “system of things”.

My mother in law who lives in a second world country who was a teacher for 40 years. At 60 she was required to retire and was given the choice between 250 dollars a month for life or 20000 dollar payout .

Given the fact the end of the system of things was just so close she choose the lump sum . Guess who is 82 years old now and guess who is sending 200 dollars a month back to her.

I wonder how many other people are in a similar situation ? And the fuckers keep teaching it 😡

The last couple years I have been really getting into watching these videos called the bible protect. There is no real dogmatic axe to grind. Just simple 10 -15 min videos on the individual books of the bible and kind of how it’s all connected together. I guess it is produced by evangelical outfit but it doesn’t really promote any sect or group.

i listen to my wife listen to her WTS videos and it’s nothing but abstract concepts “ remain loyal to jehovah, guard tour heart, keep in gods love blah blah”. It all seems to come down to being a member of a very special club.

So I go to jehovah witness socials once in a while someone tries to give me a song and dance and I ask.

1. What book of in the New Testament is basically a summary of Christian doctrine ( Romans).

i have to tell them.

Then I ask if they could explain the book of romans.

“ well if you go to JW org there are lots of great articles. Have a good evening “.

My question is did you know more than a telemarketer sales pitch ? When did you realize how little did you know ?

Please save the bible a total bullshit posts . I am not exactly joe Jesus .

Jordan Peterson - Messiah or Poseur?

a jp video came up on my youtube feed last week - he was on a panel in front of a huge audience and some poor disturbed guy ran on stage and started crying and wailing to peterson that he needed his help.

it was agonising to watch.. what was even more disturbing was the comments section.

i do not exaggerate when i say that dozens of people were extolling peterson's wisdom as if jesus had come again.

Something I strongly agree with him on is how poor a job the school system has done teaching young people the horrors of communism in the 20th century.

Selling people the idea of a utopia at any cost. Is it really anything really different than what the WTS sells.

Another great one is if you read the entire chapter of romans 10. The premise of the chapter is unbelieving Jews not believing Jesus was the messiah.

Call apon the name of jehovah and be saved.

How can they call apon the one they didn’t believe in. The one they have never heard of?

So Old Testament Jews didn’t believe in god????

Hebrews 1 10 in the nwt was an eye opener for me. A direct quote from the Old Testament in which the Tetragrammaton turns to Lord for theological reasons. You wouldn’t want Jesus to be jehovah.

we were willing to be persecuted to the death if need be.

if it came to taking a blood transfusion or dying, we were loyal to jehovah and would be a martyr for god.
