The End of World War 1 was Exactly 100 Years Ago

it is so amazing that the end of wwi was signed exactly 100 years ago!

and in just a few more hours, at 11:00am on 11 november 2018, paris time, the combat actually stopped!

(the war wasn´t officially over until 1919).it is such a historic moment, for the entire world, but also for jw´s, and for exjw´s.for almost the entire length of the war, the witnesses thought that the war was the prelude to armageddon.

When I was in grade 12 we had a speaker in our social studies class who was a holocaust survivor.

He was 5 years old in Belgium and the SS came to his kindergarten and started to pull the pants down of all the little boys looking for circumcised ones. At that time only Jewish boys were snipped. Lucky he was hidden by his teacher because she knew what the police wanted and after his parents died in the death camps she raised him.

Now I have a son about that age and I think of those children being shipped to the death camps. I also think of those who gave their lives to stop it.

Yesterday was memorial day in Canada and in the kingdom hall not a word. Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. Parasites, living off the blood of there hosts.

Did you enjoy your visit to Bethel?

i recently had to take a trip with my family to bethel.

it was a bit torturous for a secret apostate as you can imagine.

but mostly just so boring.

My wife was playing her kingdom melodies the other day in the house and there was this song called bethel this is the house of god.

Good god, singing a song that gives glory to a geographic location. Shit, I don't even think Catholics even go that nutty with there vatican voodoo.

i tend to think that many jws who joined the religion in their later years feel foolish or are embarrassed by their decision to become one of jehovah’s witnesses.

i’m not embarrassed by my years “in the truth “ because i was raised from infancy to believe everything was god’s word and who are we to question jehovah and his organization?

I would love to see the results of a study of the average IQ of a JW convert over the last 20 years compared to the general population.

The vast majority I have met are just dumb, lonely or mentally ill and sometimes all three.

Do you know MORE about the bible NOW?

how many of us would confidently say that we know more about the bible now that we have ceased being jws?.

i know that i was proud to say that i was a "serious bible student" when a jw.

we boasted about how much we learned each week, and how we shared bible truths with the community.. but it's only after leaving, and really delving into a broad range of research, that i realise how little i actually knew!.

Once i realized terms like son of man and word of the lord were actually rooted in the old testament, it became pretty obvious the writers of the new testament thought of Jesus as some kind of manifestion of Yahweh of the old testament. It would be like watching Star Wars and not realizing Darth Vader was the father of Luke Skywalker.

Not saying i can put a pretty little bow around it but at least I can admit it all doesn't make sense or I can admit I don't it all.

The idea of god The father revealing himself though the son makes more sense than god torturing his favorite angel to death.

I am still highly interested in Christian theology for some strange reason.

People of the semetic gene pool tend to have higher IQs than the average person and tend to be more successful in the fields of business and medicine.

This higher success rate leads to the illusion that there is a grand Jewish conspiracy that everything is slanted for the jew.

You can't talk about race and intelligence levels though. It's a very taboo subject.

I just watched a documentary on iPhone production in China and it's insane.

First off 50000 people work at these factories. They build entire cities around them. Any Building over one story is surrounded by nets to try and stop potential suicides. They work 72 hours a week for 450 dollars a month.

Then on top of it the average Chinese person only works there for about four months because it sucks so bad.

The idea these jobs could move back to North America is just stupid. a phone would end up costing 10000 dollars.

My point being Trump and interest rates. This is the danger in having a leader who has never worked a day in his life nor has a basic understanding of economics. If everything was made in America, no one could afford to buy it. He isn't going to re create the 60s , he is going to re create the early 80s.

My Mom's Challenge to Me

so my jw mom messages me on facebook last night and says she wants me, for a month, to read the bible, but first pray using the name jehovah and in jesus name and then read it with an open mind.

she is so ridiculous!

first of all, i do pray but i usually just say father and i always pray in jesus name and i find it ironic that she is saying i should have an open mind when hers is closed.

I think as interest increase more people will turn to the democrats. Starting trade wars with the economy operating at nearly full employment is idiotic.

Ironically the democrats and republicans have switched places and no one really noticed.

As a Canadian I can tell you the United States has the same anti dumping tariffs protecting there agricultural sector as we do, but you only hear about our milk tariffs. He doesn't tell you US food exports to Canada have gone from 2 billion to 20 billion since 1994.

Trump tells people the US run a massive trade deficit with Canada but he doesn't tell you about the 3.5 million barrels of oil imported each day. on a straight manufactured good to manufactured good, the US has a massive trade surplus with Canada.

He doesn't tell you Canada has lost about as many jobs to the US , as the US to Mexico.
